This really bring back memories from the first iPhone.
Limited apps, super expensive.

I just hope VP evolves and ends up changing things. But not make us as dumb as smartphone industry has :)

At this price point apple should have optimized all their native apps. Apple always was a company that valued the user experience. We’ll have to wait and see what not optimized means when using the apps. :/

Not optimized = iPad applications

For apps like Stocks, it does not really matter. For some apps (Maps) 3D is a game changer.

App developers will make or break the Vision Pro. So Apple should make peace with the biggest developers and not antagonize them. Then when the Vision Pro is a big hit, with thousands of apps, Apple can go back to being a scrooge.
Ex-creator of Apollo to the rescue. :)

If the biggest developers want to play hard to get, it may end up being their loss, not the users, if say, someone were to end up switching from Spotify to Apple Music just so he can get streaming music on the vision pro.

On second thought, yeah, let's keep Spotify off the App Store. 😏

I don't get why Apple hasn't optimized all apps, including Pro apps, for Apple Vision. Is it to use workforce for something else instead? Is it so that third party devs might go like "hey, apple hasn't developed their (nameOfApp) yet, perhaps if we release it quickly enough it might get momentum".

Or other reasons?
Whats your point of views, guys?

My guess is that they simply haven’t gotten round to it yet.

I live in the EU, so I won't have access to the Apple Vision Pro at launch. But, I believe my biggest personal use case will be for video content consumption while laying on bed or travelling on a plane. And for this purpose only, I am not sure if I would need the "Pro" variant of the product, but we shall see.

I see this product as the very first MacBook Air. It was severely overpriced for what it had technically. This time, however, Apple made the first version of the product as a super capable product, but the software needs to catch up with the product.

I feel I will be in the market for the third version of Apple Vision Pro. I have a feeling Apple will launch Apple Vision Pro 2 in the EU, and wider markets with Apple Vision 3, perfecting the hardware and software. That's when I hope to purchase the product.

As some others have mentioned, I don't think this product is dead on arrival. The only downside is it is a product that needs to be "experienced". When enough people experience the product and YouTube reviewers review the hell of it, then it will be something people will be able to purchase confidently.

I also think once the wireless transmission technologies get even better, a version of Apple Vision Pro can be produced as a companion product to a Mac. All the processing guts will be on a Mac (or even an iPhone), and all the sensors will be on Apple Vision. This could be the "Air" version of Apple Vision Pro.

I am kind of disappointed that it’s based on iPadOS. Only because Apple seems to have the least idea what to do with it of any of them. Though now that we know they’ve been working on iPadOS with VisionOS in mind, it makes more sense.
I’m interested (hopeful) to see if future visionOS developments will filter back to iPadOS. Maybe we even get a calculator.

Even though it’s not optimized, I think it’s cool that you can read Apple books on here. I wonder what it’s like to read books in the Apple vision. Just laying down with my headset, reading a book on the ceiling.
That’s an expensive ebook reader.
