Now that they have a normal sized outer display along with that massive display it’s great to use one handed or open. Use it one handed the 75% of your use case that you don’t need a bigger screen and when you are in a situation where you’d like a bigger screen just unfold it and you have that big, beautiful screen. Only tradeoff I’m concerned with is the battery life.
Yeah, I think I made my mind up (again) and I'm sticking with the S25 Ultra. It's just too good, I have no reason to upgrade. A bigger screen sounds nice and the multitasking seems great too but for $1000 in addition to my trade in, just doesn't make sense.

Hard to argue with that. Got to do whatever makes the most sense to you. I’m probably going to sell my 9 Pro Fold and cover most of the rest of the cost after trading in my ZF6. Not sure I’d be able to trade in my S25U. It’s too good.

Agreed and in a similar boat. It is hard to let go of my still-great Fold6 and throw in another $1000 for the Fold7. As impressive as the Fold7 is, I don't need the thinness or weight reduction that badly.

Bought a stronger MagSafe car mount and keeping the Fold6. Final answer.

Anyone here know how these things hold up after 2-3 years? I'm looking at pictures online of people's internal screen no longer working or peeling but that could also be due to abuse.

On my Fold4 the inner screen protector started to peel/separate after 10 months. Samsung offered to replace the screen protector for free if I sent the phone in. I ended up buying a protector on Amazon and doing it myself.

As for the Fold6, it's been a full year and no issues with the inner screen protector peeling at all. No bubbles and no scratches even with S Pen use throughout the year.

$1000 for a trade in? Unless you going for the 1TB… cost is around $800 currently. Which I don’t think is too bad… come time for the ZF8 we will surely be spending $1000 (or close to it).

Not tying to sway you in any other way… just think with you being 50-50 on upgrading, the cost factor shouldn’t be that big of a hurdle.

True. Down to $765 for the 512GB, but that felt like yet another downgrade (no S Pen, lesser speakers, less storage, etc) from my current 1TB Fold6. So at the very least I would go 1TB for a Fold 7, but that means giving up the Fold6 and lighten the wallet another G. Thinking, nah.

Maybe the ZF8. Maybe. I don't want to do $1000 on the 7 now and then do it again for the 8, lol. Now, if Verizon brings back the trade-in your device "in any condition" then I might be interested since I still have two broken Fold 4 in my drawer (long story, but you kinda already know the details).

Thanks hopefully a few more people can chime in before pulling the trigger. I saw this thing at the Samsung Los Angeles store, compared to my iPhone this thing feels like it's from 100 years in the future.

Did I miss the picture you posted? If not… what you waiting for! Lol

Yeah not done it yet which is rare for me lol

Blue is really good

I'm especially curious about next year, when both Apple and Samsung are expected to release foldables with screens that supposedly have no visible crease. Honestly, I don't quite believe it's something that is possible on a fold. Still, it's an interesting development to keep an eye on. That said, I have absolutely no desire to replace my current OnePlus Open. It's still an outstanding smartphone.

I think you are referring to the factory fitted inner screen protector peeling or bubbling, not the actual screen :)

I would say its not uncommon for any screen protector to need replacing after 18 months or so, but its not mandatory to replace it, We did not bother on my Wife's Flip 5 we just traded in for her Flip 7.

Can you recommend any screen protectors for the outer display on the Flip 7? I ordered some glass ones from Amazon and the edges bubble up due to the cases (Kindsuit and silicone). Best Buy has the Zagg Glass+ in stock near me, thinking about going that route as I have a Zagg on my S25U and like it.

Totally curious. Do people go to the beach with these things? And how do you not break it with all the sand around?

I do. I’ve not had any problems with other folds. I also don’t worry to much about wear and scratches on my phones. They are utilities for use in my life. I am care and look after them but I don’t despair if I find a scratch.

Regarding your concern about not using the inner screen, the outside screen is now big enough for day to day phone duties but when you sit down to read something or look at video or photos then unfolding the screen is amazing and truly feels like a tablet. So much more engaging.
