Dont' get me wrong the phone is not a joke at all. The Nexus line actually would be my choice if I ever switch away from iPhone. All what I'm saying is that it's a shift from Google's earlier stance.

And I understand why; like I said over the past year Xaoimi and One Plus One and other up and comers have been causing major disruption in 'incredible value' line; One Plus One in particular got Engadget raving, so it's becoming tougher for Nexus to compete in that space that it established, so they are moving to the higher end phablet.

if you update IOS 8 onto a 4s you brick the phone. My wife's 5 on iOS 8 is just fine

I think hardcore gamers don't take Apple seriously. From a games perspective their hardware is lacking.
Game studios don't take them seriously either. In fact a lot of people, myself included, boot the Mac in Windows and game like that.

The Moto 360 was announced months earlier (March I think). It was made available the week before the Apple Watch was announced.
 
some people are saying that Iphone Plus is already big enough, but the funny thing is that this new Nexus is only 1mm taller than the iphone, yet it has 0.5" bigger screen... still, too big for my taste. But the specs are brutal - Quad hd display (493 ppi!), fast charging, 3gb of ram... oh dear this sure is a beast

Dutch Courage.. amazing design

I say: wow, a streamer to attach to the lcd/plasma. If only they had presented this in 2008-2009 it would be ultra cool... Now its just another copycat like the new Google tablets that may feel, look and presents itselve as an Ipad a-like tablet with one flaw and one flaw only: Android, it may have 2GB inside, it may run at 2GHz or higher. Its the same bs as Windows pc's; The OS is way too big and clumsy to run. As again the tests point out. With a remote control lacking the whatever dozens of buttons Google always had the nerve to present. But this time a remote with just a few buttons and a wheel that seems to be easy to hold in your hand. And then the tablets come in 3 color options: grey, alu and golden? It has two camera's??? one in the rear with higher resolution and one for the front with lower resolution. And the material of the casing: aluminium brushed ?? How do they come up with that huh? It seems also a alu unibody to me besides the almost bezel free glass.... Its a brilliant design allover with unique favorable options. .. Now also get rid of the toxins and pcb's quit Google is using in this new plastic soup to be. (an idea everybody may steal from Apple but no one seems to care about) A large battery that may last the day. But because it is really slow compared to lets say an Ipad Air. It slows your work down so you just can actually do more with an IOS device in a the same time. ps Iphone 4S with ios8 works on my old 4s. The idea of using magnets to attach things like a keyboard to it. Perhaps they will come out with a cover that smart, that it opens the device when the cover opens, and put it back to sleep when the cover is closed. Boy that would be the day. Who invents those things, how do you come up with all that smart and handy idea's in one device? Or am I comparing Apple with Pears? The price would suggest Nexus 16GB model will cost $399, 32GB will cost $479, and an LTE-enabled 32GB model will cost $599.... so now a higher price will be the unique selling point for Google's electronic waste?

Apple Controller

Why doesn't Apple release it's own damn controller? Kudos for releasing a dev kit and min. standards last year, but as we have seen, there are few quality blue tooth controllers and the support in games is even worse. If they released their own controller and opened an app store on the AppleTV, they would kill it! Maybe they'll release these today..........Nah

Just by looking at the competition, you just know Apple will do the same (approx) next year.

I'd like to see users say "you can use this one handed", next time the iPhone gets bigger.

Stereo Speakers that face the user!

I know it's hard for you to understand Apple that people's ears are actually in the same orientation their eyes are.

Perhaps one day you may realize this and not stick two speakers right next to each other on just one edge of the device firing the sound out sideways, away from the user ! :p

Does anyone remember the Google TV with the giant keyboard remote? And we all saw the even bigger Android phone coming. They have no advantage now so they're grasping for anything. Also: MOAR MEGAPIXELS because that is always what counts most in photography right? Though I'll say we should at least hold out to see the image quality first. And the quick charge battery is neat, but honestly the battery on my 6 Plus lasts so long I only need to charge it every other day. Isn't Apple teamed up with Tesla to develop some new battery technologies?

For as much as people say that Apple copied Android devices by releasing a bigger iPhone, Android makers sure do copy a lot more in return. What irritates me is that they try to copy style and functionality, while Apple copies dimensions. Software wise, pretty much everyone has copied parts of the jailbreak community.

These companies copy just about everything apple does when it comes to promo videos, website design, keynote presentations etc. Just look at the presentation video for the chromebook pixel. It looks like a parody video of an apple introduction.

I never gave much thought to the sound coming from my phone until I got an HTC One. The sound on that thing is a couple orders of magnitude better than any of my past phones no matter who made them those front facing speakers make all the difference.
 
I really don't understand why everyone gets so up into a twist about who copies who.

In what way does your device get less valuable because of it? In what way does it hurt that others have e.g. gold phones too? In what way does it affect you that anyone was first with a function or design?

Some of you sound like kids fighting over a lollipop... (see what I did there?)
