I don’t get paid to do that.
What I do know is the X should have been the standard phone this year at it’s “normal” price but Apple released the 8 because they are money hungry. Part 1 of their plan hasn’t really worked out because I’d bet the 8 has been their worst launch in years.
Many people on this forum say it’s because the X, but other than people on this forum, I don’t hear many people talking about ordering the X.
I could be wrong, but charging a premium price on something that should have fell into last years pricing structure is one reason.
Also, even if it was in last years pricing structure, I can’t believe they’re leaving the notch only so other people can tell that it’s the new iPhone X. There are no benefits of the notch and it should really be hidden by a software update to black out the top corners so it doesn’t stick out. That may happen, but for now it isn’t because Apple is more concerned with their branding than user experience.
I’ve owned iPhones for the last ten years, Android may suck, but I’m actually willing to give it a try because I will not reward Apple for their greed.
I think the final piece was their garbage storage price gauging increases alongside AppleCare increases...I was dead set on ordering two new phones but for the storage capacity I’m looking at, it was $2,300 before taxes and AC+.
(PS - There was no reason to raise the price of the iPad Pro by $50 during the keynote, pure greed at its finest)
But you are on a opinionated website, where you offer insight and feedback, but your not paid for your time here either regarding your first sentence.
That said, You make some good points in your Post. But this is how this Company is today . There is no in between, either you support Apple's product line and controversial decisions, or don't approve of their current leadership path.
To me, the Notch does one thing, it identifies the iPhone. It is off putting, but for the time being, there is no mistake this is the new iPhone when people see it. But For those who complain about be Notch, it's as simple as not supporting it with your funds.
I also didn't agree with the $50.00 increase with the iPads. I remember When the 9.7 Pro launched in March 2016, I was all set to purchase it, when Apple announced the price increase, I was rather disappointed. But again, either the consumer chooses to support Apple's decision making/Products or not.
But for me personally and I speak for no one else, I short Apple in their product line and decisions, not always because I agree with everything they do, but because they make the best electronic Products in the world and they have immaculate customer service. Those two ingredients are fitting for a successful company, even if it means I spend more money.
But nonetheless, I agree with what Tim Cook said during an interview while bsck. He said "Apple is not about bejng tbe first to the market with anything, we are about being the best at what we do, and putting out the best possible product." That I agree with what he said, contrary to what others believe.
