NVIDIA has a list of gamepads... but none of them are for iOS.

There's a list of recommended gamepads. I would assume more are compatible.
Actually, most are from Razer, so it might simply be a question of commercial partnership / sponsoring more than anything else.

Is Apple slashing their fees in anticipation of not being able to block this alternate route?

I don’t agree or believe a single word this Sweeney says. He has done all this to save us money? Tell him to up his medication. A game that charges obscene amounts of money for fake currency (vbucks) and doesn’t even allow you to gift any spare vbucks to your friends, is an out and out thief. You don’t own ANYTHING that you buy on Fortnite. You rent it. Luckily I have spent £0 on vbucks but my sister is forever spending for her 2 boys. Literally hundred a month.

I'd imagine it's because Safari has no MFi controller support so the only option for them is to support Bluetooth controllers that have a keyboard mode. I suspect lack of support for MFi or even PS4 and Xbox controllers will hamper people wanting to use this.
I think the list is for Geforce NOW on Android, and really doesn't apply to the iOS version at all. One of them is specific to Galaxy phones. It just seems kind of like a goof to mention it in the article relating to iOS.

Is everyone forgetting that Apple helped Amazon make sure Luna would work well in Safari? Apple isn’t going to shut this down, they’re encouraging this.

“Amazon told Engadget that Luna will be available as a PWA for iOS users. The company says it has worked with the Safari team to make sure everything works as expected, and it also mentioned that Amazon will continue to work with Apple to enhance Luna’s experience in iOS devices.”

My point is that the list of recommended gamepads hasn't been updated at all since the iOS launch. A number of them (possibly all of them) are Android-specific. Razer actually makes an iOS-specific version of one of their gamepads, but that's not the one linked to on the page.

That page really should be taken with some salt by anyone planning on using them for iOS.

No, there is not, however Apple does have a framework for which how certain content is delivered to their devices, namely, software. Apple may define web-streaming games the same way it defines apps in the App Store.

From the very beginning, Apple’s real reason for prohibiting Flash on the iPhone and iPad was that they considered Flash to be a software delivery system, which it very much was, and Apple wasn’t going to allow that, even before the days of the App Store. Apple’s BS excuse about Flash being unreliable was just that - BS.
There's no way Apple is going to make sure Amazon's Luna gaming service works via Safari and then turn around and block nVidia's GeForce Now from working via Safari. Ain't happening. Besides, Apple has already clarified that Fortnite and xCloud can exist as web apps. So there's that.

I’m sure Apple has written in a clause somewhere that this type of gaming is not permitted. I got my popcorn ready for this one 🍿🥤
What about slowing certain sites down or disconnecting them for a second to 'save battery life'.

Who thinks Apple will block this some how
Why would they? Apple has rules for apps published on the App Store. They have clearly stated that if you publish on the App Store, you follow their rules. And if you don't publish on the App Store, you don't have to follow their rules. This is just an ordinary website, so there is no requirement that you follow any Apple rules.

In addition, they literally made changes to safari to HELP Amazon implement Luna.

Just tried and played one of my games using the Xbox controler ... it works fine .... I’m really surprised how great the experience is ! Good job NVidia !

Apple saying that Flash is unreliable may have been an excuse, but fully grounded in fact and absolutely not bull***t. Flash has been a vector for malware for all its life; I had to turn it off back in the day because it insisted on redrawing static images at 60fps eating up the battery life of my old MacBook Pro when it was still modern.

Nice, good work Nvidia. Just a shame their service has been crippled by greedy publishers, blocking games on their platform.
Who determines what a platform is worth. If you have your own platform you don’t need someone else’s. Nvidia is not going to be providing the level of marketing or exposure that Apple has. If they were on this platform from start they would not have grown to their size. Remember, Apple actually created the model that allowed developers to start a business in the first place without a lot of capital and connections. The rate before Apple was 70%, they flipped it. And took their share and continued to invest heavily in the platform and support millions of free apps as well. Greed is the company that made billions from their partner ship with Apple. Under the previous standard they would have been making 40% less. And still be responsible for marketing on a much higher level to be successful. Think about that. They could alway do a web app and forgo the benefits of using Apples resources and marketing. If you don’t like the price do something yourself. What these leeches want is for the court to hand them Apple’s platform for free. And allow them to market a store within their store to siphon their customers off. They would shut the whole thing down and make their own.

Apple allows this method of cloud gaming. They actually told them as much, as it will bypass the AppStore. So they don't even get a cut of the fees, etc..
It is up to the developer to optimize the heck out of it of course, and it may not ultimately be as good as a dedicated app. But, it should be more than sufficient for most users to be happy with. And apple has no reason to block it. it was the original way they wanted to developers to make apps. Just that dedicated apps always worked better. Now, maybe it will work well "enough" that it doesn't need an app.

I thought I read something in the past that Apple blocked Bluetooth devices having access to Safari?? So, you could do one of these streaming things, but would have no way to control the game. Was that not true, or is Apple now allowing Safari to access Bluetooth devices??
