I actually don't like the hole-punch, it looks like a black zit, visually I find it a bit disturbing.

I always liked the notch, I think it looks a lot better and I never understood the negativity around it (on new MacBooks especially). Personally, I would like to have a (maybe smaller) notch until they can put everything behind the screen.

Here’s an innovative idea, Apple could increase the bezel up top just a little bit, to squish or remove the notch.

I just moved to an iPhone 12 mini from an 8. The notch has never given me heartburn, but there are times I wish there was more real estate in the header, for more information. I miss seeing the battery percentage. The notch’s taking up over half of the top header space is a negative trade-off I personally would not have picked, but then again, I’m not a blinders-wearing member of the anti-bezel society.

Looks like iPhone 14 Pro will be an excellent upgrade. Will be interesting to see wireless charging on iPad Pro!
Yes sir! It will be. Major design overall + titanium frame. I’m already sold. I really
Hope you are upgrading @svish this is the year! Hopefully, you will be joining the pre-ordering thread this year. Save your $$$ now. Let’s go!!!

I just wish the notch would show on my pictures and videos when I send them to my friends so they see what I see on my device. Someone needs to make an app that does it, adds the notch to all your pictures/videos. :p

Apple probably will keep the notch on the iPhone. They just adopted it on the Macbook pro and will likely do so on future macbook airs and iMacs. It should be a lot smaller than previous ones but if they plan on integrating more cameras and sensors in all future macs to work better with their VR implementation, they will need room for several more cameras and sensors not in current models. So the notch is dumb now but they are getting you used to it so when they fully utilize it they will have gotten the public used to the notch and not questioning why there has to be so much new surveillance equipment on their computer.

Would like to see some bright colours. Bright red or orange? Product RED for Pro lineup may be good. Wonder what will be the new flagship colour
I agree 100%. We need bright colors. Product red would be amazing. Heck, I'll buy two of them for myself 😂

This year I have a feeling we are expected to see matte black or maybe bronze?

If the new phones keep progressing like they have been over the past few generations, I hope Apple put a contoured hand grip on the camera bump so you can easily hold the phone by it with one hand (sarcasm...)

The phones have been getting thicker. The cameras keep getting bigger as well due to sensors. There is no choice but bigger if you want better cameras.
Apple could make the iPhone 14 Pro thick enough to get rid of the camera bump and use that extra thickness for a bigger battery. Using titanium would stop the phone from getting heavier. Also a pill cutout makes more sense than a punch hole and would accommodate FaceID (with further miniaturization).

Enough with improving the hardware when the software doesn’t even take advantage of the hardware from 3 cycles ago.
Then, please provide examples of how the software specifically doesn’t take advantage of the hardware. Which models are you inferring.

TouchID isn't coming back to the iPhones when Apple has the Apple Watch workaround.
I think your post requires more specificity. This isn’t a claim you can make, given how unpredictable Apple is. You don’t know that touch ID might be re-formatted where it’s implemented differently. (I-e-Embedded under the display.)

Furthermore, don’t you think Apple has taken into account not everybody owns an Apple Watch? Yes it’s a workaround, but it’s an accessory to the iPhone. As popular as it is, it’s not a valid argument when it’s compared to the popularity of the iPhone.

Plus, we do know Apple hasn’t entirely removed touch ID from their products, especially given there’s another rumored iPhone late spring 2022 that very may well include Touch ID similarly to the iPhone 8 build.

Looking forward to the new MacBook Air with a mini-led display, I just hope they have black bezels.

I just want them to move the power button back to the top of the device!
You’re not taking into account how large these phones are manufactured currently in Apples line up. That worked with the likes of a smaller device with the 2016 iPhone SE.

With reachability with one handed operation, that would make it nearly impossible for the majority to use one hand manipulation to reach the power button on top of the phone, whereas you can do so with your thumb one-handed when it’s located on the side.

Apple actually extended the length of the power button on the newer iPhone models, just to make it more reachable, where the power button was shorter in length on the iPhone 8 Plus.
