Am I missing something?

I ordered my iPad at approx. 4:50 a.m. EST on the 11th and my order confirmation says:

Ships: 3 - 5 business days
Delivers Mar 18 - Mar 25 by Standard Shipping

Why are people going bonkers about the shipment status of their orders? If it is now only the 3rd business day, Apple is still in check with their statement. After the 5th business day and my order hasn't shipped, then I could understand. My order only says SHIPS IN 3 - 5 BUSINESS DAYS, not DELIVERED IN 3 - 5 DAYS. So am I missing something, other than my iPad? Just askin.....
 
Priority shipping?

Well assuming all iPad orders are being shipped from China, unless Apple and FedEx have created a tear in the space/time continuum I don't see how shipping can be sped up. I'll have to double check FedEx website, maybe they have wormhole service for select customers?
 
I ordered a 32 GB WiFi + AT&T 3G black iPad 2 at 3:53 AM Eastern time on Friday, March 11 and my status is still:

Ships: 3 - 5 business days
Delivers: Mar 18 - Mar 25

On the plus side, the HDMI cable and black SmartCover are on their way. The cover is in Hong Kong and the HDMI cable is still in China.

Yes. You are missing plenty. People have been having their orders shipped DAYS before other people when they have THE EXACT SAME ORDERS, yet ordered HOURS after those other folks! Even engraved iPad 2's! It is a ridiculous process. I ordered 12:45 am PST 3/11 like many others and am still sitting at "not yet shipped" when others have ARRIVED today who ordered well after me. The latest order to ship that I've seen was a 7:30 am EST 3/11. That is ridiculous.

Like someone mentioned before, I'm impatient - not complaining.

I think though the biggest gripe everyone here has is, that people who had ordered at later times then others are today unboxing their new iPad 2's. As they are unboxing, even though many of us ordered earlier then they did, we gaze at our order statuses and simply see 'not yet shipped' which to us 'fan boys' is driving us bonkers.

I speak for myself. I am not mad at Apple and am waiting for business day '6' to complain if necessary, but gosh darn I am surely impatient and dislike their method for no pre-ordering online for this product launch. 4AM EST I ordered and I just want to see some movement on this product to start making it's way to me. I'm jealous of all those unboxing their brand new iPad 2 who purchased online after I did.

Well it might be because...I ordered my iPad and smart cover at 3:44am EST on March 11. I received a shipping notice and tracking # for the cover on March 13 and it's estimated to arrive on March 22. That's 9 days from the shipping notice. My iPad has not even been prepped for shipment. If it does not ship tomorrow and takes 9 days, it will miss the March 25 delivery deadline. Now that's not the end of the world and not the first time I've ordered something that arrived later than promised. However, I spend all day having to be a grownup who has to be a role model for lots of other grownups I supervise and right now here where no-one knows me I'm reveling in being a child and going bonkers because I WANT MY IPAD!

It is just frustrating when you see people who ordered after you getting them already. If these threads didn't exist I'd be fine and patiently wait...but someone posts that their iPad is prepared for shipment and I get excited that mine will be too and it never is. It is just a series of let downs. lol.

I don't recall seeing on my confirmation that orders are shipped FIFO.... Only that ships in 3-5 business days. I guess my point is why get so worked up? For those who are unhappy about the situation can easily cancel their orders and are free to purchase a competitors product. I'll call Apple and inquire if it hasn't shipped by the 18th.

Why get so worked up? Because it is unfair. As someone said before- imagine.... you are standing in line at the Apple store on release day... you are 12th in line and someone else is 100th in line. They start handing iPad 2's out, but instead of starting at number one, they start at number 100, then number 13, then number 11.... but not 12!

Glad you operate your way. I will continue operating in a way that I believe coincides with common sense.

My cover was delivered on the 12th and my iPad is still showing "Not yet shipped" I'd like to have mine in my sweaty little paws right now but ain't happening for a few more days so I'll find something productive to do like pick my nose or scratch my self inappropriately.

I'm not mad yet. But I thought they charge your cc when it does ship. They charged my cc on sat. Not a HOLD a charge for these on my cc. I wonder what really is going on.

I'm tired of watching this. I'll just get it when it arrives. It's not like I control Apple's shipping. Heres to hope that it arrives by this weekend. Highly doubtful, but a little hope can't hurt.
 
apple is just punishing us for not waiting in the 6 hour lines... they don't care about their online customers. its all about the retail stores, where they show off their "success."
 
I understand that a lot of you are mad but when you ordered it DID say "ships 3-5 business days". Just because someone ordered before you might not mean squat. It could depend on which region your in, model, color, etc. There is just too many variables that could be in play here. Flat out, it says 3-5 business days then that's your time frame. Get mad when it takes longer than that. You were told that when you ordered.

There was a rumor that apple had production issues that would have delayed the launch. Who knows, maybe that was true. Regardless, you can't get mad when you knew what you signed up for especially when it hasn't been longer than five days yet.
 
Perhaps I'm being ridiculous, but to me, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the 5th business day. If orders were fulfilled and even shipped on Saturday, then technically that is a business day as business was being done. Perhaps I am only giving myself another reason for being upset over this situation- but if I don't see movement with my order tomorrow...I better be getting my ass kissed by some CS representative.

To be fair, orders were taken Friday (albeit early Friday). One business day would be Monday, three business days is tomorrow, and 5 business days is Friday. Might not hear anything until the end of the week.
 
Uh oh.. My pending charge on my bank account went away.. And no actual charge. Sigh... Now I am nervous.
 
f your iPad has moved from Not Yet Shipped to Prepared or Shipped in the past 24 hours what model did you get & what time did you order?? Thanks!

I spoke with a representative this morning that said the pending charge was just to ensure you had the funds available. You will be charged officially when your ipad ships.
