I'm 14, and I didn't pay for it on my own, my cousin gave it to me cuz he got the 3G. and I'm limited to 200 txts a month. I don't pay for any of that, but then again, my parent's pay for everything of mine..well my brother. He also has an iPhone(3G), and 4 lines, which do of them are iPhones with 200 txts each=160$....so yeah.

Im 19 i have the 3G 16gb but i had the original iphone, it was the first phone that i bought without having to add to my dads plan.....felt like a big deal then considering i was still in high school and felt like i was breaking away and all....not so much now that i moved away....that was bigger..:p

I'm 20 now (damn I feel old) but I was 19 when I first got my iPhone.

you feel old? I am 21, bought the 1st Gen in Sept last year when I was 19. Do not have the 3G, as I have no need of it. Also, the bill I pay it full, study college and have part time job to pay for the expenses of coarse;).

Will buy the 3G eventually, after Apple Care runs out on this 1st Gen beauty.

i am planning on buying one in the next month or two and i am 19. i pay for my current phone and bill though. but i get a 15% discount off my bill for being a starbucks employee. it is awesome!

im on tmobile and am thinking about just getting one of those turbo sim cards so i can use it on tmobile with fave fives which is what i have now.

14 and lovin my iPhone! :)

For the person asking whether or not we pay for it ourselves, I do not. My family (parents, me, sister) is on a family plan so my parents pay the bill but it's cheaper that way because we get unlimited family texting, data, etc.

hybrid

Im a cross of both adults and teens. Am 28, served in the military for 10 years, left the Force, now back in college for my Bachelors. Low income doing serving jobs to supplement subsistence needs.

So as a college "kid", on the "professional" side, I reply to my Prof's mails whilst commuting to sch, listen and watch recorded web casts, reply promptly to emails sent be other students and administrators, upload my lecture notes to read as and when I need to. On the "leisure" side, check out the hot babe from Business Law Module class on facebook, watch crap on You Tube and surf for the latest sports news.

So well, I guess teenagers have their own needs for iPhone to supplement their lifestyle. Everyone will have a purpose for it unless ure the grizzly old man who's still hungover from Nam.

Hey thanks for serving our country, however, I hated you in Starwars.

i wonder what teenagers actually use the dataplan for, facebook?myspace? lolol, because i'm sure they dont have important emails to check and send. im sure they just have them to look cool.

They might be using them to make worthless posts on macrumors. :)

Im 17 and i bought my own 2G and 3G iphones and i pay my whole phone bill each month.

Im not lazy , I work 5 days a week to pay for my own stuff

I'm 16 and have one. I'm also the only one out of my friends that have them (~10) that bought his own. I live in a very rich town where everyone gets everything they want.

So I'll just wait until they get out in the real world to point and laugh at them. :D

OMG.
So yesterday when I was leaving school I saw a 14 year old with a shattered iPhone screen.
He didn't even care!
WTF.
That greatly pissed me off.

I'm 18 and I have one. I camped out for a 1st gen iPhone and I now have the 3G. But even though the 3G is still the best phone, its way too played out... Everybody has one. I like it back when I had the 1st gen iPhone, I was one of the only people who had one

I forgot to add this to my Post earlier.
I paid for my first iPhone By myself. I paid for my iPod touch By myself. Then the 3G comes around, so I bought one, once again By myself. I'm not like most "teens". I pay for my phone service. $55.00 a month to be exact.:D
