ok, show of hands? I guess I'm ignorant as to why one would want to be able to have multiple user accounts on their Apple mobile devices. Ok, well maybe the iPads. Could somebody enlighten me as to why this would be a wanted feature?

I'd love multiple user accounts on my iPads, but even on the iPhone it would be better if my sons would be able to use a guest account to log in to my phone if I give it to them to play or browse on.

You actually utilize the tiny speakers that come with these devices??? I always use either wired headphones or a Bluetooth amplified portable speaker

The iPad speakers sound pretty decent, given their size, and lack of any sort of sub. They're not the best of the tablet bunch, but they're not half bad, either.

That said, it would be nice if Apple did slap them on the front of the device, rather than facing off to the side. That, and it'd be really, really damn nice if Netflix didn't turn the volume down on all their moves by 85.4%.

Would be great on the iPad. A locked account for my email and work apps, and a second unlocked account for the family to play around on.

Mainly because not everyone can afford a iPad per family member. Being able to use different email accounts, music libraries, application logins (facebook etc) is a nice feature.

That Nexus 6 already makes the 6+ seem a generation old, and mine hasn't even shipped yet.

The display sounds incredible on paper, and OLED usually delivers.

f/2.0 13MP camera with OIS? Again, it sounds good on paper. Not too many MPs, a large aperture, and OIS; if they nailed the execution then it will slay the iPhone's camera.

Curved back with thin edges will feel great in the hand.

2.7 GHz Quad-Core 64-bit CPU? In a POCKET? Damn that is hardcore.

If Android finally delivers a stable and responsive OS in Lollipop, Apple are in deep sh t.

The Snapdragon 805 is a 32-bit processor. Apple has nothing to worry about. The Nexus 6 is more a competitor to the Note 4. Remember that until now Apple hasn't even competed in the large phone market. People will buy the 6 Plus because they want a large phone but also like iOS. If Apple wants to produce a quad-core 64-bit chip they can. There really is no need for them right now because no one is really challenging them.

I have never seen a person use an iPad with headphones or a portable speaker. I'm sure there are times they SHOULD be used but I have never seen them used like that!

Google makes phones that reviewers love and the general public does not buy.

Anything to get 15 minutes of fame, which is about all they'll get. Apple will get weeks and months worth of fame as the blogs and site discuss Apple's products and not much will be discussed about Nexus except the Nexus Android fans trying to intercept Apple discussions with their childish, immature comments.

:)

Or Apple fans trying to disrupt a Nexus discussion with the same type of comments. I guess they didn't realize this thread is about Google products.

Kind of like the reverse iMac measurement. :p:p;);)

/angles computer to obscure side view.
/ hides cords

"Yet it’s just 5 mm thin at its edge." :D

And the new iPhone's aren't measured to the protruding camera either. I don't know about you, but for years when I looked at my monitor from the side, I'd say to myself, " I wish it was thinner." :D

especially coming from a 400$ , you think driving the price to 750$ I'm going to stick to android....No thanks.

android just isn't worth the 750$ .....for 400$ I'm willing to continue beta testing android for them.

Beta testing android? Lol

Look how buggy iOS 8 is, we're all beta testing this junk

All those other people who like that other brand are uncoth troglodytes who breathe out of their mouths, and pick their noses. But we chosen few who like this particular brand? We have...

...dramatic pause...

...killer style, impeccable taste, and extra savoir faire.

Thanks guys, i appreciate your replies. I haven't thought about the work/home scenario or the kids thing. Now it makes sense, or like somebody mentioned, just a guest account that leaves it stock and you can choose what apps the guest can use. That way when you hand the phone to a friend or stranger who needs to make a phone call its a bit more secure. Make it so the primary account is tied to Find My iPhone. huh... that would be neat! lol

If you want or have to use headphones, more power to ya.

The rest of us would like speakers that are located using common sense.

I'm constantly laying around and reading news / forums on a tablet. When I click on a video news link, I hate having the sound go out the bottom or sides instead of toward me, the user.

I/we sometimes also show family videos to friends. Front facing speakers make a lot of sense when sharing a video like that.

In this case you are likely to cover both of them with your hands in landscape mode anyway. And stereo doesn't make much sense on a device that have no correct position.

I don't care about stereo that much. As for covering them in landscape, the Samsung tablets, for example, have the speakers in the upper halves of a normal landscape mode.

Front facing speakers totally beat having the speakers point out the bottom or sides. That kind of design simply makes no sense at all, except perhaps from designers who care more about form than function.

So Google needs to partner with Motorola...a company they bought and then sold...to build a 5.9" smartphone while Motorola also sells their own non-stock Android smartphones on the side. Google then has to partner with HTC to create a tablet while HTC also creates their own smartphones and tablets with software skins on top of Android making them non-stock as well. Google also spends most of their time optimizing pay-per-click advertising revenue --- the core of their business and the reason why they even bothered with a mobile OS in the first place.

Apple sells the iPhone and iPad.

I'll stick with :apple:

Someone needs to make a media player box with the features of a wdtv live and the speed and organized ui of a apple tv

It's not, but it will be when Apple offers it. Just like phablets were useless until September 19.

IMHO the Motorola is a great looking phone and given its shape and general design, probably less slippery than the iPhone 6(+). I also like the thin bezels. The ones on the iPhone are just way too big.

And despite the thin bezels, Motorola manages to squeeze in front facing stereo speakers. Great

Still, I'm not sure, if this Nexus will be overly popular in Android Land. Compared to previous generations of Nexus devices, this one is huge. Personally I would have thought, something similar to a Motorola Droid Turbo would be a great choice. The new Moto X 's battery is a bit too wimpy ;)

But I'm sure, it will be a great performer, running stock Android. Those of us owning iOS and Android devices, know, that there are good apps, bad apps, mediocre apps in either Eco system.

I agree 100%. Why have a speaker(s) on the bottom or the back of a device?

I believe the performance test was done by Verge.

To the point, every Android phones that will come out from now on will try to beat 6/6+ spec by spec. It's nothing new anyway, they over-spec'ing their devices are only good for bragging on the paper. Apple always beat them in every level of actual use performances. I don't blame their hardware though - individually, and I think as OS, Android is good too. But they just lack of Apple synergy between software engineering and hardware engineering.

Like the Safari crashing on the iPad Air? And all the bugs in iOS 8? :p

So why do competitors try to upstage Apple by releasing their wares a day before Apple? Upstaging Apple is impossible, and this ensures their announcement will be forgotten tomorrow. Why not wait until a month or more after the relevant Apple event once the hype has faded?

This was planned way before the Apple announcement.
