Hmmm

I do agree, i think if you have the iPhone 4 , this is quite a dull and unnecessary upgrade, i think if you managed to grab the siri app (why didn't anyone tell me of this before it became famous) before they pulled it, there is absolutely no point in upgrading. And even if you didn't, do you really need Siri?

I have had an iPhone since the beginning and this is the first time, I've never preordered. I feel quite sad but i think I'm going to go with Samsung Note or Nexus Prime, or perhaps a windows 7 phone. I don't mean to sounds selfish, as obviously very sad time for Apple with Steve Jobs passing on but you had 16 months to make a jaw dropping phone......which didn't happen.

I defo think apples IOS is more polished, and Siri is very impressive, but come on guys you are way behind the hardware market......

I think if Apple made it slightly bigger it would of sold twice as many......but sounds like they are already successful.

this guy wouldn't get a job even selling lint at an Apple store.

The majority of YouTube 'reviews' (of anything) are like watching paint dry and make products seem as appealing as catching a cold.

Is this guy German or Russian? And how did Siri know to understand English? His calendar said "sreda" for the day of the week when he set the appointment for tomorrow. And sreda is Russian for Wednesday.

If he was Russian, would expect the characters set in Cyrillic. I think he was Polish.

What are the limitations of siri if you wish to send a lengthy email? No one appears have tested this as far as I can tell.

Even more impressive considering this is only a beta version.
I thought that was curious, when at the media event, they called it beta.

How common is it for Apple to release something to the general public as a beta? To me beta implies that it isn't ready for prime time, which is something that Apple usually only releases to select groups.

I have the old Siri App. The existing one did not have any integration with Calendar, Reminders, Geofencing, taking dictation in email/text messages, no tie in with Wolfram Alpha, did not allow follow up questions, lost it's place if you opened a map and had to go back in etc. It basically allowed one question for the web and tried to rephrase to get you to agree to the question. This Siri Personal assistant is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better.

I was going to do the same thing at a Telus or Bell store (Rogers gets all the attention for iPhones here in Ontario - on the 4's launch day, they had a bouncer at Rogers, while I strolled on into Telus and they had plenty with no line), but Apple doesn't see Siri fit for Canada. Which is a shame, as I wanted to throw my thickest Newfie accent at it.

According to the loop, it can be enabled on Canadian iPhone 4S's.

I agree but it still seems gimmicky and I know I can do some of those things they did quicker the old fashioned way...with my fingers!

While driving?

One thing I noticed, and someone correct me if it's actually a different model the British people were using.... but it appears that if you speak in a British English accent, it replies in a British English accent. Can anyone validate this? If so, that's pretty wicked.

No, they changed it in settings, to the british Siri, when the brits were trying it out.

If your hands are free. What the hell are you pressing the mic button with?

Siri is not only about making things faster! It's about having an assistant that u can talk to when ur hands are full ie. Driving, cooking, holding two things in ur hand!!!!

So having to press a button every time really makes it hands free doesn't it.

It's nothing more than a cheap gimmic to get people to buy a phone. Credit to Apple it's worked damn well.

Oh how I wish Majel Barrett Roddenberry was still around so they could use her voice.

I would like to know if Siri can tell me what the current speed limit is on the road I'm driving on.

"Siri, sing me a song."

"Daisy, Daisy..."

These three things (or any one of these three things) would make me wait in line indefinitely for my upgrade...

It also supports raise to speak so that you can just pick up the phone and put it to your ear and start talking.
