Ahh nothing like a good macrumors Samsung or Google thread, the laughs are always delivered in spades

In the first image I see the round rectangle design that Apple made famous, chamfered edges that are squared off like the iPhone 5/5S, no true-tone flash, a centered camera, a curved back like the iPod Nano, a minimal linear antenna band, and the bead-blasted unibody aluminum finish that is Apple's signature style.

In the second image I see the iPad design shrunken down, a minimal antenna band loop, no obnoxious Beats logo, and a slightly obnoxious protruding camera.

So yeah, now that you mention it, the HTC One does look familiar to a lot of phones I've seen in the past, and the iPhone 6 looks a lot like the iPad. Thanks for pointing that out, though I fail to see how that is in any way relevant to the discussion in this thread.

What kind of glasses are you wearing?

Each day about 40 people line up at the local Apple store wanting an iPhone 6 or 6+ and it's been a month since launch, and tens of millions have already been sold ... I'd be surprised if 4 people are in line at the Best Buy (the closest thing to an Apple Store for Nexus) on launch day.

True. Although most Android lovers don't want to wait in line as some sort of status symbol and will just order online. At the end of the day no one actually thinks the Nexus 6 will outsell the iPhone. That would be ridiculous. But Google is basically creating a reference design for other Android manufacturers to follow. So sales of a single Nexus phone are never about beating the iPhone.

I may be wrong, but I think OLED screens typically use an RGBG pixel layout that results in an inflated ppi spec. Not sure if it's all of them or not, or if this Nexus 6 uses such a display.

It will be interesting to compare this Nexus 6 display to that of my 6+ if it ever gets here...

Inflated or not, I'm sure the difference is negliglbe at those levels. Anyone who claims there's a huge difference between retina and 400+ ppi either have hawk eyes or there's a serious placebo effect going on.

My friends and I sat around last weekend and tried to discern the difference between the 6 and 6+ displays and while we could see a slight improvement in high contrast areas (eg., black text on white background), it was nearly imperceptible and we really struggled to make out the difference. I'm surprised Apple chased the spec battle with the 6+ considering the hit it takes on battery life and graphics performance.

But with all the idiot journalists and non-technical folks who keep talking about how much better Android smartphone displays are due to the higher ppi, maybe Apple had no choice but to cater to the lowest common denominator.

specs do matter...oh wait...they don't.

iphones do not have bloatware....or lag.

there boot loaders don't need to be unlocked either.

a little research could help you out.

no bloatware huh?

so you never had to deal with that nasty newstand that you couldn't figure out quite where to put it?

and there there was that apple maps... couldn't delete it, hide ir or disable it... much less use another as default.

i recall filling up a whole folder of apple junk at one point which i couldn't get rid of.

Why do people choose to be so ignorant?

Android Tv was announced in the summer at Google I/O. The features are hardware are not a surprise as they mentioned voice and a gaming controller already. How can this be "because of Apple"?

The Nexus 6 is reportedly the same physical size albeit slightly wider than the 6+ but with a larger screen. How is this all of a sudden "too Large". Just reminds of people ridiculing other when the largest iPhone was 4". Now a 5.5 that is physically larger than phones with larger screens is "the perfect size".

As far as resolution being a non factor, place the 6+ next to a Note 4 and you will see the difference.

As far as the tablet, I'll reserve judgement until I see it.

Never been an Android fan but that Android TV and those Nexus products look nice. I've never given it a chance but this may make me try it. Just to see how it is.

Competition is good for us consumers at the end. C'mon Apple, I know you can kill em'

ARE TOO! I can't say nutin with you going all "BBLLLAAARRR" about it!

I mean, like, literally. You go "BBLLLAAARRRR".

This is also the problem and this is why Apple users get mocked. Some choose to be ignorant.

Bloatware- Applications that come preinstalled on your device with no to remove them, although you do not need them.

Yes, iPhones have Bloatware, just no where near as much as android devices that come with carrier branding. Carriers have gotten way out of hand, especially VZW.

I'll check this one out if it hits the stores. Ditto for the Sony Z3 coming to Verizon next week. It's all good.

Google announced their flagship smartphone AFTER Apple announced their new iPhone 6 and 6+. How is this "upstaging" Apple in any way?

Because any announcement from an Apple competitor in the same year will be seen as some type of reaction to Apple from some people on this forum. I'm sure Google has been holding off the world wide release of 3 products until 7 days ago when Apple announced their event.

So why do competitors try to upstage Apple by releasing their wares a day before Apple? Upstaging Apple is impossible, and this ensures their announcement will be forgotten tomorrow. Why not wait until a month or more after the relevant Apple event once the hype has faded?

They want to make the holiday sales season, so the announcements end up being around the same time.

Nexus devices do not come with bloatware. And unlike iOS, almost all apps can be disabled completely in the settings.

Right on. Prepare to be mocked for being able to see the difference in pixel density between a Note 4 and a 6+. Apparently Apple Fanbois all have bad eyesight now (except they had eagle eyes when the iPhone 4 Retina was introduced).
