6 years i think -- whenever the sawtooth's came out

i'm throwing in a dual 1.4 should easily get me through 3 more years

Amen to that.

My dual 1.42 shows a build date of late Feb. 2003 - two to three weeks before I received it. I've upgraded it to 2GB of RAM; at some point a 9800 card may go in to replace the 9000, but it is still a very fast system and I hope to get three more years out of it as my home desktop before it gets reassigned for further use somewhere else in the house.

My 1.5 GHz PB is a few months shy of 2 yrs.

The ID App shows build location unknown, but I've just gotten on the floor and looked at the sticker "Assembled in the USA"!

My iBook is nearly 2 years old. I had the slot-loading drive go bad before the warranty expired and I also just dropped a 1GB stick in it.

Although, my iBook is definitely in that toddler phase...sometimes I love it...and sometimes I want it dead!

My Sawtooth is turning seven this year. (Though I didn't have it since then... I bought it used.)

It finally died last year of a power supply failure.

Just under three years . . .

I've had my iBook G3/900/32/14.1/640 for just about 32 months. It's also on it's third Logic Board (last one was changed just over a year ago), but otherwise it has been a great machine with no other problems.

Also have a Dell Dimension 4400 that is about three and half years old. It was a cheap PoS when I bought it and its still a cheap PoS. Hardware wise, it has toasted its DVD drive, the integrated sound has failed, and it needs constant software maintenance . . . but it still works which is more than I expected when I bought it.

iMac G5- 1 Year 1 month 3 days

iBook G4-1 Month 3 days

iMac G3- (Sofware was marked 1998) so about 8 years but i got it last week

Powerbook G4: Listed in sig. 1 year and 2 months old

Newy acquired Powermac (college was dumping them for new G5s):
Dual 800MHZ G4
1.5GB RAM
80GB Hard Drive
Zip 250MB Removable
SuperDrive
ATI 9600 PRO 256MB DDR-RAM (I just bought it for this thing)
Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.4

(Just ebayed a matching 20 inch LCD studio display, for this and my PB to share)

I just want to say Apple/Macs are addicting...I started with an iPod, then bought a PowerBook, then got the iPod Photo and now picked up a second hand Powermac...crazy...oh and I have that awesome windows box too (sarcasm, though as far as windows machines go its been very reliable). :D

the ibook in my signature (my only computer) is five months old now. And it will be replaced by an intel ibook if they have front row and DVI!

About 20 years for my Mac Plus and 22 years for my Apple IIe. :D 7 years for my iMac 333 Grape and 6.5 years for my G4 400 AGP Graphics. Yeah, I know, I need to get some new Macs. My next purchase will be the Rev. B MacBook Pro.

I actually still have one of the very very first macs, an actual mac classic, have no idea how old, but well over 10 years, that for sure, Still love the thing, has fun games like lemmings and mac factory. Can read mails and surf a little not much, no java, but man.. still works fast (on its own version of mac os) and has never in ten years crashed, NOT ONCE !!! Now that's what I call PURRFECTION ! If he does ever fail you can always do this:D :D

And may it rest in piece, or more likely in "pieces"
Amen...
