So, is it worth getting locked in to a cell carrier for 30 months? I’m debating trading in my 12 Pro for T-Mobile’s deal and getting the 13 Pro, but I’d be committing to 30 months work T-Mobile and their highest cost plan (which I’m currently on anyway).

Battery improvements and ProMotion are the only two things that I care about. Just not sure if care enough to upgrade.

I’m not quite sure what OP is talking about, but as someone who’s owned everyone iPhone since the beginning, and having 20/20 vision, the 120hz might single handedly be the best addition to the iPhone. EVERYTHING opens much smoother, scrolling around text flows etc etc. Its mind blowing how great it is, and you will never be able to go back to anything else.

Agreed. I don’t get mine until Monday. Stopped in at bestbuy to play with a demo unit. The 120hz was breath taking. Extremely noticeable. I think this is why Apple waited so long to implement 120hz. So many regular iPhone users don’t care about it enough so they had to build the hype for a few years. Of course that will let down people who never cared for 120hz anyway.

Truth, truth, truth. It’s not exaggeration. It’s magnificent.

Just watched this video on YouTube and then saw this thread. Lol

Looks like iphone 13 pm 120hz is more likely a 90hz, lol

I love this new 120hz screen. Ever since the 10.5” iPad Pro I’ve been waiting for this day.

But I’ll acknowledge that lots of people don’t see the difference. Those are like color blind people who have trouble discerning colors. No matter how hard you try, you can’t convince someone with bad eyes what they’re missing.

I noticed it right away during the initial set up.

I’m honestly more distracted by iOS 15. I never updated my other iPhones to it. It’s weird having the url address window on the bottom now.

I do think 120 hz is a tiny bit smoother on my s21 Ultra, but my phone is still indexing or whatever it is new phones do that slows them down the first day.

Honestly I’m just relieved that so far PWM isn’t bothering me and that the display isn’t some weird color.

You can move the address bar back up top in Safari Settings or by pressing the AA icon in the Safari address bar.

I haven’t had the chance to see it on an iPhone yet, but when Comparing iPads the difference is significant. I compared the Air 4 to the iPad Pro and the difference was night and day. The Air felt slow and laggy. Everything just dragged. It really brought down the entire experience of using the Air. I’m looking forward to seeing on the iPhone. I’m very picky about screens so I know I’m going to notice a difference. I’ll post back when I get my pro!

The 120hz is very noticeable right away. Might need to see an eye doctor if you can’t notice the difference. I don’t mean that in a snarky way either.

Coming from the 12 Pro Max the first thing I noticed was the difference in smoothness. Scrolling in Twitter, the OS animations and touching app icons, everything is much smoother to my eyes. I see a big difference. Is that a game changer? Of course not, but it’s a good reason to upgrade. It makes the whole user experience much better.

Well apparently there is a little bit of something going on with iPhone 120hz, could be a bug…

iPhone 13 Pro's 120Hz display limits some third-party app animations to 60Hz

Reading the comments here where some see a huge difference and others not, reminds me of when OLED came to the iPhone. It was touted as a massive difference, people could never go back to LCD. My first OLED iPhone was the 12 I have now and for me I couldn’t see much difference and remain convinced people over hyped it. This looks like a similar scenario.

OLED advantages could be seen in black levels mainly in low light when the higher contrast ratio would be evident. Also, the battery life improvements when using the phone in dark mode which turns off pixels not being used.

60Hz > 120Hz is a display “performance” enhancement and quantifiable. You could say it is subjective in terms of whether users notice it or not but anyone can see this clearly if recording both a 12 PM and 13 PM with a high speed camera and comparing the frame rates.
