I'm glad there are other people on this board who can avoid the upgrade bug. Seems like a lot of people here needlessly trade up every year.

I've got a Macbook 3,1 that I bought the day it was released. So that makes it just over 41 months old now. The week before my Applecare ran out I took it in to have the top case replaced, and they gave me a new battery as well. So I've got 140 cycles and 96% health.

A few months ago I upgraded to the SSD + Optibay combination. It was like getting a new machine. Hopefully I can keep her going for another 3 years.

It's a used Macbook I got out of a trade recently (also got a 1st gen iTouch with it). $35 on eBay is nothing though (even if the battery is a cheap knockoff, it'll have more mAh than what I've got).

On second battery (first replaced in recall), which is reporting not charging

Wifi very very weak, have third party mini Wifi dongle instead
Backlight flickers quite a lot

My Alumin Unibody 13" (5,1 / removable battery) is still holding 77% after 879 loadcycles and is 29 months old. I've seen quite a bit better than this from my friend's even older notebooks but I'm not complaining. (Had one friend who is at 1329 loadcycles and is holding 91% from his black 13" first gen intel mb).

Love everything about my BlackBook except for the part about it struggling to play Unreal 2004 on medium settings.

I'm still using the stock 2GB ram, how much of an increase in performance have some of you seen? Does anyone else have the occasional "not charging" problem?

It is a refurb. and is still holding up. I think i've got the update bug but it might also be that the cpu gets to around 190-200 degrees all the time.

That's really impressive - 96% capacity after 4 years and 1100 cycles.

How do you usually use your computer? Is it always plugged in? Do you often run your battery flat?

Doesn't really do 4 hours of usage anymore. It's a shame. Wondering if buying a new battery is actually worth it instead of just getting a new laptop altogether.

Maximum charge: -1 mAh :D. Does it mean the battery is dead?
