Aw, Gar,

I was thinking about you last night. How I might need to become your house boy so that I can have access to your stockpile of one-button mice. :(

Hey - do you think that the one-button mouse might be the connection between gay men and Macs? I mean, think about the way you hold it. (I'll stop there to avoid the graphics.)

:)

Okay, I know that I am terribly late to post this...but I am going to do it anyway.

I am not gay (don't hate me) - but I do count heterosexuals & homosexuals as being 100% equals.
I fully support gay marriage (only one in my family  )

-----To me it boils down to the following-----
-If you wanna be homo fine,
-if you wanna be hetero fine,
-just be accepting of others!

Very interesting thread, this. Took the test and scored 70% gay... That's what you get for being female and knowing how to change oil on a car :D :eek:My husband came in to see why I was laughing, and scored a 23%
I guess that makes both of us the man in our relationship *scratches crotch and reaches for cold, sticky nachos* Hmmmm I wonder what my son will grow up to be

PS as to the headline, i consider myself to be straight but not religiously

All women are a little bit gay, in mind if not in practice. People will disagree but it's true. I'm not saying the same isn't true for men, I'm just not sure. (that's a lie) But then I digress into my Kinsey Scale speech ;)

it's great to see so many new gay folks here... as i've said many times before, MR is an exceptionally inclusive community, even those that are anti-gay tend to be very respectful... 'Course I don't go into the political forum very often, who knows in there...

It should be a MacPoll one of these days... Mac users, what's your orientation? :D

Shouldn't that be "Any Gay People here?" ?

Oh hell I'm going to double-post 'cause I'm drunk and lazy. That's something I've always wondered about but never heard discussed, it's like the difference between "Jewish people" and "Jews", most Jewish people I know don't make a distinction but some are greatly offended. Any homos here who don't like being called gays? :)

edit: or, you know, homos? :p

IOW, straight but not narrow. Same here.

The more I read this thread and take that test, the gayer I feel. :D
I just consider myself a "pampered guy".

Don't know why, but i had a feeling Gary would resurrect this thread.

Sticky anyone? :p

Voice Inflections > Semantics. If I can tell someone means no harm when they refer to homosexuals as "gays", such as this thread's title, I don't mind. But if they say it with vehemence, then that is kind of offensive.

But all in all, homophobia doesn't bother me all that much. It annoys me when people use the word 'gay' to mean 'lame' (eg. "My boss is so gay... He's making me work this Saturday"). It bothers me a little, but I figure that all they are doing is hurting themselves.

One thing that really bothers me is degayification - camps, programs, and medical expirements to change one's sexual orientation.

I wish I could let a straight person who doesn't understand homosexuality walk a mile in my boots. Then they would see that 'they' are exactly like 'us'. We all just want acceptance, love, and someone to grow old with.

I just took the gay-o-meter test and I'm 50% gay according to the test.

I suspect that I might be a bit more gay though, I have some OGT's such as:
  • A love for broadway and showtunes
  • I don't think I could name 5 sports teams
  • I am semi-stylish. I like to look nice. I like my stuff to look nice.
  • All my friends are women, well at least 90%.
  • etc.

But everyone was surprised when I came out of the closet. I thought I was very obvious about being gay, but nobody knew .

Do you know who I feel like? Kevin from the movie "Broken Hearts Club". I watched it last night so it is still on my mind :p. I am a total 'newbie', only been out of the closet since the summer started, but I'm really not interested in the stereotypical gay lifestyle for the most part. I'm really not interesting in short term relationships.

I was batching my third DVD full of images today, and it just popped into my head - "Hey I wonder where that 'Any gays here' thread is."

Obviously, I was bored. :D

Most of my friends are girls. But i think that's because I don't have much in common with the as*holes around me.
My mom always tells me its because I grew up to fast and was to mature for my age to make friends with people my age.

Not to mention that EPA rules are such that I can't just bottle up the old oil and throw it in the trash like I did in the 70's.

Well, to my credit I work at a bank- so male employees are not overly numerous.

Better than the straight male bastion of photo retail that I work in. Really hard to get into NASCAR talk and breeding issues. :D

Though to be honest it is great company for being Gay in. They may not do the benefits, but the co-workers are supportive. And the management is very accepting also. Company dinners are open to all couples, Gay or Straight. When my ex and I were together, I was asked by the partners on a regular basis on how he was doing on his job search and the such. And now with the "divorce", they ask on how I am doing with the changes in my life.

Such a great place to work for allowing personal expression of ones self, I am now free to pursue some of my body modifications that I have wanted for years (piercing -both ears, and tattoos - that go below my sleeve), but held back because of jobs or or my ex (he was more concerned about how work would react - never mind that there are those in the company that are more extreme in body modification than I could ever dream of!).

Lets not go there...yuck! ;)

Glad to hear that the company that you work for is so understanding and does not discriminate against people.

I wish more companies/people would be like this.
