For all the hatred over the 6+ I still cannot get one for 3-4 weeks while the 6 is widely available. I guess more than just a few people are going for the 6+ and for good reason.

Funny how all these people who were forced to settle for the 6 feel the need to justify it. Me thinks they doth protest too much.

Two interesting comparisons:

I might have to swing by an Apple store and hold the 6+. According to the chart, battery life is better on the larger phone. :)

I think in time we are going to see Plus owners being rather red faced with the many jokes that are going to be aimed their way (original picture being a prime example).

It's just not a phone in the sense of being convenient to carry around day-in-day out. If I see anyone using one I'm going to think "what a pillock" and have a wry nudge at their expense.

Perhaps in the US it's more acceptable to think bigger is better, but elsewhere I think common sense will prevail about what a phone is (a PHONE) .. to be carried conveniently, not cumbersome like it will be by most Plus owners.

Why would we be red-faced? Like anything else, if I like it, I couldn't care LESS what other people think, and if I don't, then I'll sell it or give it to someone who will get better use out of it and then buy something smaller.

It seems to me that it takes someone rather smug to think we should be embarrassed by the phone we buy.

If you're not getting a 6+ or a 6 with 128gb, it's not really worth upgrading if you have a 5 or 5S.

I have to get this off my chest because I have been seeing this happen in almost every thread now. I am a bit unnerved as to why people cannot accept what others choose to use as their phone -regardless of which phone they opt for. The idea should that people use whatever they are content, or thrilled with.

Sure, some people may subconciously attempt to "justify" their decision (I'm not judging the OP by any means), however so be it -this is not a reason to begin bashing someone because you have the 6 Plus. Many of you, but not all of you, come off as elitist when remarking that "The 6+ is the only way to go," or "I bet you'll be swapping phones after x months," blah blah blah. In a way, the more I see that the more I feel some people are trying to justify their own means by cutting down on someone else's opinion. There is no right or wrong phone, it's up to each us what we want to use.

"Oh, the OP can't wait for the 6 Plus, so s/he opted for the iPhone 6." Well how do you know? There are likely more people than you can count who did the exact same thing.
We can all agree to disagree on what size of best for any given person, but leave it at that. Stop acting like children.

Well, so what if they do? Big deal? If that's what it takes, that what it takes. Many people, including myself are/were on the fence about what size to get ... and in the end we ALL (yes, even those of you who insist you know what's best for everyone) had to justify whatever phone we went with.

Was the complaint?

C'mon, it was exaggerated to be funny. The pic made me chuckle, and I even have a 6+ on order that to my shock & horror will cause me undue suffering and affliction because of the early October delay in shipping. Image

I *think* the pic of Dom Jolly may well have been 'lost in translation' with our American friends here, as I don't think they will have ever seen Trigger Happy TV. ;)

For info, THTV, was a 'hidden camera' type comedy program in the nineties (where *that* Nokia ringtone was EVERYWHERE!).

One of the sketches had Dom (man in pic) carrying a HUGE Nokia phone with him in various locations (packed train, art gallery etc) and all of a sudden the Nokia ringtone would go off and he'd put the HUGE phone to his head and say (in a REALLY loud voice, for maximum effect!), "HELLO?", "NO, IM ON THE TRAIN", invariably followed by "NO, IT'S RUBBISH!".

Cue everyone around him jumping, laughing, looking bewildered etc!

I used to think giant phones were stupid. Need to see the 6+ in person. I don't see this if I can fit the 6+ in my pocket. If I can't, the regular 6 might be a better choice. :)

Battery life on my 5S wasn't an issue, rarely went below 80% and I have chargers everywhere I go.

Rarely below 80% and having chargers everywhere is a bit redundant. My iPhone 5 is <20% on a daily basis by 5PM.

My post was referring only to the last paragraph about Americans possibly having some sort of inferiority complex.

Yeah, I was getting down to about 20-30% after an 8 hour day at Uni. I could charge it there if I wanted to though but hardly ever did. Battery isn't a problem for me personally.

Why isn't it worth upgrading? If you want a bigger screen it definitely is worth upgrading.

Or, they'll simply be happy with their purchase and enjoying it, instead of posting biter & childish comments on an Internet forum?

Nothing inconvenient for me about putting a phone in my pocket.

If I see anyone using one I'm going to think "what a pillock" and have a wry nudge at their expense.

That says (much) more about you than it does about i6+ owners.

Sounds like you were/are the school bully, trying to,put others down to make you feel better about yourself.

Don't you get it? There is no "better".

It's simply about what suits your needs & /wants.

Nothing more, nothing less.

For me, the 6+ came down to better battery life and the extra features the 6+ screen gives (OIS, extra support for apps in widescreen - especially the iPad-like mail app - and home screen landscape support)

Thinking about it now, if I was honest and if I would have waited till after the keynote to sell my 5S I don't think I would have got either the 6 or 6+.

Yes I'm pleased to have a bigger screen and small performance bump but would have been satisfied with keeping my 5S knowing what I know now.

I think when the 6S is eventually released I won't be in too much of a rush to get it. Right now i'd like to keep my 6 at least until the 7 is out.

128GB is the only reason I'm upgrading. Otherwise, I may have kept my 5s too. Though the big screen will come in handy.

See I update my phone every 2 years (even though I don't commit to a contract or anything). I always get the non-S versions. So I'm looking forward to the Touch ID, camera and performance improvements etc stuff I didn't have in the 5 anyway.

I see from your above post you are getting 6+

I can see a lot of people would find a bigger screen necessary but I don't think i'm one of them. I was perfectly happy with the screen on my 5S.

I'm definitely guilty of getting caught in the hype of the new Apple device.

I have the 5s and have gone for the Silver 128GB Plus. I expect it to replace my iPad mini (I also have an air). I've received my 6 plus spigen case and I can hold it comfortably and it fits in my jeans pocket no problem.

It's not a big deal, and despite what people say, it seems to have sold rather well....

I don't think there is one iPhone thats best for everyone and thats why its great that Apple are finally giving you an option.

I have the 5S now and while I love it I do wish the screen was a bit bigger. When typing I find my thumbs get cramped and I use it for browsing online quite a bit. I printed out the cutouts for for the 6 and 6 Plus and the 6 just isn't a big enough change for me. Holding it like I do for texting my thumbs still feel cramped and it still looks fairly small in my hands. With the 6 Plus I can easily reach across the screen and can almost hit the top corner with one hand. The only time I really use the iPhone one handed anyways is when scrolling through my Facebook feed or scrolling down a webpage. My only real concern is fitting it in my skinny jeans, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Its hard to tell the real size looking online because in pictures of people holding the 6 Plus sometimes it looks really big and other times it looks smaller. I think it depends on the size of your hands. If you've got big hands, the 6 Plus shouldn't be an issue and if it is, there is always the 6 which is just as good.
