They need a 'sport version' that uses a wrap around design so there wouldn't be a worry of them falling out. I'd buy some.

Both are products in niche markets. In another word, it really doesn't matter at all which one sells more.

Yeah, they are pretty great. I actually purchased a second pair because I use them so much. One of the best products Apple has made in a long time, and that is saying something.. most of the product are good to great... I love the Apple Pencil as well.

If they are shaped like the ones that comes in the iPhone box I'm out of luck. Those do not fit my ears and constantly fall out.

They are.

Out of curiosity have you actually used the AirPods for any length of time?

I own a ton of headphones and I absolutely hate earbuds because they hurt my ears. Sitting next to me right now in my office are a pair of Seinnheiser open back w/amp, a pair of Master & Dynamics, a pair of Sony MDR-1000X (my airplane headphones), and a pair of Audio-Technica's w/amp. All over ear headphones because earbuds kill my ears.

Yes, I have tried them for many extended periods. They are painful to me after a half an hour or so. Buds can stay in my ears all day long.

Same here. Airpods are extremely comfortable that sometime I forget I'm wearing them. I wonder people say they don't fit are just trolling.

Kinda crazy to think that some people have different shaped ears, right? Nah, they must be trolls.

Except for the large amount of people that can't wear them because of their uncomfortable design. If they eventually offer different designs, it could be huge.

Except that you easily buy these like I did on Amazon and they work flawlessly. Earbuds have never fit my ears. These are awesome !

They are called Spigen TEKA RA200 Airpods Earhooks Cover for Apple Airpods you get 2 pairs for like $10 Large & Small

I looked into solutions like this, I really really wanted to make the airpods work. The only issue was that you have to take them off anytime you want to charge the airpods, and eventually the rubber stretches out and/or breaks. I wish Apple made it possible to charge them with a wire. But even with these it didn't solve the isolation issue where the airpods didn't isolate the sound from outside noise. That's why I prefer my Jaybirds with comply foam tips, so I don't have to hear all the chatter in the gym when I'm working out.

Great product, Apple hit it out of the park with these.... Too bad they don't fit my ears :(

It isn't the hook or that they fall out. They're painful to the 'flap' of my ear. They're just too big for me.

I often wonder if people how say this have tried them. I've never actually met someone in person who couldn't wear EarPods or Airpods. EarPods are more of a pain, because of the wires, so the AirPods take care of that problem. And lets be realistic here, EarPods are used by TONS and TONS of people. So they must fit fine for a good majority of the population.

The apple watch needs a redesign. I want to love it, but get turned off by the stubby design (thick body, bezels). I put one on, it feels premium but I then check out the samsung and others which look a lot better to me.

I really feel apple should have a longer thinner screen like the samsung gear fit s. Will it happen? Probably not, but one can dream.
Yeah what a piece of garbage design....it's essentially an iPhone (minus the phone) on your wrist. Such trash. SMH......

Sometimes nothing is ever good enough for people.

Interesting analysis there. I have to disagree however. I've yet to see a single person wearing them in London, and rush hour here isn't exactly deprived of people wearing headphones. The other issue they have to get around is you look like a t**t wearing them.

However the plural to anecdote is not data.

"If I don't see it around me, it doesn't exist?" It would appear that over $2 billion of "other" sales (of which AirPods are much of that) would say differently.

But do you know what I use all day here at my office? The AirPods. Why? Because I can wear them all day long and not even notice they are in my ears.

Everyone has different ears. But i've found the AirPods to be the most comfortable headphones i've ever used. They can't beat any of the over ear headphones I have for pure audio quality, but they don't need to. For all day use while sitting at my desk, talking on my phone, etc. the comfort they provide me outweighs the audiophile audio quality of my other headphones that I own.

I still use my other headphones. I just can't wear them all day long like I can the AirPods. My ears would be numb. The AirPods I will literally forget they are in my ears while going about my daily routine at work.

Count me as one of those people.

I preordered the AirPods and got them a few days before Christmas. I've never had a problem with wired EarPods before, but for some reason my AirPods really, really hurt after about 20 minutes! No one was more excited for the AirPods than I was. And I own a few pairs of wireless and wired headphones of various qualities. Yet after a week of trying to tolerate the pain, I went and returned them (I know I had more time, but was afraid I would lose them since I couldn't keep them in my ears all the time).

Doesn't it get annoying though to have to take those on and off, every time you take the airpods in and out of the charger?

After reading this article my first question was "WTF is augmented audio". So I looked it up, and:

“Everyone knows at this point what virtual reality is,” Kraft says. “You’re essentially creating a secondary world — different from the reality you’re living in. You put on some goggles and it allows you to be transported to something completely different. Now people are starting to also understand augmented, visual reality like HoloLens or Magic Leap, and that puts a layer of a filter on the way you experience the real world.

“Now audio augmented reality takes that same concept and applies it to your ears. It allows you to still hear the world but it allows you to filter and curate how you want to hear, what you want to hear, and what you don’t want to hear.”

As a man living in a house with a wife, two teenage girls, and a very barky dog I would just like to say, "yes, I want to buy this now!"

This will be the time when you can no longer identify it that's a qtip hanging on someone's ear or the actual airpod. :D

The Apple Watch is a fad. I think it's going to lose a lot of steam in the next few years. Apple needs to throw in the towel and create a cheaper "fit" watch. Those would sell like hotcakes and it's where the market is heading. The "all in one" watch of our dreams is just that...a dream.

Airpods have the stronger market. Apple needs to tweak their design, though, as they are really uncomfortable for my ears.

Apple Watch is no fad.

If you buy one you might see that some of the little things it does are convenient and worth wearing a wristwatch for.

I never wore a wristwatch for 20 years, but since I am an Apple Fanboy I tried Apple Watch - now I love it.

Heart Rate measurements
Swimming lap counter/timer with heart rate.

Running HR and GPS.

Bluetooth music to AirPods while running.

At a glance I can see messages, take a phone call even, use Siri to send a message back etc etc.

What else? Lots else.

Stock price, weather at a glance.

It even tells time.

I have yet to see a single pair in the wild. ANYWHERE. Since they have come out I have been to FL, IN, KY, AL(live here) to include the cities of Jacksonville, Louisville/Jeffersonville, Chattanooga and Birmingham mainly plus surrounding areas.

This is the guy who kept changing his mind about whether the Apple Watch would or would not be popular? Who insisted that Apple was making a TV set? Who claimed the iPhone 5C would ship without Siri?
yeah, I think I'll ignore him...

The point is not just that he's frequently wrong, it's that he's wrong in stupid ways --- like that claim about Siri on the iPhone 5C. He just doesn't GET the way Apple works, and insists on looking at it the way a not-very smart MBA would, very much short term tactics, with no appreciation of long-term strategy.

I predict AirPods sales will be larger than Mac sales... Creative Pros are now abandoning Apple in favor of Adobe running on cheaper Windows boxes... 9 out of the last 10 large agencies I have freelanced for in the NYC area have switched to PC.

Nine out of ten? For what, video work? That I can see, but for graphic design and retouching, in Chicago at least, it's been 100% Mac for at least 25 years and probably always will be. I, and many other designers I know, will simply not use a Windows machine for work. Because it's horrible.
