Interesting that some people are getting some kind of information, whether accurate or not, from Apple reps. I just talked to one who read me my order status-yes, that would be the same order status I've been reading myself all day. I asked whether there was a reason why some people who were the first to order, like me, don't even have a prepared for shipping status yet. He said that it was supposed to be first come first served but I should be happy because people who ordered later have April ship dates. I replied that on the other hand some people who ordered later already have tracking numbers and he replied that mine was scheduled to ship this week. So that's that, no use trying to get blood from a stone.

Nope. The 3-5 days is for shipping. And that is business days. So, counting Friday and today, we are just coming on two business days. Apple has until Thursday to ship them. The delivery on the site clearly states it can be up to 6 more business days until it is delivered.

It is so funny to me how all you crybabies know how to come on a forum to whine, but can't read simple shipping and handling details before forking over $600.

I think most people felt that the 3-5 days would be padded and hoped theirs would go out in the first day (Friday or Monday). Especially those who ordered at 1am Pacific (like myself). Some of us also had to go to work (not saying it's lame to wait in line b/c I would have been there if I could have) for meetings we couldn't cancel and got up at 3:30am Est to order expecting it to go out sooner than later.

The reality is also that some people's have shipped. Fast and Free is not 6 days to ship - like I said - I expected it to be padded since my order was placed at 3:47am (Eastern).

First in first out is total BS - I don't care which business, which products or which day it is. It's impossible for them to ship first in first out.

Yeah, except the fact that it clearly stated when it would be shipping out right before you pressed the "order" button.

I live in Chicago, stayed up til 3 (got to actually put my order in at 2:45) had to be at work at 7am. And? It was my choice to do it. I read the shipping times. Did not want to take a chance at the store after work and placed the order.

It does not matter that the site said "fast and free" at any point. The term is not concrete. And it all becomes moot because, once again, the site clearly says that it will not even begin to ship til after 3-5 days.

No one forced you to order under these terms.

I am disappointed. I want to play too. I am not going to lose sleep over it. What sickens me is the greedy, entitled and self-righteous nature of some people. That combined with that Japan shipping thread makes me so gd sick of being apart of and associated with the people of this country. Yes, it is that serious.

I haven't had the most pleasant experience with apple employees. Not saying I should judge the next person, based on my experience with the last, but I'll certainly take it into account. Especially if they try to sell me the "it's normal" bs. Idk, maybe its just the apple store in my area

Same here as of this morning. Ordered 4:06 est. Not yet shipped. On a brighter note, my smart cover is coming from China and just got pushed back another day with the infamous "received after fedex cutoff."

sigh...big surprise, 64 gig black AT&T ordered March 11 at 3:44am EST NOT YET SHIPPED. Yes, I saw the shipping estimate and it was a shock given the 9 days of "fast free shipping" hype but do you think that after the long wait and in the midst of the panic that we weren't going to be able to get one we would have moved the mouse off the submit order button and said "Oh 3-5 days to ship? Nah, never mind." Of course not! Exactly what Apple banked on. Well here's hoping we all get news of some movement today.
