Seems like the ones who purchased the iPhone pro 13 and stating that it feels smoother or twice as smoother are doing so for their own peace of mind. I know it helps you feel better about your purchase. That's ashame. (P.S. if you are coming from anything less than a iPhone 11, you will think this way and it's true for you; it will feel at the least smoother).
What a bunch of nonsense. As soon as I turned it on I noticed a difference. I also game at 120Hz on my PC though, so I already knew how different 120Hz can be versus 60Hz.

Please dont assume you are thinking for me, you are not. It does actually feel smoother, and no thats not to justify anything at all. I detest posts where people assume they know perfect strangers minds and why they post things telling the world and its dog just that. Maybe you are posting because you are justifying not having it, although I really dont care, but please don't speak for me or think you know me, your post has no validity in casting aspersions on others reasoning. No matter what your armchair psychology 101 course from MacRumors tells you.

I notice it on my 13 Pro, but it’s not what it’s hyped to be IMHO.

I’ve had it on my iPad Pro since 2017 and I can take it or leave it.

Using max outside today I actually was thinking how well I can see everything in the sunlight. Definitely very brights screen. Best iPhone screen in years for me.

Nonsense, that's not the case at all.
If that wasn’t the case, you would perceive a fluorescent light as a flickering hell - not as a steady beam of light.
Fluorescent lights flicker at 50Hz (60Hz in North America & Japan). While some people suffer from high refresh rate disorder and cannot tolerate fluorescent lights, most humans have no such issue because they can’t distinguish anything above 48Hz anyway.

who r u(never mind don’t want to know likewise), I think you r overthinking things lol and went off of this threads topic. We are just debating on 120 hz and promotion with the latest iPhones. Take a chill pill. And your post was long enough to show that you do care. And you were not the only one I was discussing my post to But you inferred that you are.

P.S. #FREEBRITNEY and don’t take it personal.

I’ve compared the ProMotion on the 13 PM to my 2020 iPad Pro and the 13 implementation looks superior. Not sure what it is, maybe OLED > LCD, or the higher resolution? The text just looks clearer and smoother when navigating.

Some people don’t see a difference and feel indifferent to the feature which is fine. However, others (like myself) noticed the major benefit immediately and that opinion should be equally respected.

Agreed and I see the difference as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a difference the screen on the 13PM actually was. Everything is smoother and easier on the eyes - I compared it yesterday to the transition to newer HDTVs where the picture was so smooth it looked fake.

The Human eye cannot distinguish anything above 48Hz. That’s an empirical fact. Anyone who says otherwise is an ignorant fool.

Nonsense, yes you can. I can tell a video game running at 30hz to 60hz to 120hz. The way things move and more fluidity is pretty obvious. Even TV screens you can tell the difference when the source frame rates changes for some calls this the soap opera affect as the frame rate goes higher. I noticed it right away on the new 13 running at 120hz. Hell I even turned it off and can easily see a big difference. I would say for those who cannot tell a difference probably not into gaming at higher frame rates or care what their TV can display.

That’s the soap opera affect on TVs that many people hate but I love it on my OLED TV capable up to 120hz. Most people just don’t understand or aware how big of a difference frame rates make to screens. Gamers who loves to play at higher frame rates will understand.

By the way anyone noticed Apple opted for a more neautral or even bluish calibration for the screen this time? In the past they’ve have gone warmer for what some calls yellow screen.

Don't just pull some text from an online article you've read somewhere and spout it as fact.

The 48Hz myth is back from the days of old crt televisions.

I could tell, but to me it was not as obvious as on the iPad Pro vs. regular iPads

could be one of two things for me -

1- screen size makes a difference in perception
2- 60hz vs 120hz LED makes a bigger difference than I think 90hz OLED to 120hz OLED?

It's not something I was dramatically impressed by to be frank. Would be nice to have in a future iPhone upgrade, but not a reason for me to upgrade from 12 pro (personally)

ymmv

I don’t think it’s as good as the iPad Pro which runs steady at 120hz. The new chips in the 13 ProMAX and the OLED display allow Apple to run the 13 ProMAX 120hz display in real-time at 10hz to 120hz and anywhere in between on the fly. And even with fast scrolling I’m guessing it stays at 90hz
It’s miles better than iPad ProMotion. Why? Because OLED already gives you that fantastic instant pixel response. Now you double the frame rate and the difference is otherworldly. I have an M1 iPad Pro right here to compare to, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max is noticeably sharper when scrolling text. Don’t get me wrong, I love the iPad Pro’s smoothness, but there’s no comparison which looks better - iPhone 13 Pro. I can much more easily read text when scrolling on the phone than the iPad. It’s just dream-like on the iPhone.

Go to an older device and you’ll quickly miss it
So maybe someone can suggest a better test, but i loaded the same web page on my 13PM and my 12PM held them side by side and don't notice much difference in scrolling. Not being negative, just trying to see what people are seeing in this as a big improvement.

The soap opera effect sucks because they aren’t real frames the TV makes them up, real high frame rate is better because the frames are made up by AI.
