Thanks for asking. When I originally bought an iPad Pro, I frankly expected it to be a casual-game machine and a way to do some routine chores on the couch and little else.So what are you all using an iPad Pro for? Curious.
As I used it, I began to understand what it could do, and I started using my MacBook Pro less … and less … and less. I do a lot of writing, and since I like to do that in a variety of places from libraries to coffeeshops and parks, I found that taking the iPad with my Magic Keyboard out was much lighter but no less productive than taking my 15“ MPB.
Recently I have learned that the main thing I really, really needed my MBP for (editing a handful of audio tracks) can also be done on an iPad … even an iPad mini (!!). I also really enjoy watching movies on the iPad Pro (with AirPods) on the plane!
My most used apps are writing apps (several), Slack & Trello, the various Apple apps for everyday productivity, the News app, the social media apps, photo-editing apps, a few Apple Arcade games, and my streaming-services apps. The iPad Pro can also be connected to a hub, which has proven handy on rare occasion (particularly for adding material on a USB-A thumb drive to my iPad).
I‘m by no means ready to sell my Macs, but … they do get kinda lonely more and more often these days …
