Lmao. I'm not buying into that PR crap Apple wants to sell. They want you to believe that's true. Who knows it could be but it would be dumb for Apple to say hey you're right it failed.
The message prompted him to enter a passcode to enable faceID. You will get the same prompt for TouchID if you restart your iPhone. Of course you will also get that message if you fail TouchID too many times (happens to me frequently because apparently I have hard to read fingerprints).
It’s possible that FaceID can fail so fast that it will prompt you for a passcode without asking you to try again, but since it worked later in the presentation the most likely explanation is a restart (possibly a crash restart as well... my iPad does that a few times a week).
Anyway, I’m not saying FaceID is totally reliable, or that it didn’t totally fail during the presentation. TouchID has been hit or miss for me, so my expectations for FaceID aren’t that high.
Wait... 😀what was this thread about again? I know it wasn’t FaceID. Have we reached a point when all iPhone x related arguments end up with someone bringing up FaceID?
