Does anyone use those iPod socks? are they good?
I don't wanna cover it up but would like better protection while it's in the pocket/bag.

I'm surprised how many votes there were for naked. You'd expect like 75% of the forum-goers would use some sort of case.

The iPhone is a piece of art....not sure why people are covering it with rubber and ugly cover on it :) Unless you buy a case that doesn't cover everything or something that will make the iPhone look better..but not make it worse.

Hence, another reason why I purchased the warranty for accidental drop.

Most of those cases are going to cause damage anyway. My old iPhone 3G with protective case didn't protect the phone from creating a crack line to the lense. Therefore, the case was useless.

If one is going to cover it up completely, then just get an iPhone 3S and cover it up...no one will know the difference :)

On my White 4S, this is my first time using a case. I went naked with my 3GS and I just felt the need of using a case plus I only paid $7.99 for it at my job.

I got some Chinese knock-off iPod socks, they work great, and cost about $5 total for about 6-7 colors.

I've just switched from using my iPod sock as a case to the Sena Ultraslim, the sock is qute thick and seems to protect it from pocket lint etc but it won't protect it from major scratches/drops very well at all. If the iPhone is in your pocket or bag most of the time however, then the sock will be fine.

It's such a nice phone that I wouldn't want to cover it, feels as if buying a nice shirt and having on another shirt to cover it from getting dirty.

I have the original real rubber iPhone3G Z-Cover that I cut a few small holes in to adapt to my iPhone4 and now my 4S. The real rubber is much more durable than the silicon cases they're making today. And, with the real rubber, if you drop the phone on pavement, it absorbs the shock. Think of rubber like a car tire but thinner and in the shape of an iPhone cover. It's lasted me three years now, going on four now with my 4S, and it's literally as nice as the day I bought it. I've dropped my phone a few times on accident and it almost bounces off the pavement with minimal shock to the phone.

I was just wondering how many people carry their iPhone 4/4S around with no case. I have tried a couple of cases on mine and I just find myself throwing them in a drawer after a short time. The design of the phone is just too cool for me to cover it up with a case. How many of you feel the same?

I feel the same way which is probably why I've already bought a dozen cases but the one time I had it out of a case for a couple weeks I ended up cracking my screen so I definitley suggest getting a good protective case

Every time I buy an iPhone, I buy an assortment of cases and screen protectors. Within a week, they sit in a drawer collecting dust as I just hate covering up my iPhone, it loses it's major appealing factors - look and feel.

I go naked.

Would like to but need some sort of grip around the metal. If there was something smaller than a bumper, I'd get it.
Is there? :)

Anyone else find that other people are surprised when they see you don't have a case? A girl asked me "So you're going to get a case for your new phone, right?", almost like people are obligated to cover up their devices these days. I say nay nay. Similar to not wearing a condom, just be extra careful and there won't be any issues. If something does happen, its my own fault and I won't blame anyone besides myself.

Anyway. That said, I do usually have a screen protector on the back and front, just for good measure and so I can toss it and slide it around on the table and not have to worry about scratches.

I keep my phone in a Speck Pixelskin case, I haven't dropped my phone yet but I've been debating buy an Otterbox case. Just in case I accidentally drop it.
