I thought the iPad Pros were rumored to be launched via press release anyway.

I would really like to see an upgraded Apple TV with the A14 or higher, and also curious to see if they release a less expensive version.

Apple TV with A14 and 4GB of ram should be able to do a lot more than just steam video. Hopefully the UI team can add functionality to the thing.

I mean, I guess the two-year transition was already a bust when they announced at WWDC that everything had been transitioned except the Mac Pro (marking two years since the M-series was announced). Now I guess they have nothing to lose by pushing the Mac Pro to next spring or WWDC. Almost makes me wonder if the Mac Pro even makes sense with Apple Silicon. It can't even be modular anymore.

I like to watch Apple events but too many "events" at Apple Park is boring. Have an event somewhere else. Launch new products at interesting places around the world.

A MacBook M2 Pro Pro with HDMI 2.1 and 120 Hz on external Displays and Face ID would be perfect.

I cannot see Apple releasing a MacPro without having an event.
True, but they also need a Mac Pro to release (or at least a promise of one in a few months time). The rumoured 4x "Extreme" chip may be waiting on 3nm chips - plus we haven't even seen an "M2 Max" from which an "Extreme" could be made yet.

These events are probably very expensive to put on, especially since they are bringing back press folks to the campus. It just would not make sense doing in person for three products and inconvenience journalist to fly out, pay for catering and on top of put on a costly production filming so they could sit in Apple Park and watch it.

They will just have their special one on one with key folks like iJustine, MKBHD, The Verge, CNET and so on.

I'm wondering about the new base iPad, which is allegedly getting a redesign.

With Mac Studio in the lineup, I see little need for a Mac that is more "pro". And yes, with Apple SoC, modularity would not be what it is with the current Intel Mac Pro.

Just don't use it then if it ever comes with it? The more options the user has to choose from the better, I don't see what's bad on that. And by the way, under the screen finger print sensors work pretty good on Androids, I don't see why Apple couldn't make something even more reliable and then it's up to the user to choose which one to use depending on the situation.

You are talking about it like it's just another obsolete technology, yet it's still on your Mac...

Gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there, Bob. Under screen finger print sensors do not work well on Android. People in the Android world have been bemoaning the move from capacitive sensors on the back, to a much slower, worse placed, and more unreliable under-screen sensor on the front.

It is entirely Gurman’s own personal opinion that their will be no event, he hasn’t shared a shred of evidence to back it up and even stated it was his personal opinion.
Well, yes, it's all rumours, guesses based on limited data from the supply chain and "leaks" from sources who are, by definition, unreliable.

However, it does make sense:

- The MacBook Air and MBP 13" waited 18 months for an update. The 14/16" MBPs aren't a year old yet, so don't hold your breath.
- M1 Pro/Max already include some of the M1->M2 improvements so M2 Pro/Max MBPs might not be a big deal to shout about & could get a press release launch.
- 14/16" MBPs and "M2" Pro/Max/Ultra/Extreme might wait for 3nm to be available next year.
- A M2 Mac Mini would be a nice update from the M1, but unspectacular and wouldn't need more than a press release.
- Ditto a M2 iMac 24 - useful but unsexy update
- iMac 27"/iMac Pro is probably gone for the foreseeable - deal with it.
- Mac Pro could be underwhelming (think: rackmount Studio Ultra) or waiting for 3nm Extreme chip/hypothetical Xeon killer.

Almost makes me wonder if the Mac Pro even makes sense with Apple Silicon. It can't even be modular anymore.

The trashcan Mac Pro was a failure with professionals because it wasn’t modular so they worked with those professionals to come out with the current model. Now I wonder if they’ll throw all that out and go back to a non-modular design again.

TouchID is dead. Ive had no issues with FaceID and much prefer it, especially now that face masks are a thing of the past too......
I still hate Face ID on iPhones, despite having a Face ID iPhone for 2 years now.

Well, "hate" is a strong word. Perhaps it's better described as "really dislike".

Ironically, I prefer it on iPads, but I have a Touch ID iPad Pro. Why the different preferences? Cuz the usage pattern is very different on iPads than iPhones.
