If you're not getting a 6+ or a 6 with 128gb, it's not really worth upgrading if you have a 5 or 5S.

I think you're right, the difference between 64GB and 128GB is only £80!

If you're going to be spending £619 on an iPhone what difference is £80 for 100% more storage?

There is no problem with big phones, never had any problems with the Note line other than I prefer iOS. They catered to people like me who want a big iPhone. Its not for everyone, like a small phone isn't for everyone.

Use what you want to use. Apple fans struggle with choice it seems and like being told you can only buy one model. Times have changed.

Thx .. I saw it on Huffington post and I thought - So many people still "on the fence" on size-wise why not post that flowchart to "help" some people on deciding size / OS wise..

I knew right from the start that I was getting the Plus but I was able to "Verify" my choice by flowing the chart. I really can't wait for it to arrive.

...I have preordered for pickup the 6 for Friday...

How'd you preorder for pickup? I didn't see that option when buying on Friday, and haven't been able to find it since. It's probably so obvious, I'm overlooking it

After watching a few more videos and reading up, I'm going to get the 6 I think and cancel my ordered plus.

Battery life on my 5S wasn't an issue, rarely went below 80% and I have chargers everywhere I go. The bedroom, kitchen, HiRise on my Mac, the car, desk at work. I even have a portable charger that I can take with me if I go out for the day and use GPS. That used to charge my 5S more than twice from nearly discharged.

OIS - real world usage, bet it won't make a difference apart from maybe low light situations- burst mode on my 5S always got me to pick a great shot

Resolution - Does the plus constantly downscale? It's going to take more processing power to push the extra pixels as well as the downscaling it will constantly have to do. Probably not noticeable however?

24 hour battery life on the iPhone 6 Plus...

Size - I commute 4 days a week, and occasionally have to make calls. I think it's going to look daft making a call on that. 129g instead of 172g also.

That said, I'll reserve judgment till Friday when I can hold both in store. Also sways it for me that I have preordered for pickup the 6 for Friday yet the plus is nearly 4 weeks from being delivered. Oh and the £80 I'll save.

Hope everyone is happy with what they purchase, I can see the plus suiting a lot of people out there, just don't think it's for me.

Perhaps in the US it's more acceptable to think bigger is better, but elsewhere I think common sense will prevail about what a phone is (a PHONE) .. to be carried conveniently, not cumbersome like it will be by most Plus owners.

Which is why those of us who do not use smartphones primarily as phones are weighing screen size vs portability. I am looking at the iphone 6 plus as a much smaller ipad. See, not all yanks think bigger is always better. ;)

In fact, the 6+, when paired with the apple watch (assuming it actually will do what they've hinted at) might make for a nice, discreet option.

It sure sounds like battery was an issue for you, the only reason you had 80% all the time is in your post. You have chargers in every corner of the house, work and car. You should really so with the + to get rid of some of those cords taking over your life.

I *think* the pic of Dom Jolly may well have been 'lost in translation' with our American friends here, as I don't think they will have ever seen Trigger Happy TV. ;)

For info, THTV, was a 'hidden camera' type comedy program in the nineties (where *that* Nokia ringtone was EVERYWHERE!).

One of the sketches had Dom (man in pic) carrying a HUGE Nokia phone with him in various locations (packed train, art gallery etc) and all of a sudden the Nokia ringtone would go off and he'd put the HUGE phone to his head and say (in a REALLY loud voice, for maximum effect!), "HELLO?", "NO, IM ON THE TRAIN", invariably followed by "NO, IT'S RUBBISH!".

Cue everyone around him jumping, laughing, looking bewildered etc!

I forgot this is a predominantly US based site, but great that you showed them some great UK comedy :D HELLLLOOOO!!?? I'm in the library!!

I have to get this off my chest because I have been seeing this happen in almost every thread now. I am a bit unnerved as to why people cannot accept what others choose to use as their phone -regardless of which phone they opt for. The idea should that people use whatever they are content, or thrilled with.

Sure, some people may subconciously attempt to "justify" their decision (I'm not judging the OP by any means), however so be it -this is not a reason to begin bashing someone because you have the 6 Plus. Many of you, but not all of you, come off as elitist when remarking that "The 6+ is the only way to go," or "I bet you'll be swapping phones after x months," blah blah blah. In a way, the more I see that the more I feel some people are trying to justify their own means by cutting down on someone else's opinion. There is no right or wrong phone, it's up to each us what we want to use.

