Some people will love the plus, some will find it too big. Such is the way of the world. That's what happens when you buy blind. There's whole bunch of people out there that are going to go to the store after they come out, play with both devices and make the perfect choice for their needs on the first go around.

I see from your above post you are getting 6+

I can see a lot of people would find a bigger screen necessary but I don't think i'm one of them. I was perfectly happy with the screen on my 5S.

I'm definitely guilty of getting caught in the hype of the new Apple device.

For me, the biggest reason for the big screen was that I do a lot of PDF document reading (docs that don't work well with reflow), and the pinch and zoom on my iPhone 5s got annoying. I have a Note 3 too, and no pinch and zoom necessary on that one. I expect the iPhone 6+ to be a similar experience as the Note.

Plus, yes, new toys are always fun.

Is this 64GB?

5.1 + 8.1 = 13.2 (so its 16GB) ;)

I have to get this off my chest because I have been seeing this happen in almost every thread now. I am a bit unnerved as to why people cannot accept what others choose to use as their phone -regardless of which phone they opt for. The idea should that people use whatever they are content, or thrilled with.

Sure, some people may subconciously attempt to "justify" their decision (I'm not judging the OP by any means), however so be it -this is not a reason to begin bashing someone because you have the 6 Plus. Many of you, but not all of you, come off as elitist when remarking that "The 6+ is the only way to go," or "I bet you'll be swapping phones after x months," blah blah blah. In a way, the more I see that the more I feel some people are trying to justify their own means by cutting down on someone else's opinion. There is no right or wrong phone, it's up to each us what we want to use.

"Oh, the OP can't wait for the 6 Plus, so s/he opted for the iPhone 6." Well how do you know? There are likely more people than you can count who did the exact same thing.
We can all agree to disagree on what size of best for any given person, but leave it at that. Stop acting like children.

Well, so what if they do? Big deal? If that's what it takes, that what it takes. Many people, including myself are/were on the fence about what size to get ... and in the end we ALL (yes, even those of you who insist you know what's best for everyone) had to justify whatever phone we went with.

Excellent rational post that will be lost on a lot of people here.

Plus it's a phone...not an arranged marriage. I got the 6. Now wondering if I should have got the Plus. If I change my mind, I'll just return it and wait no big deal. Or I may gave it 12 months then go for a bigger model since I went with the NEXT 12 program.

After watching a few more videos and reading up, I'm going to get the 6 I think and cancel my ordered plus.

Battery life on my 5S wasn't an issue, rarely went below 80% and I have chargers everywhere I go. The bedroom, kitchen, HiRise on my Mac, the car, desk at work. I even have a portable charger that I can take with me if I go out for the day and use GPS. That used to charge my 5S more than twice from nearly discharged.

OIS - real world usage, bet it won't make a difference apart from maybe low light situations- burst mode on my 5S always got me to pick a great shot

Resolution - Does the plus constantly downscale? It's going to take more processing power to push the extra pixels as well as the downscaling it will constantly have to do. Probably not noticeable however?

Size - I commute 4 days a week, and occasionally have to make calls. I think it's going to look daft making a call on that. 129g instead of 172g also.

That said, I'll reserve judgment till Friday when I can hold both in store. Also sways it for me that I have preordered for pickup the 6 for Friday yet the plus is nearly 4 weeks from being delivered. Oh and the £80 I'll save.

Hope everyone is happy with what they purchase, I can see the plus suiting a lot of people out there, just don't think it's for me.

Why did you keep us waiting a full 24 hours?

Was the image really necessary

If you're trolling the image is necessary.

The 6 Plus intrigues me. I'll look at it when it in the store. I like the idea of a larger screen but not certain I want a large phone. Yes, I know.

If I like the 6 Plus I may use it for my secondary line and keep the primary on it's current handset.

The A8 SoC has more than enough power to slice through anything so the 6+ won't be affected due to its higher PPI. 6+ users are going to enjoy better battery life then 6 users, that's the big deal here. Otherwise I prefer the 6 size personally. I have owned huge phones like the GFlex (6 inch curved display), big displays like the OnePlus One and Note 3 but overall I prefer something more manageable.

Personal Preference and other devices

The choice between the 6 and 6+ had more to do with how I like to use the different devices I own. Personally we have a family Imac and then my wife and I have iPhones and iPad minis. I choose the 6 because I like being able to put my phone down at night and use the mini at home. I think continuity will make this even better as I will answer any calls or texts from the mini at night. I will now be tempted to upgrade my mini this year as I am still using the 1st gen mini. I could definitely see how the 6+ would be nice if it's your only device or you have a larger iPad or laptop.

I read OP's post, and it explicitly said Plus shipping time swayed him. So, I know because reading comprehension.

Ended up getting ip6 64gb. Never been close to filling 64. Bought what I needed and that's what I got

Why isn't it worth upgrading? If you want a bigger screen it definitely is worth upgrading.

That's what I said. If you upgrade to a 6+ or a 128gb model, it's a huge upgrade. If not, it's a minor upgrade and may not even be worth it.

----------

Probably right but it doesn't really stop people from doing it, myself included.

No doubt. I would probably do it, but it's still a minor upgrade.

FWIW, I sold my 5S before the keynote, had I seen the phones before I don't think I would have upgraded.

I got the 64gb 6. The plus looks great but after owning a note 3 and oneplus one for awhile, I found the size of them to be a bit awkward. Large screens look great, no doubt about it... But when I'm holding my infant and I have to reply to a text it can be difficult with a large phone. Everyone's needs are different, I'm sure we'll all be happy with our choices.

I went for the 6.

Everyone has a different story, there's no right or wrong answer on this.

After living with a large android phone for a while now. I was happy enough to down-size to the 6. I always carry my Macbook Air with me, I will whip that out when a big enough job comes in. I take calls a lot, I wanted whatever would feel closest to a phone in my hands.

It's pretty cool though to see so many Iphone users excited for the 6+ and I can understand why most would want a large phone for the first time.

having the note 3 , i went with the 6 plus.

it is the perfect size for me to drop my tablet and have it combined with my phone, i find it much more comfortable to hold during a lengthy phone call.

Basically he way I see it is that no one will
Be disappointed regardless of which phone they get. I'm already tired of people acting like someone is of lesser stature if they get the 6 instead. Both of these phones are FLAGSHIPS. It's not like last year with the flagship then amid-tiered phone. These are both the flagships. Eventually the plus line will be a different product such as the Note. The 6 is the flagship.

If you don't believe me go to Apples website and see how they're treating it. It's says iPhone starting at $199. I believe they have all
Intentions of making it seperate product lines.

What about when app developers create more cool split screen apps? Like for gaming, productivity, etc? Isn't that a consideration?

I never have an issue holding my Note 3 up to my ear. Then again, I average 15 minutes a month on this phone and it's either on speaker or Bluetooth in my car. Who talks on the phone anymore?!
