Not even close to iPad Mini size. Don't imagine it larger than it is. Here's a comparison that should clearly illustrate how much smaller it is than a mini: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ufzp4gowu1sa6xb/AADVfpM7--3jbq-i20B52eXOa?dl=0

Why I want a "phone" that large? First, I hardly ever use the phone part. So I really want a bigger-screen-but-still-pocketable computer that happens to also have phone functionality for the occasional times I need to take or make a call. Personally, I see this as an iPad Mini Mini- all of the great features of the iPad in a pocketable size… with a bonus of full iPhone Phone functionality too. Instead of owning an iPhone AND an iPad Mini, I'm hoping this hits the ideal middle ground and kills 2 birds with one stone.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

Still no wireless charging? That's a big let down. My 5s spends more time plugged into the wall than it does being used.

So then it'll be sitting on a mat or in a dock which is harder to use than a plug hanging from the bottom. Wireless charging doesn't magically send electricity to your phone in the air.

I can see more women than men buying the larger size because they have purses to carry stuff in. Men have to stuff this into their pants pocket and hope to not flex and break it. After putting a case on the plus it's going to be too clunky. So, it's good we have the smaller option.

Galaxy Note N7000

Launch Date: 2011
Features:
NFC, Barometer (nice to check local weather trends), 8MP rear camera, dual-core, 1GB RAM.

I know, there are subtle differences, but... c'mon, Apple. You're launching something as innovative as 2011 tech like if it was a big deal. Hopefully, the software developers will turn iOS 8 a killer mobile operating system, but wait: Siri still doesn't speak portuguese when Google and Samsung already does it for years.

All hopes will be deposited on iOS, because hardware-wise it looks pretty outdated.

1. NFC that no one used. Apple Pay will change that.
2. 8MP of crappy pixels.
3. Dual core that's half as fast
4. 1GB true
5. Barometer true.

1) Lol, until apple says it's "ready"

7) lol, it works 99% of the time. Try taking selfie without voice activated shutter; but iPhone doesn't have it so it's not useful

In English? I believe Apple sell the phone to other countries too. Apple don't have to cater only US customers.

----------

Samsungs Note Edge is innovation and something different, the iPhone 6 Plus offers nothing, oh apart from OIS, other than just a bigger iPhone with a few OS tweaks.
Even Sony's Z2 is different as it's water and dust proof, the Z3 even more so.

Note Edge innovation my ass. Ask left handed people how to use that Edge...It's a half baked product without thinking through.

One handed mode seems amazingly simple and intuitive.

Yes, Apple lovers can thank Samsung for designing the system that Apple copied.

It's the same as what's on my Note 3 that I've enjoyed for the past year. Apple was wise to copy it.

Am I the only one that think the iPhone 5S looks much nicer and more "premium" than the 6?

I would have been very satisfied with an iphone 5S design with a 5" screen and slightly thinner.

I was one saying the same thing about iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4S when it was announced. I learned my lesson not to say anything until I hold one in my hand.

----------

Ready for a 128GB 6+ but without a plan... So what is that going to be? $1000?

$959 to be exact...in US...lol.

----------

IVE is gonna get FIRED.

After iPhone 6 sale reaches the record high in shortest time and maintain the lead until next refresh...Keep dreaming.

While I can only imagine how much it will cost at full-price, FINALLY an Apple phone I can get really excited about and get back to after owning Note II and Note 3. Thank you Apple for listening! Multiple phone sizes, what a concept!
I'll be buying it as soon as it is released, between the awesome camera, right size and iOS 8, I'm sold.

How is a mat harder to use? The iPhone rings, I pick it up. Then put it back down to carry on charging when I've finished the call. Better than having to fumble with a cable to unplug it to answer.

Yes. This is the first time I will wait for reviews and personally using the device before ordering.

Apple should release demos to the store early, if they were smart.

100% agree. Apple is now a reactive company. Copying phone design from Samsung, rushing to announce the iWatch 6 months before release out of fear of competitors.

Copy design from Samsung? you must be out of your f,cking mind. What design from Samsung? Don't say screen size or I flip a booger in your face.

So in the end, Apple steals the HTC One M8 design and makes it uglier?

First time I think having an android/windows phone that is better looking then the iPhone..

I sort of agree... unfortunately. I was really hoping all those leaks weren't going to be the actual iPhone 6, but guess they were. The lines on the back def have a purpose, but still look ugly. I am completely un-wowed by Apple's design here, but at this point that's every new Apple product. Beautiful and simple, borrowing from iPad or vice versa, but not awesome as it could be. My thoughts on my need for the iPhone Plus... "I want to know what it feels like if my hand shrunk!"

I'm a normal size adult male, and carry my Note III in front pocket with no issues whatsoever. And for smaller pockets, we have iPhone 6 and still selling 5S. Finally, a size selection!

Um, I'm pretty sure Samsung has the patent for 5.5" screen sizes, rounded corners was already taken.

Leaked pics of the aluminum chassis show that those are not painted lines but insets, presumable of a non-interfering material.

Think of it this way, a phone is useless when it cannot receive and send microwave signals. In that respect, an aluminum case is a trade-off since microwave signals do not pass through aluminum. The 5S used glass at the top and bottom, but glass doesn't work in a design with curved edges, so an alternative had to be used.

Makes sense but why not colour them to match the back colour so you don't notice the lines or make them bold so they add to the design like on the HTC One.

That is a opinion first of all. The black iPhone 6 looks gorgeous in the video and they look even better in person usually. I don't see how the htc one m8 is even close to being better looking. and samsung is just flat out strange lately with the note edge, the back of the note 3 with fake leather plastic and the s5 looking back.

That 6+ looks like an iPad Mini. SMH I will never understand why someone needs a phone that large. Get a tablet.

My hands are big enough to use it with one hand with a little adjusting. Also, if I can kill two birds with one stone, why not? 5.5 would be the only iOS device I need.

I don't agree with you on the HTC One M8. The design looks really good IMHO.

What is fake leather plastic? I don't own a S5 but from what I've seen the back is leather isn't it?

This guy sums it up. I want as big of a phone as can be before it stops being mobile. Tablets aren't really mobile, they're couch devices to me.

I love the curve glass on the edge...

I start to falling in love with you...

A 5.5 inch phone that does not take advantage of the bigger screen, facepalm Apple.. We can read the internet pages on a 4.7. We can see our pictures on a 4.7. We can do everything on the 4.7, because you do not take advantage of the large 5.5 display. Why?

I do not think that people just wants bigger screens to get bigger screens. People wants bigger screens, because of the features the bigger screen gives you. Where is the possibility to have 2 apps open at the same time on the screen? Where is the possibility to have an app minimized on the screen, while using another. Yes, I know, these are Samsung features, but damn it, thats what the size of the display is for! Taking advantage of it! A pen would be lovely, but I can understand that they do not put that in. But 2 app on one screen and movable icons from a minimized app open on another app is really useful features.

A Note 4 with its pen features with iOS8 and iPhone look would be king! Said in another way, an Apple iPhone 6+ with a pen and real multitasking possibilities would be king.

The 5.5 iPhone is not useful in any way. The 4.7 is easier in the pocket and brings a great size for watching videos, browsing the internet and so on. The 5.5 should take advantage of its bigger screen, it does not. Therefore, it is a useless product, they should just have released the 4.7 if they have no clue of the possibilities with a 5.5 display.

What about the iPad like dual pane windows when rotated in landscape? That takes advantage of the 5.5 screen. And right now it's just apple apps but developers can go crazy with this ability in the future. No?

Pen, stylus..these things are 15 years ago. If you want pen, go to Note. Apple users hate pen.
