Does this also works with older MacBooks pro like the early 13 inch 2015
It works on my 2015 iMac, so if you’re in the 2015-era you should be good to go! Let’s hope that doesn’t change!

This is genuinely incredible and I'm so pleased they waited and waited to get it right. HOW DOES IT WORK? That very question should always be behind the best innovations. And to consider how this will be enhanced over time..... This is Universal Control v1.0. To think that in three years it's so second nature you're just using every devise as one.... Wow. Good job, Apple. When was the last time you did something this cool?

Glad to see everyone is so excited.

I’m on the other hand not convinced this is anything more than a gimmick. It’s a cool demo but I just don’t see many real world practical use cases.

This feature highlights even more the discrepancies between macOS and iPadOS. And a magic Apple feature that works between multiple devices has always been very unreliable.

Handoff, Airdrop, Sidecar, … they’re all very cool. But in reality most people don’t use them or simply forget they even exist.

I hope I’m wrong here because from a technical point this feature truly is amazing.

So they delayed the launch and it's still not finished? What? LOL, why even launch it? Just push it out to the next OS release.

1. Anyone knop of this can work whit a external mouse or only the built in touchpad on MacBook Pro?

2. Can you use it with a windows computer?

3. Dose it requires Apple silicon?

Game changing if this works especially with having an iMac and MacBook. Sidecar and the current displaying settings are terrible with scaling different devices so I rarely use those functions.
Scaling different devices, yeah.
My display on the Mac mini always changes resolution first thing when I start sidecar.
It’s just a second to switch back, of course, but it’s annoying.
And switching out of sidecar my iPad usually doesn’t get the message for a while.

I still love the feature and that it’s possible at all, though.

Does this allow me to take the mouse and keyboard from my mac anywhere and use them with my iPad without having to mess about pairing/unpairing?

my imac 2017 - updated beta
my ipad -- on the way update
my macbook m1 - on the way updated
** why slow ? never think universal update existed so just now install the beta profile to them
** there is few thing i wish to try . if it work nice.
1. such as how does drag and drop application effect between ipad os and m1 ? since they was arm both
2. how does my trackpad /mouse work between 2 monitor imac, macbook and m1 in one desk.

after testing..
1. not working . no idea what's is switch control weird .. i'm sure they not thinking extends monitor vs switch control problem

Great feature!
Only.. my iPad is always above my Macbook and this only works on the left or the right side.

Unless I'm missing something, you can't both AirPlay Display while simultaniously receive input from the Mouse and Keyboard from the Mac you are AirPlaying to.
Dammit, that's exactly how I was hoping to use it, MacBook in clamshell using AirPlay to the iMac with the iMacs input. Of course, that wouldn't be entirely necessary if Apple would just make AirPlay scaling work properly. Or let us use the iMac as a monitor without signing in! God I miss Target Display Mode. That's all I need, to be able to bring my MacBook into the office and use one of the hotdesk iMacs as an external monitor. But yes Apple, I get it, you want us to do everything through iCloud so you can try generate yet more income...

It just works!

BUT:
1. Scrolling from MX Master 3 mouse works only on the device that is connected (not on the extended one)
2. Shift Key doesn't activate.

Anyone have the same issues?

OMG, too much fun.. although there are some downside's or bugs?
- using Logitech MX3 mouse
I can move the pointer to my ipad and macbook's left and right
I cannot use the scroll wheel. With trackpad all works fine

Does this feature mean that I will have 16gb RAM on my MBA while working? ?

iPad Pro with m1 8gb RAM + MBA with m1 8gb RAM.

This is one of those "magic" technologies you seldomly need, but when you need it, it won't work for some obscure reason.

The demo is very impressive though for sure.

Does ist also work from Mac to Mac?

I am looking forward to see how bad this feature turns out to be after going live for everyone.
Given my AirPods Pro and Safari experience, I am extremely skeptical of this new "magic".

This feature is technically amazing, but what are you going to use it for I can’t see why I need this.
I sometimes use Sidecar to have Teams or another app window open on my iPad, but it's quite a clunky solution. With this I can just bring my mouse down and use the native Teams app on the iPad without taking my hands off my mouse and keyboard. It's not essential by any means but it just makes life a little easier, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Great feature!
Only.. my iPad is always above my Macbook and this only works on the left or the right side.
While it doesn't (for now at least) allow above, you can go below...
Maybe they don't want above as it would be a bit weird with the menu bar..?
