An even quicker way is to bring low power mode into control center and once activated will cap the refresh rate to 60Hz.You can limit it to 60hz max in the display accommodations settings.

You cant see the difference between 60hz and 120hz on a 60hz screen, nor a 60fps video for that matter.I don’t think it makes a huge difference on a phone. It you saw the YouTube comparisons of an older iPhone and the new one side by side you couldn’t really tell a difference.
Lol
There’s the complainer! You knew the notch was different. Just looking to complain. But hey, misery loves company so carry on!
Yea, this is nuts. The animations are insane.I’m sorry you aren’t noticing the difference:/ I’m not gonna lie my expectations were tempered and I’m kind of blown away at this point. I didn’t realize just how much smoother the animations and scroll performance would look. Paired with my iPad Pro this is nirvana hahaha
That’s probably because the response times of OLED are light years ahead of the 120Hz iPad Pro’s. 120Hz slow response time LCD is night and day difference to me from fast response time 120Hz OLED.I notice the 120 hz more on my iPhone 13 Pro Max than I do on my 2017 iPad Pro. Though that may be due to time and newer PadOS's slowing the 2017 iPad Pro down....
Yup, good call. What I’m reading though is that while Apple uses the Samsung screens they are built according to their specifications. I’m not a display expert but ProMotion seems more polished than the Samsung tech. But to each his own.S21 ultra does variable refresh rate from 10hz to 120hz
Thanks for the tip. The Max will be an even bigger battery beast with it limited to 60hz but I prefer the 120hz
Enabled.

I think some people aren't noticing it, because iOS was already SO smooth. This just made it smoother. That is also why Apple got away with not having a 120hz display for so long. It doesn't have that *jankiness* that most Android phones (outside of the Pixel) without 120hz used to have.
Quoting myself. ProMotion is incredible. I couldn’t go back to 60hz. Honestly, if this was the only upgrade to this year’s iPhones I’d have bought one.Just got the new iPhone 13 Pro Max set up. The new 120hz is incredible. I simply can’t fathom someone not noticing. It’s fantastic. Being able to scroll text and read it at the same time is just wonderful.
PS This is coming from a 12 Pro Max. I’m in heaven right now.
That's probably because the YouTube video wasn't 120fps. For what it's worth, 120Hz on the new iPhone is moderately impactful at best.I don’t think it makes a huge difference on a phone. It you saw the YouTube comparisons of an older iPhone and the new one side by side you couldn’t really tell a difference.
yeah....becomes it makes sense that it is better on the smaller screen. I do get get the difference on an TV or larger display (I do own both Next Gen Consoles with a capable TV and 120Hz is awesome in the games that support it). But for an iPhone screen - I couldn't care less. It’s even better than on the iPad Pro
Yep even better here because you’re combining the instant pixel response time of OLED with 120hz motion. It’s glooooorious and much nicer than even the latest mini LED iPad Pro.Are you serious? The first thing I noticed was how smooth this is. I have an iPad Pro but it's so much more noticeable on the iPhone. Just switching between pages, it's like the icons are floating. What an awesome experience - especially since this was the least thing I was excited about.
Oh no.I barely see a difference with the new 120 Hz Promotion refresh rate…
Am I alone?
