Help! Facetime audio problem/macbook air

Help!

For the last week or so, when I facetime someone on my macbook, the other person can hear me fine but my audio for them is constantly dropping in and out. I can hardly hear them for the majority of the call, even when they scream. I don't know what to do. I have looked on hundreds of websites and found nothing to help.

If you have any idea on how to fix this, please help!
