i've seen 3 people using it so far, they all customer from where i work.

I saw a guy at the book store yesteraday wearing the appletooth so I assume......

He wasn't talking on it though.

I have not seen anyone with it. I still feel weird using mine in public. Only because it seems like it is too far ahead of it's time. I feel like I am violating the "Prime Directive" or something to expose the average Joe to new technology.

Well said. The line at the coffee shop yesterday morning was SOOOOOOOO long, I just surfed my newsgator subscriptions (fine on edge) and the line went quicker.

I did feel wierd though..

BUT.

I did put it away once I got within 2 customers of the cashier. No need to be rude about things.

I 'still' try to hide mine in the wild. It's my phone, not a conversation piece. Maybe I'm just shy.

I'm kind of looking forward to being able to use it in public without worrying about some strangers asking to see my phone.

they're everywhere

Six other people in my office have them, mostly photographers and internet folks.
At last count, three of us have custom ringtones.
Two with BestSkinsEver covers, including myself.

On the first day after it was out, I saw a couple, and of my group of friends, i see it almost daily ... i think I know around 20 people who have it.. :p Other than that, I've seen it every so often elsewhere.

Here in Jacksonville, Fl, I've not seen any in the wild. However, I work for a large web development company and I know of 4 other individuals that have made the purchase. Guess I don't really consider them "in the wild" since I have to see them every day.

Anyone else still get giddy when you see them advertise on TV? I really feel like I should be "over" that feeling. But every damn time a commercial comes on for it, I feel like a proud father.

I've run into a few people I was waiting in line with at the AT&T store. I also saw a guy with the iPhone headphones/mic last night, I can only assume that means he has an iPhone. I've been looking for the Apple Bluetooth headset, but mine is the only one I've seen in person so far. Not even seen them at the stores.

I don't have an iPhone, but this guy and girl together in front of me in Coldstone were both surfing and I think they heard me say to my cousin "They have an iPhone!".

I haven't seen one yet, but then again I live in between Nashville and Birmingham in the sticks, so I'm not too surprised...

Almost saw one last Friday. Guy that looked oddly like Steve Jobs had one in his pocket at a cocktail party. He resisted the temptation to pull it out for everyone to ooh and ah over.

couldn't have been him.

i'm seeing the iphone a lot more frequently now. aside from my friends, i've seen three in the last week. not bad if you ask me.

one of my friends with an iphone was on a flight recently, and he was sitting next to someone who also had an iphone. what are the odds of that?

since launch, i've seen 2

1 on a plane, a kid was playing with it, hope it wasnt his and only one of his parents... and the other when i was at the kwik-e-mart here in L.A. .. chick was taking pics with the phone there.

Yep, someone on the plane in the seat next to me had one. He had some problems with the screen response in the lower part but mine has been flawless! I told him to go to an Apple Store to have it checked out.

I have yet to see an iPhone other than mine or my brother's iPhone. Then again, we live in a rural city ... not much happens around here.

so far i have seen 4, walking around Manhattan i saw two then once on the subway and one where i work.
Edit: Actually make that 5, one in the UA watching Harry Potter.

I've seen too many. Really.

I saw one at a Korean BBQ the day the iPhone came out. A 14 year old girl had one, it was definitely hers cause she wouldn't let her siblings play with it.

My friend's roommate has one, I got to play with it for a few minutes. Amazing technology but I wouldn't pay the current price for one.

I help my parents about once or twice a month (due to classes) with their business (fast food) and I've seen a few customers with iPhones.

Last time I saw one was at Busch Gardens Tampa, someone was taking a picture of their friends.

Yes, I've seen about 7.

I work at a summer camp right now and there were visiting days where the parents came (most of them are pretty well off), this is how I saw them. I still have yet to see on walking around on the streets.

made me sad because the first person I saw with an iPhone happened to be this ditsy valley girl who was holding it up in front of her face in the middle of the mall trying to figure out how to work the damn thing... *sigh*

ive seen a few and everytime i do i ask them "hey is that the iphone?" and they act all cool like "why yes it is, it does this and this and its all touch screen and it has youtube, etc" like they were walking advirtisements, then i say "i kno i have one too" and their expression just drops and they go "...oh" and walk away lol
