This year seems to be about refinements and very little upgrades. Samsung released the S25 range and it was more or less identical to the S24 Ultra. Google seem to be following the trend and judging by the rumours so do Apple. I will obviously wait until the event, but at the moment I’m on the fence about upgrading my phones this year, that includes my iPhone 15 Pro Max which i may stick with from another year.

The only reason I got the s25U was because I stupidly sold my 24u and my P9P XL was a bit unreliable for a bit, and now the hardware is fixed, the software is buggy lol.

Ignoring the .1 version, Samsung etal have been on UFS 4.0 for ages, whereas google lags on 3.1.
Okay. But I know Samsung has been on UFS 4.0 for awhile now, thats why I responded to that post.

Samsung has been using UFS 4.1 or 4.0 for a good couple years now. Where Google has been on 3.1 a long time.
I was only making it known that UFS 4.1 hasn't been adopted globally.

I was hoping for a new version/design of the Pixel Watch…something akin to the Apple Watch Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra but sadly, looks like a mostly iterative year across all of the product lines.

I believe Samsung are offering a 100 day returns policy on the Fold 7 and Flip 7. Not sure it’s region specific tho.
I think it's just the UK, they are offering a lot of offers at the moment. I nearly pushed the button on a watch 8, got it down to £150ish for the 44mm with student discount, trade in, and paypal discount as my watch ultra is just a bit too bulky, but decided that I'm gonna sell that and stick with my Garmin

I do have to say that i like the look of the Watch 8, the new design just appeals. The Pixel Watch 3 looks great as well in that bigger size. I’m an Apple Watch user and i just prefer it, the square design doesn’t look as good as the round one, but at least text isn't cut off the sides.

I have been thinking about trying a Pixel Watch, since I’ve never had one. I have had a Galaxy Watch tho and did like the rotating bezel.

Fitbit is appealing and with Google One Fitbit premium is included at no extra charge.

I do actually prefer the look of the pixel watch, but I got the ultra for £200ish instead of 599 so seemed like a deal, but it's probably going on eBay soon.

What does Fitbit’s service offer over Google Fit or Samsung Health? Genuinely curious, especially since there’s a subscription for it.

I’ve tried switching from an Apple Watch to a Wear OS device multiple times and find that I just can’t do it. The ecosystem of apps and quality of the app just doesn’t compare, at least for my needs. But what I have found is I can sync everything from my Apple Watch to Google Fit on my iPhone. Then I have access to all of the data on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold as well.

if I ever do find I can switch to a Wear OS device, I’ll have all of my health data to wait for me.

Google Fit? I've never heard of that  , I'll have to look it up. The only I would give Fitbit a go is because the premium version is part of Google One subscription.

I do agree that Apple Watch has the edge, there is just something about the OS and the apps. I have used Samsung Watches a couple of times, I have always gone back to my Apple Watch, mainly because the tracking has always been more reliable on the Apple Watch.

Google Fit appears to be Google's approximation of Apple Fitness. Great thing about it though, as I mentioned, is that it's cross platform and can read/write to Apple Health. So even if I decide to switch to my Pixel 9PF as my daily driver, I can still I directly have my fitness data from my Apple Watch synced to Google Fit (as long as I have an iPhone as backup) and subsequently Google's Health Connect.

That’s really good, as it stands at the moment I can’t sync my health data from my Apple Watch to my S24 Ultra. I have my iPhone as my daily driver and the S24 Ultra as a secondary phone. I have been wanting to switch it up and try a Pixel, hence waiting for the Pixel 10. But I didn’t know about Google Fit and being able to transfer to both iPhone and Pixel. That’s would helpful.

Well, like me, you could sync your data across both platforms. Go download Google Fit (App Store and Google Play) on both your iPhone and S24 Ultra (may already be there). Also download Health Connect on your S24 Ultra. Open Google Fit on your iPhone--should ask if you want to allow it to connect with Apple Health. Then set up both Google Fit and Health Connect on your S24 (should ask similar questions to allow the two apps to speak to each other). So now, fitness and much of your health data collection on your iPhone will be shared with Google Fit and thus, with Health Connect.

You just will have to occasionally open Google Fit on the iPhone to refresh it's data from Apple Health.

I am hoping the announcement mentions something about increased durability. The 9-series had a few reports of the camera housing detaching. It wasn't enough cases to cause a panic, but it gave me concern enough to get my wife the 9a instead of the 9 Pro. Rumor is that the 9 Pro Fold is going to IP68, but that only maters if the camera bar stays attached. Any crack there can ruin the dust and water resistance of the device.
