Feb update is out, with (checks notes) no features, no security and, you guessed it, no bug fixes. I know next month is the biggie.

Screenshot update Feb.png

Took about 7-8 minutes start to finish, about half of which was for optimizing.

After restarting, a very brief (2-3 seconds at most) odd glitch with a flashing notification about the eSIM saying my carrier is not recognizing it. Other than that, all good.

Thanks for the video Dave. It confirmed what AA, AC, 9to5G and AP were all suggesting that preorders would start Feb 18th. They have also suggested that it is pretty much the same TG4 phone as the 9a. The only question is if it will have a SIM tray? I couldn't tell from that video. Maybe someone can spot whether it has one or not. If it does, i'll buy one.

Edit: I played the vid in slow motion and the SIM tray is there! Yippee!!

It does indeed look like the 10a will have a SIM card tray. Here in the UK all of the Pixel 10 models have a sim tray, I think it was only removed in the US.

I’m more looking forward to seeing what new features will be added in the March Pixel Drop.

According to AP, the camera pill is completely flat whereas last year it was raised. There could be a new color as AP speculates that the Pixel 10 indigo could be added to the 10a. The other thing is the 10a will have a slightly beefier T4 or last years T5. Most are betting it's going to be an overclocked T4.

^ This feature makes moving or sharing files so much easier than it was with my old Samsung J3 (Android 9).

Looks like its a rejig of the settings menu and (finally) the ability to completely remove the At A Glance widget from the homescreen giving you an extra row to play with.

Finally!! that thing hardly gets used, I'd appreciate another row of icons a lot more.

No thanks, I like the Google feed.
See, I just see it as yet another doomscroll I don't need. Sure, you can turn it off but it then wastes a whole swipe-gesture that could be something useful.

They should also steal the camera swipe on the lockscreen as well.

Put your widgets on another screen to the right and swipe that way then?

I’m actually quite shocked that so many people have an issue with At a Glance-think it’s one of the better things Google has implemented.
Same here. Super useful to quickly open weather and calendar. Lacking app space for me is resolved with 5x app columns and folders

I don't use the Pixel launcher so I don't see AAG anyway, but if I ever have to switch back, I'm nuking that thing from orbit. I couldn't stand it being in my way.

That's why it's a nice having Niagara I still like to use it and have it as one of my scrolling widgets

I am not brave enough to try 17 beta 1...maybe 2 or 3 when they have kinks worked out. Also not looking forward to a factory reset it things don't work out....
Yeah I hear you, I mean I have backups and I can always switch phones but I'm enjoying the Pixel so much out of the box I don't want to mess with it.
