Or he could just promote the products and services that Apple is improving/releasing and leave the sexism out entirely? Are you really so naive to believe that Apple wouldn't put a female project manager on the stage if said project was being featured? Or did you not watch the latest keynote, with one of the largest announcements of the day (LIAM) being announced by a woman?

Here's something to think about: maybe the people perpetuating this pointless conversation are the true sexists. Are you going to call them racist next because Tim Cook is white?

I called you a sexist, not Apple, don't try to remove that and skip that claim! Because with the previous comment you made it had a very sexist tone about it! i suggest you change the way you word things if you don't want to come across as sexist..

And yes they did have Lisa Jackson talk about Apple's environmental impact, but before then I can only ever recall the last time a women was on their stage was when they introduced the News app for the first time.

I think you are the 'naive' one here, are you going to claim you know all of Apple's project managers and you know none of them are women now?
And racism? So you are now directing the argument away onto another nasty section of human behaviour to hide the fact i called you out as a sexist are you?

I note how you didn't exactly go out of your way to state you are not a sexist.

In most cases it will take 6 months or more to receive the latest version of Android on your phone if you get it at all.

I've owned more than enough Android devices to know those performance issues on "older" hardware exist on that end as well.

On the other hand, out of all the features announced by Google today only Android N will not be available immediately on all Android phones and this is the least interesting features of them all. Android OS is just a shell (as it should be). Most features are in apps now. Apple should probably do the same.

Will have to see what WWDC brings, the bar has been set higher though. Siri for one has a long way to go to reach parity.
Really? We knew before today that Siri needs a lot of work. I'm not sure what Google showed off today that really set some mythical bar even higher.

The Voice User Interface, or VUI (TM) is the future. Apple dropped the ball, left the ballpark, and went to the afterparty where they're still guzzling martinis.

Since we were all told that Apple was operating on some 5 year plan left behind by Steve Jobs I guess he's the one that dropped the ball then...

jeez, after all the years at google, he's still unable to grasp one of the easiest languages - english. you'd think those guys were more capable

Amazon and now Google, both of which offer far more compatibility with home automation technologies. Apple (Siri) is really falling behind in this area, wonder if they're taking it seriously or if they just have so many other things going on.

That's why I use Sleep Cycle. iOS's alarm clock is so basic it lacks a clock that's always on. I mean, come on. The SC app tracks my sleep using the microphone and I just have to flip the phone over to see the time at night. Apple does neither. And they want people to sleep better? Start by implementing these features.

Having the native alarm clock have an always on clock display would be nice. Having a way to have it display automatically when the phone is charging would be better. Hell, at this point I'll settle with being to pick an app to start when I plug it in.

Soon its going to be fully integrated into android.

And even scarier is that it is a serious threat to de-fragment the smart TV industry

People who want home automation are going will leave Apple.

Some will go to Google. Some will go to Amazon.

But people will de-couple themselves from Apple's ecosystem.

This is a huge threat

What other things? What? They've announced NOTHING. There is only rumour, and the hopes of Apple fans.

My apologies, I just recently got a blow to the head.

What are you trying to say?

All the people dissin Alexa don't have an Echo and have no idea why Apple is in so much trouble.

What candy is Android N suppose to be? Is Android doing what Apple did and changing their naming theme for the OS? Now it will be Alphabet letters?
The OS doesn't get it's dessert name until it's released. Kit Kat was K, Lollipop was L, Marshmellow was M, etc. N will probably be Nectarine, Nerds (candy), Nougat, Nutella (my favorite), etc.

Great stuff - but I still don't understand why Google needs separate apps for communications. Why not combine messaging (audio, video, text) into ONE app?

How dare I mention something we all know eh......come on it's an opinion site mate, all views are welcome, just cause you post a lot does not mean you police it ;)

Your bar is different to my bar, as it is to the next person ....

I'm yet to see something from apple to impress me in 2016, last keynote was a boring joke. I'll take this Google announcement as a positive step for people who love tech. I'm don't do blind brand loyalty, I love all tech.

I hope it's Nutella too.

I honestly am just quoting you to tell you that your signature is great.

Agreed. I will never use an Echo, but even I can see that Siri has fallen behind. I've found myself repeating the simple command "start an outdoor bike ride" to my watch lately. By the time it gets it, I could have just opened the app and did it myself.

That being said, the hardware-software integration on Android is just not as good. Either way, you're compromising.

Yes, for seven times the price, SEVEN, my iPhone 6s+ is a little bit better than the Blu One X I just bought as a gift for someone. I think. I'm starting to feel like a chump for being stuck in the Apple ecosystem.

Have you ever worked in any place that had a detailed 5 year roadmap.....good PR material, but not realistic, maybe 24 months max, after that high level goals you want to achieve .

Do you really believe that if jobs was alive we would have the same products today ?

Yes, when I wake at night fumbling in the dark to find the Home button is so much easier than just seeing an always on clock face. You know, like we've had for decades.

or you could stay laying in bed and just say, "ok google, what time is it?" I'm able to say, "hello thermostat, make it two degrees cooler." with my honeywell without lifting a finger.

What is your opposition to having an Echo? You can get a Dot for $90 and it is AMAZING. Why not just get one as a toy to play with? Are you afraid of having your eyes opened to see Apple for what it really is now?

Don't. There are pluses and minuses to both. You're not a chump for choosing one over another, especially when you consider google services are available on both devices.

I don't understand this new obsession with these room devices with a speaker abs microphone that you can talk to. I think most people don't care about issuing commands to a speaker in their room. They can already do all that with their phone or tablet which is always on them.
