Finally, a little sanity in this thread. Are people really that stupid to trust Google not only with their emails, but also their voicemails.... They're storing way to much personal information for my liking.

Apple may have fewer email accounts on MobileMe than Google has on GMail, but Apple makes more money from those email accounts. Do they make a profit from MobileMe, I don't know, however I'm sure they're breaking even, meanwhile companies like Google are hemorrhaging money on free services in an economy where Ad sales are down...
Having market share only really matters if you make money from that Market Share. Dell has greater market share than Apple, however Apple is making more money per computer than Dell.
Google makes 100% of their income based on leveraging everyone else's "cloud" infrastructure.
Good God! What did Apple do that was shameful. At the worst protect their product, their shareholders and their business partners.

I disagree, but that' is the funniest FailCat I've seen in a while!Nice try.
I'm sorry but those are ridiculous comments. What Apple is doing is protecting AT&T against the end user. This has nothing to do with shareholders and their product. Apple is primarily a hardware maker. Apple's profitability comes from the end user buying their product and not AT&T. We are where they make their money. People buy their product because it is a great product. Apple should embrace the openness of the web instead of creating a walled garden. They would not suffer any due to it. In fact they may be more successful because of it.
As for Google I don't trust them either but I have to say that so far it seems that they haven't done anything to screw over their users while Apple has directly and often with the iPhone.
I skimmed all 5 pages here quickly but didn't see anyone suggest a suitable replacement.
Jerry Wang? Nah! Don't want to see him doing his own version of the monkey dance to "search, search, search." Billy Boy (AKA "Turtle Boy") Gates? Nah! He apparently only reads about the tech industry once a year at a cabin by a lake in Howard Hughesian fashion. Woz? I think they have a "No Segways in the Board Room" policy at Apple.
I know!!! Rob Enderle! Just do the exact opposite of whatever he suggests and Apple will be golden! (yeah, pun intended)
Is Diesel Spindler available ? Those were the glory days.
I think Woz should be on the board. He cares about computers.
The iMacs made them profitable again but the iPod made them rich (ok, OS X also played a big role, as did a lot of other things). So it was iMacs that returned them to profitability, but I've seen it stated on this very board that iPods saved Apple.
There was a beta program called iWork.com launched in January but since completely forgotten if not quietly canned.- Cloud Computing. What about Web based versions of iWork along with an iPhone version. Seamless use across all three platforms (Mac OS, iPhone and Web).
Was about time. Who's next in the hot seat?
GOOGLE probably paid him more. SO corrupt like I said but no one listens.
And now the real fun and games begin. Kid gloves are all the way off, gauntlet cast down, curtain raised, "To Arms" has been sounded.
Google wishes to supplant Apple. Apple will fight, and a titanic struggle it will be.
The loser of this war will be Microsoft -- Apple and Google will now attempt to out-innovate each other, and moribund MS will be eclipsed.
We are fortunate to have a real-life model of the Origin Of Species playing out in front of us.
This has been a long time coming...with ALL of the major OSs now going to some form of standards compliant UNIX system it was only a matter of time before the one "non team player" who have constantly been bucking standards compliance by "creating their own standard" and refusing to innovate their OS apart from certain aspects of the UI (i.e. the Windows registry still being around) would finally come crashing down. I'm so happy I could just cry!