"Oh, the OP can't wait for the 6 Plus, so s/he opted for the iPhone 6." Well how do you know? There are likely more people than you can count who did the exact same thing.
We can all agree to disagree on what size of best for any given person, but leave it at that. Stop acting like children.

Well, so what if they do? Big deal? If that's what it takes, that what it takes. Many people, including myself are/were on the fence about what size to get ... and in the end we ALL (yes, even those of you who insist you know what's best for everyone) had to justify whatever phone we went with.

Good post, well made.

Neither phone is "wrong" or "right", its the same as Apple vs Android. Both have their merits I'm sure.

Rarely below 80% and having chargers everywhere is a bit redundant. My iPhone 5 is <20% on a daily basis by 5PM.

You're holding it wrong.

I think in time we are going to see Plus owners being rather red faced with the many jokes that are going to be aimed their way (original picture being a prime example).

It's just not a phone in the sense of being convenient to carry around day-in-day out. If I see anyone using one I'm going to think "what a pillock" and have a wry nudge at their expense.

Pathetic and juvenile.

Basically he way I see it is that no one will
Be disappointed regardless of which phone they get. I'm already tired of people acting like someone is of lesser stature if they get the 6 instead. Both of these phones are FLAGSHIPS. It's not like last year with the flagship then amid-tiered phone. These are both the flagships. Eventually the plus line will be a different product such as the Note. The 6 is the flagship.

If you don't believe me go to Apples website and see how they're treating it. It's says iPhone starting at $199. I believe they have all
Intentions of making it seperate product lines.

Indeed, thanks.

Presuming you are in the UK, go to the retail section. Google 'apple retail reserve iPhone' .. It's one of the top links.

Clearly you do for taking the time to post a JPG. Muppet :D

So then I wouldn't fall below 90% maybe?

:rolleyes::cool:;):D

I see it now. Realised the issue, a bug or something on apple's site. When I was on the iPhone info page, and it had the reserve, or preorder, when I tapped the "apple retail" link for reserving, it was also tapping preorder so taking me to that page.
Just noticed if I go back one, it's the retail page for reserving.
Very odd! Doesn't matter now, all but 128gb are unavailable near me.

Played around at the wireless store with a Note 3 to get an idea of the + size.

Impressions? It will be AWESOME if all you do is sit and watch movies, play games, surf the web, and message.

Move around, make calls, or need to stow it in a pocket? Not so much. Sure you CAN do it. I CAN drive to work with my head out the sunroof. Just because it can be done doesn't mean I won't look like a moron doing it.

The 6 seems to be the best of both worlds. I like the idea of a bigger screen in some cases, I really do, but 4.7 IS bigger, by quite a large margin from the 5S anyway.

4" was really fine. Since there's no choice, I'm feeling better and better with the "middle ground". The 5.5 is HUGE. That's great and all, but it's HUGE lol.

It is huge. An although it will fit in my pocket, I'm thinking I may now want to carry it there. A horizontal leather pouch seem nice. Will have to see.

I carry TWO iPhone 5s in my front left pocket now. I'm going to consolidate into one iPhone 6+. I think it will be fine. I couldn't put the Note 3 in my pocket because it was tied down at Best Buy. And it wasn't even a real phone. It was a prop.

Let's just say its 80/20 now leaning towards to 6. I'm reading more into the downscaling and not liking what I'm reading. Probably a non-issue, but weighing the other pros and cons FOR ME, I'd say its a done deal.

I do still have my order ongoing though for the Plus though, but plenty of time to cancel that.

The word is that the 6+ has twice the RAM and that will help in processing speed. :)

That's what I said. If you upgrade to a 6+ or a 128gb model, it's a huge upgrade. If not, it's a minor upgrade and may not even be worth it.

The iPhone 6 also has a bigger screen than its predecessor so I think both models are worth upgrading to.

Sell the 6+ on eBay, use the cash to buy the 6 outright. Pocket the profit.

I would have done this but all the 6+ 16GB slipped to October right away. Ended up with the iP6 128GB.

"Ermagherd! He's holding a massive phone to his head! Haw haw haw! So stupid! I can't believe he's actually calling on a big phone! What a fat idiot."

Yeah because what others think of me using to call others really impacts my life.
