Disaster - golf trip to Ireland, app essential as their cards and markers are in meters! Downloaded courses over wifi to phone before starting to first tee.
Turned on app in watch - nothing but a blank screen with the time in top right corner.
Deleted app, downloaded again, deleted from watch and re-installed, still nothing.
Had to use phone only.

Ive had the black screen for some time. Just installed the most recent update to GolfPlus. No change. All I get is a black screen with the time in the upper right corner. I did delete the app and reinstall it on the watch with no change. I did check glances and it does show one screen with little info. Selecting this screen just takes me back to the black screen. So far the app is useless on my watch.

Glad it's just not me - anybody else getting this?
Tried again back at home - just in case it was the Irish mobile service or something - still the same.

I've never had a black screen. Maybe try resetting the phone and doing a reset on the watch itself?

I'm optimistic that the newest update to golfshot plus will greatly improve user experience. Off course testing shows that GPS does remain active now which should help with accuracy and speed of updated yardages. App on the phone also seems much more responsive when switching between the different screens. I never used the app on the watch to input scores....partly because it lagged so much when pressing plus and minus...but also because I like to input fairways hit/missed so I could have those stats. Off course testing....that input screen on the watch is MUCH more responsive when hitting plus and minus. That being said I'd probably still use the phone to input scores as I want fairways hit. I also like the new layout of the main screen showing front, center and back of green yardages....instead of target and center.

Are you on IOS8.4 or beta 9? Just heard from GolfShot and they are blaming IOS beta 9 for the black screen issue.

Yes - beta on the iphone but not watch - giving them the benefit of the doubt therefore.

Last friday i gave Golf Shot plus another try after the latest update of august 18. I was very amazed. The app on my Apple Watch worked very well. Distance to the middle of the green appears very fast en was very accurate. Battery use of my iPhone was acceptable. I just upgraded the Golf Shot app to the pro version (paid) an will try it tomorrow. As far i can see now my watch shows also the distances to the hazards. Will be continued.

This is promising. As I posted above my off course testing seemed to show the GPS bug has been resolved and apple watch app is more responsive to inputs and screen changes. Can't wait to get out and test it myself. Which probably isn't going to happen until this weekend or next week.

What I find odd is that there is only an update to Golfshot Plus(replaced the old classic version) and not the regular Golfshot App.

I'm curious as to what they can accomplish with Watch OS 2 and putting the app directly onto the watch.

Does the watch have its own gps function?

I've had the same black screen issue since using my Watch & the app, but I've only had the iOS 9 Beta, so I'm really hoping once it is officially released that it'll get better.

Finally got to test out the newest update on the course. I'm happy to say that without a doubt...they finally got the gps bug straightened out. Yardages on the Apple watch are much quicker to update/appear when turning your wrist and activating the screen. No need for the cumbersome step of putting the app on the phone in "power save" anymore. Readings were not jumping around like they had in the past.
I had the gps background setting set to 10min and my battery level on the phone only dropped from 98%to 57% at the end of 18holes...almost 4 1/2 hr round. The new main display (front, center, rear) is much better and the overal app on the watch is much more responsive with little lag. If you don't mind carrying your phone in your pocket...which I don't because I score on the phone and not the watch... I don't see a need to buy a gps watch.

I get this black screen and when I try and use the app on the phone it closes every time I click "resume round"

The last few rounds I have been gps-less and it's nice in the sense that I don't have to worry about anything but playing golf except today the clubs yardage on the scorecard did not match where the tee box were located. Very frustrating.

Yes - same here. Black screen on the Watch, iPhone App crashes on 'Resume Round'.

Much, much better after latest update.
Scoring much quicker, and a separate putts button as well.
Shot tracking much improved, and speed of catch up is almost instant for me. No more 17 yard drives! Haha
My battery has never lost more than 20% on a round and seems the same after the update.
Happy with this now, and if the rumours of some sort of swing tracking and statistics are true for a future update then that will be good as well.
:)

Played with someone today that had a laser rangefinder....and distances were either the same or within 1-2 yards.

Using GM version of OS 9 - Golfshot crashes when I click 'Resume Round', tried deleting and reinstall but still the same. Assume we'll have an update this week with the Watch complications, so hope that it will then work.

Apparently there's a bug with OS2 that is delaying the public release. Anyone upgrade to ios9 and still on OS1....having problems with golf shot? Want to make sure it's safe to update as I've been having ZERO issues since golfshots newest version.

Played today and it was terrible. Took forever to update the yardage. Yardage on the phone updated instantly but not on the watch. Btw I'm running 1.01 on watch and iOS 9 on phone.

Maybe upgrading to OS 2 might help? It's out now.
But, I've heard/read about there being issues with Golfshot and iOS 9. Until they come out with another update to address iOS 9 compatibility, I'm gonna stick with iOS 8. I continue to have ZERO issues with the most recent update. GPS is very quick to update on the watch and is accurate when compared to yardage markers and laser finders.
I do have the 6s on order...so I may be able to compare if the update isn't out before I can test it.

They recently updated their app and I used it yesterday to golf. It worked flawlessly. Very quick to update yardage.

Latest upgrade seems to be working on iOS9 and watch iOS2. App now loads and courses are seen. Let's see on the course today.

Awesome. Running ios9 on my new 6s, but will hold off upgrading to OS2 until I hear your feedback.
