Before the iphone 6 and 6+ sells more phones then ever before in apples history or After?

You got the funnies.

I don't agree with the criticism in the comment to which you responded to, but I find your argument to be downright stupid.

Do you use a Mac? Because Windows sells more than OS X, so by your reasoning Windows is superior.

Even iOS will eventually fall behind Android in total market share. Does that mean Android is superior to iOS?

Sales figures actually say very little about the worth of a product.

The iPhone looks better than I had expected it to with those ugly bands... I wish they could've done the bands like the iPad... I would've much rather seen a smaller iPad than a blown up iPod Touch.

I just can't use cases. Never have. Also, a phone is not an investment. It's a (quickly) depreciating asset, and that's if you buy outright.

I cannot imagine using an iPhone without a case. One drop and there goes over a $500 investment. That's why most of us don't know anyone who uses an iPhone without a case.

The protruding camera lens bothered me at first, but in a quality case the lens should be flush with the case exterior, which is actually quite cool. The lines on the back are functional, they provide superior Wi-Fi and LTE speeds.

If you don't care about function and buy a phone to show off, then I suggest getting a humongous Android Phablet. I saw an aluminum phablet the other day that I swear was nearly as big as my Nexus 7 tablet. The guy using it got lots of looks, though I suspect most were of the "what a tool!" variety.

I'm guessing it isn't a good sign when Apple's stock closes lower on the day it announces new products either, right?

It's common, just ignore it.

Hype overinflates expectations, then when Apple doesn't feature the return of The Jesus, investors bail. The best time to buy Apple stock is when it craters after these product intros.

btw, the Watch is going to be freakin' huge. If I had the cash I'd hoover up Apple shares right about now...

iPhone 6+ Not Aimed At You

I think many of the folks in this thread who slam the 6+ are missing the point. Yes, there are some people here who REALLY want a 6+. But most of us want the 6.

So who will buy a boatload the 6+'s? Contractors and small business people, . A huge number of these folks run their businesses out of their phones. And that doesn't include a lot of people in large business who no longer carry their laptop.

Most of these folks use large non-Apple devices. Prior iPhones? Not a chance. Too small. So the 6+ is too big to comfortably carry in your pocket? Who cares? Too large to use with one hand? Who cares? To these folks, any large smartphone is WAY smaller to carry around than any laptop or tablet.

IMO, the 6 is a great upgrade to prior iPhones, but the 6+ is a great alternative to a laptop. A 6 is useful, lightweight tool for reading content. Not as good as an iPad, but you can't carry an iPad in your pocket. A 6+ is a lightweight tool for managing content (like a small business).

Next time you see a contractor, ask him/her if you can look at their smartphone and what they want in a future smartphone. I think you'll be surprised.

Do you mean huge in popularity or in size? Lol jk

The standard in the stock trading world is, "Buy the rumor; sell the news." This is normal.

Call whatever you like, I call computer hardware an investment because I get a lot of use out of it. Not all returns are in the form of cash.

Sorry you can't use a case. Guess you'll have to pick up one of those giant aluminum Android phablets. No iPhone for you!

My First Impressions

Most of us knew how the iPhone 6 would look like for a while now. Some people were hoping the mockups were fakes, mainly because of the antenna bands. I don't like them myself, but a case will fix that. The 4.7" iPhone 6 doesn't look much bigger than the 5s and even the 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus looks "manageable". Of course, I'll have to hold it at the Apple store to know for sure. I was surprised that the camera didn't get a more significant upgrade. A more significant camera upgrade is probably being held back for the 6s, in addition to the rumored sapphire display. The larger screen is probably the most significant upgrade to the iPhone 6 and for some people, that may not be enough. Sales will probably be record-breaking, but I still think a good number of people were a little disappointed today. In other words, a repeat of the iPhone 5 announcement two years ago.

I think the most significant announcement today was Apple Pay. The Apple Watch looks good, but I think it's too expensive and that appears to be consensus on the internet. At the moment, I'm not sure if I should get the 4.7" or 5.5" iPhone. I'm also not sure if I should wait for the 6s or not since I have an unlocked 5s not in contract. I would like a more significant camera upgrade. I do know I want it in black and 128GB (to match the capacity of my iPad Air).:)

Galaxy Note N7000

Launch Date: 2011
Features:
NFC, Barometer (nice to check local weather trends), 8MP rear camera, dual-core, 1GB RAM.

I know, there are subtle differences, but... c'mon, Apple. You're launching something as innovative as 2011 tech like if it was a big deal. Hopefully, the software developers will turn iOS 8 a killer mobile operating system, but wait: Siri still doesn't speak portuguese when Google and Samsung already does it for years.

All hopes will be deposited on iOS, because hardware-wise it looks pretty outdated.

So you are just jumping up and down shouting how Android phones are better then Iphones because some of them may have more specifications in which case you obviously know next to nothing about tech.

I have uses top spec Android phones and they were a let down. Poorly designed and poorly executed. Specs for specs sake. If you were as intelligent as I am and if you had the experience I do in the field of technology then you would know you were talking ******
it's not the ingredients that matter but what you do with them.
If you don't like it then go to Android forums and have your hissy fit somewhere else.

I know a few very intelligent people, but I have never heard them telling it to others. Just saying...

Didn't know about that saying. What a stupid behavior.
It's not. It's based on investor ignorance. Professional traders get inside information, regardless of the rules and regulations. They buy in based on rumor and insider information. When the news comes out, the amateur investors rush in to buy. Guess who is holding a bunch of stock that they want to sell? Yep, the pro's. They sell to the amateurs. Down goes the price. Pro traders are simply taking profits.

Are you sure they aren't simply a design feature? How do painted lines improve reception?

Leaked pics of the aluminum chassis show that those are not painted lines but insets, presumable of a non-interfering material.

Think of it this way, a phone is useless when it cannot receive and send microwave signals. In that respect, an aluminum case is a trade-off since microwave signals do not pass through aluminum. The 5S used glass at the top and bottom, but glass doesn't work in a design with curved edges, so an alternative had to be used.

those big lines in the back are needed for something technical, antena or something? if not! are very ugly lines... thanks god that cases exist...

I think 4,7 is ok... a little more bigger than my actual 5s... is not bad...

I really pass on the Plus... I dont need a table! in my pants BUT by example my uncle just use a phone for everything, he dont use any computer, so I can understand that for some people like my uncle that size could be good.

Oh I see, I think. Thanks for the explanation. :p
