I want to scream! AHH! People are posting images of them receiving their iPad 2's from FedEX. Past launches for every product had pre-orders. Where as on launch day is basically when our (expensive) products arrived.

So it's frustrating that being one of the very, very early online purchasers (3-5 days), I have yet to see ANY movement in shipping while others are unboxing.

IPAD WI-FI 3G 64GB WHITE-USA (AT&T)

I ordered mine right before yours by about 5 minutes, still waiting for any update whatsoever. Why did I stay up til 4am if waking up at 8 woulda gotten my iPad here sooner?

So, the CS guy says he "upgraded" your shipping on a "delayed" order...

In actuality, nothing really changed and it was all BS???

Is Apple that smart? I like it! :D :apple:

Well, my question is - WHY ARE THEY DELAYED AND UNTIL WHEN?

He was sure mine was going to be shipped tomorrow, but how the **** does he know that if it's "delayed"?

I don't know ladies and germs, take it as you will

Does California produce iPads? If so, what's the volume vs China and how the f could engraved iPads be in better supply than Non engraved (bc Cali produces for stores etc...) If so, ship them site to store for customers instead of replenishing for people who haven't ordered.

I think he was implying they were made in China (of course) and that warehouses across the us were SUPPOSED to be full of non-engraved iPad 2s ready to ship out for online orders, but because of "demand" they are now "backordered"- well, where the hell did the supply go? I guess to restock brick and mortar stores and so we get shafted! Apple expected less of a demand and when store's supplies flew out so fast, they had to go into plan B and restock the stores with what was meant to be online-order stock.

Believe what you want.

Why does yours say 2 day? Mine says 2-3 and someone else who called and posted says "priority". Are there really that many shipping options through Fedex, or are these reps just BSing and typing in their own **** into these little shipping descriptor boxes?

Does anyone really believe they expected less of a demand?? A corporate power-producer with the brains to create some really cool hugely popular products is so stupid that it underestimates demand time and time again and is too stupid to hire people who make a living from advising companies about supply and demand?? Nope, don't buy it. They have enough experience with us to know that most of us will bitch and moan, which by the way creates great press, but will nonetheless be willing to endure all kinds of abuse for the privilege of shelling out big bucks to get our hands on the latest and greatest Apple something.

I just noticed that too. That's pretty funny in a sad way.

Why can't they just tell us HONESTLY what is going on. Fact is, some of their reps are lying one way or another and Apple should be held accountable for that. If there is a backorder- tell us, if not don't BS. If there is expedited shipping, say it, if not tell the truth. Come on now.

Apple knows what they are doing. Fedex knows what they are doing. I won't speak for others, but I am just being impatient, I was expecting to order my new little doodad, it to be shipped on the same day (come on it was ordered at 1am) and to see it travel across the world to my door step by nowish... This did not happen, because hundreds of thousands (if not more) of others want the same thing.

I will continue to check and recheck, and hope and ponder, and even be a little irritated here and there, but there is nothing I can do about it.

It's all part of the "Apple experience" ..... a cat & mouse game.

When your ship dates are pushed back on the order 2 days, it's your turn:

You call CS and complain over & again about how this was a present for your grandma's 83rd birthday, and now it will be late.

Apple CS will relent after the tears and offer you a free SmartCover or free HDMI cable thingy...

You take it and move on.

But are there not any legal repercussions to a company when representatives give false policy information to customers?
I guess not one as big as Apple...

Has there been a large percentage of customers whom called customer support and complained, then were credited for a smart cover (or accessory?)

I've seen a lot of posts about that, but they never offered it to me. If, however, mine does not ship by Thursday (my 5th business day) I will raise hell and request something complimentary. Did it before when they screwed up my order three times for a Macbook Air, wound up canceling and got a free iPod Touch 4th gen.

No.

The truth ... with Apple new products ... is it'll get there when it gets there.

And a chunk of folks will always be getting "it" before you do.

So, in understanding that, you lower your expectations and play the game.

CS folks are just trying to appease & distract you until "it" arrives.

Guys I am really, really confused by the anger here.

1. Not a single person has yet reported that their iPad didn't ship by the time promised.

2. Not a single person has yet reported that their iPad didn't arrive by the time promised.

3. Not a single person has reported an IDENTICAL order be processed for someone else ahead of when they ordered theirs.

Obviously a bunch of Wi-Fis went out right away, even for folks told 5-7 days (instead of 3-5) but it seems AT&T units are taking longer. There is a plant build sequence and obviously those weren't ready, but you know what they will be ready WHEN PROMISED.

They are coming. On time.

WRONG! Somebody ordered TWO AND A HALF HOURS after me with the same exact order in the other shipping thread. I've seen one be shipped that was ordered at 7:30 am EST! I hope you are joking with that one.

32gb att black
Ordered 12:49

Now prepared for shipmenr with 'priority' shipping

I don't understand the "priority" thing. Is that "Overnight Priority" as that is the only "priority" FedEx offers. I called CS and they gave me "2-3 day" shipping. I hope that's as fast as the "priority".

Me, I just called to inquire as to why some individuals who ordered later than me were getting their iPads shipped or having their iPads status changed from "not yet shipped" to "prepared for shipment" the rep apologized and said she didn't know why it this was happening, but did inform me that call centers have been getting a lot of inquiries like mine. Thereafter apologizing she offered a free smart cover to make up for the inconvenience.

Jealous. :( Tomorrow if I don't see any updates, I will most likely place a call.

Keep us posted about the Priority shipping. I got it too and am wondering if it will be any faster. Mine is still "not yet shipped"

What is this "Priority" shipping? The only shipping FedEx offers with the word priority is "Overnight Priority" I believe. There is no way it can arrive overnight from China because of customs.
