He had to lie on his couch after vomiting.Breaking: CEO of technology company says he uses latest product (“prawduct”, probably) to consume media from same company in breathless article.
Interestingly, he uses it for media consumption, not AR (he mentions productivity generically, with no specifics), having to watch on the ceiling to mitigate the weight of the device.
anyway, tag, I am out of this. wasted enough of my time and yours. and MR's.
MacRumors next news article: "AVP has solved World Peace!"All good. Appreciate the back and forth. Peace.
On the contrary. All we have today is the product that is in front of us. We don't buy the future, we buy the now.

Poor Steve Jobs, rolling in his grave.
I’m not sure how much weight that would actually save. Most of the weight is probably in the lenses, the display panels, all the sensors, the wiring, the frame assembly, and so on. Silicon chips (the “smarts”) don’t weigh much. That's my observtion too - if they're gonna have this stupid dongle + battery, why not put all the rest of the smarts there as well?
In my home? Yes.Do you judge scuba divers in this same manner?
Spare me the corporate worship. Every person in this thread, on MacRumors, on every Apple site, is already better than Apple, by miles. Every fan, every critic. We are individuals. Apple is a corporation. Apple's job is to manipulate people into spending money.
That exchange can be fair—I gave Apple money, they gave me AirPods, an iPhone, a MacBook Pro, among other things. They work as I need them to work and fulfill a need. But you know what Apple didn't pay me to do? Carry their water. Defend them as I'd defend a brother. I'll criticize every single thing Apple does if it irks me, and give them a thumbs up if it doesn't. But the idea that I should "aspire" to be as "good" as something as a corporation is ridiculous on its face.
alrighty then, all those who repeated over and over, "there aren't even any pictures of Tim Cook wearing it" you will need to find a new drum. Was it coincidence the first one is a huge marketing ploy? Tim may not be anyone's hero, but turns out he is almost as slick as Steve in marketing.

I guess Apple was smart giving this exclusive to Vanity Fair. No snark from outlets like The Verge because they don’t want to admit someone else got the exclusive and don’t want to funnel them traffic.
This product is now officially dead on arrival. He looks like an idiot in it. The image will be memed to death. That isn’t “slick marketing.” It’s a projection of a lack of confidence in the appearance of the device.
Definitely. At first, I was convinced that the pencil was on the side. But now considering what you said, changing the perspective, it looks like a regular iPad Pro, yes.At first glance it looks to be that way. But zooming in, you can see the speaker grills on the side without the pencil attached. So either Apple moved both the pencil and the speaker grill locations, or they are in the same locations as previous models.

I fully disagree, it'll be there but reserved for the high end versionThe external eye feature will not see version 2. It's awful and expensive.
Anything less than 5 million is an abject failure. To wit, the Apple Watch was labeled a complete dud when it 'only' sold 4 million the first year. Thankfully it was cheap enough and had a killer app (health sensors that can save your life) that catapulted it to stardom. The AVP costs 10x more, can't save your life, and will destroy what little coolness or social life you've had. Not a recipe for success.A little late and wrong Sir sold 200k in first 10 days in US alone and the stores didnt even open yet lol.
There are better and easier ways to become rich which doesn‘t involve making yourself look like a monkey or turn a product company into a service company, or one that feasts on incremental bean-counting and nerfing of SSD speeds in follow-up device releases, or praise the non-existent security benefit in their app review.I think you took that all just a weeeeeeeeeeeee bit too seriously. I wasn't defending Apple, I was criticizing the people who comment here. I don't need to write what I already wrote again, so you can go back and re-read it if you're confused or unsure by why I wrote it.
The point that you missed is that everyone here thinks they know better than Apple, but for some strange reason, they don't take that superior knowledge and go out and beat Apple at their own game, becoming rich in the process.
These products brought applications with them that actual humans found useful. They‘ve had this in development for years and there is yet to be a single app to actually make this device worthwhile. Apple could at least offer one good app which would make this thing useful or genuinely better at something that would warrant a purchase.I watched people complain and moan about the iPod, and its cost compared to other Mp3 players. Then I watched everyone whine and moan about every iteration of the iPod that came out, and of course they all did fantastic. Then I watched as people were interested in the iPhone, but wrote it off because of its price and the lack of a physical keyboard. Then I watched as everyone laughed at the ridiculously named "iPad" which was just a larger iPhone. A decade and change later, oops. Then the same thing happened with the Apple Watch, etc. You can probably see where I'm going with this.
Is is better at cultivating their stock and that‘s about it. The last really good product I remember was the AirPods. Or the mini devices (which addressed the issue of portability).Apple is far better than the people of this forum at identifying future trends and creating projects that go on to be pillars of what Apple is known for. But sure, THIS TIME, everyone here is right.
I seem to remember when some of the first as yet unseen iPhone "Sneak Peaks" appeared: A Commuter on the BART for example using one and in The Movie "The Hurt Locker" when Jeremy Renner was defusing an IED and had a large LCD display with icons attached to his wrist and the Inter-Webs went berserk!!It may be a sneak peek. I mean, it does look like the pencil is attached to the iPad, and is not just laying on the table on the iPad's short side by coincidence. And there aren't any flat-edge iPad cases with pencil attachment on the short side, for obvious reasons (and Tim would be very unlikely to use them if there were). So what other explanation could there be?
EDIT: It's probably perspective distortion as pointed out by MrENGLISH.
If there is a 3rd or 4th gen. First the price needs to come down significantly. Almost everyone agrees on that. Anyone who doesn’t is a Apple shareholder with large dollar signs blocking most of their view of reality. Second, there’s a few other things that need to improve on the design. Third, well the market will decide the rest.looks silly. they really need to work on slimming it down. it's been a while since i said that about an Apple product. I think all new Apple products start out chunky then lose weight. Maybe by the 3rd or 4th gen it'll look good.
I own some AAPLs but totally agree nonetheless. If there is a 3rd or 4th gen. First the price needs to come down significantly. Almost everyone agrees on that. I don’t think Tim would be that careless with leaving an unannounced product just sitting on his desk during a photoshoot. Or maybe he would be???What is this iPad with the Pencil attached on the side instead of top?
