Refurb Space Black S5 for $579 or Graphite S6 for $749? Like the color of Space Black way more, but S6 has better internals.
I bought the SS graphite S6 and am delighted with it coming from SBSS S5.

I’m really torn on which one to keep. I’ve had the graphite since Friday and really like the look of it better then the black Ti. But maybe that because I’ve had the s5 black Ti for a year. I still like the titanium and the idea of it. The $100 price difference is not and issue but one needs to go back and then I need to sell my black ti s5. Anyone else in the same boat?

I’ve got both sitting here just delivered this morning. The titanium is going back.

if ur just going to use it with Milanese loop or leather loop IMO the graphite suits it much better because of its shine.

With the rubber loops the black titanium can blend in better.

so it’s up to u

I like the look of the graphite band that comes with the graphite over the gray band on the titanium. I usually don’t change bands and always stick to the Apple sports band that comes with it. By far the most comfy as I sleep in it.

I’m so torn that I’m considering returning both titanium S6 models and graphite too!

It’s got me thinking... What is it about my SS series 4 am I that unhappy with?

The answer is... Nothing. Maybe I’ll wait until a real design update. Ugh.

There's a Graphite band? I didn't see an option for this when ordering mine.

Actually it’s a the regular black but has the matching graphite pin. I’m ocd about the pin matching the watch.

Looking at all these titanium and SS watches makes me want one... 🤤

I would probably regret the heavier weight if I got one though LOL

Can you really feel that difference? I'm used to wearing an Omega Speedmaster that weigh in at 130g :) so maybe I've built up som tolerance.

I've owned aluminum and stainless.

Side by side yes you can discern a difference.

In practice though IMHO it doesn't make a difference. Even when running.

Let's also remember how many serious athletes run with the 62 gram Fenix6. (I once had an earlier model)

zollotech has just dropped a video of the Space Black Titanium Series 6.

Neither I was sure whether to go for the gSS or SBTi when it was presented - finally ordered the SBTi - can’t wait to see it in person. In the meantime I have a good feeling that my choice was the right one for me.

Even though the Stainless Steel may look more classy I like the stealthy and interestingly shining yet matt look of the SB Titanium more.

The reduced weight is an additional argument for sport.

I prefer a more understated watch with premium materials but also exude a certain elegance, SBTi and Ti completely fit that bill for me and were the Apple Watch materials I’ve been waiting for since S0.

The graphite looks nice though and you can’t really go wrong whichever you chose.

Yes it has - by direct answer of Apple personnel when asked by the press after the Series 5 launch.

Why Apple does not mention it on either the Series 5 or Series 6 Technical Specification pages? No idea.

The coating on the SBTi may have changed for Series 6, since it shows more brushed metal through the finish, so that's where there's a little concern. Do we have confirmation about the S6, specifically?

Do we have confirmation about the S6, specifically?

It seems unlikely they would go away from it having used it in the Series 5. They might have just changed the dye used in the coating since many complained that Ti and SBTi look like Al and SBAl from a distance of more than a meter or two.

I suppose you could send an email to Jeff Williams at Apple and ask.

I also found via Google's Cache of the old Apple Watch Edition page for the Series 5 confirmation that it is a DLC coating for the S5 (and assuredly for the S6):

The space black titanium finish uses a diamond-like coating, making it both beautiful and incredibly durable.
