iPad How to carry iPad without using a man purse?

While I was out at Goore's shopping for my wife's mother's day gift I picked up a little something for myself. It's a GR8X Messenger Bag. Not only does it fit my iPad in the inside compartment with the Apple case, but the main compartment fits my 13" MBP with the neoprene sleeve.

So this 'manly' bag holds my gadgets as well as my infant's junk like diapers, wet wipes, formula bottle, etc.

I'm at a loss. How am I supposed to carry around my iPad without having to carry it in my hands all the time and having to resort to using a man purse?

Only thing I can think of is a holster like contraption kind of like cops use to hold their guns under their arms.

This thread makes me giggle. I do feel sorry for the guys, as most of the bags I've seen made for iPad are kinda feminine. As a chick, I have the pick of the pack on bags.

I second the Army Surplus stores -- that's where I went to get a good solid flight bag to carabiner to my hot air balloon when I'm flying. Fits the iPad as well, but iPad actually travels w/chase crew on the ground so they can use Google Maps.

No imagine a gun holster that sits under the arm but made for iPad. Something like that.

Everyone who watches TV or movies knows real cops (and PI's) carry their guns tucked in the back of their pants!

Personally, I go "Magnum, PI" with a Hawaiian shirt, Tigers cap, and my iPad tucked into the back of my white short-shorts.

The Nat Geographic backpacks have a cushioned laptop pocket on the back with an external zipper which zipps up. You can put the ipad in there and zip it up with just headphone wires coming out at the top. If you have decent headphones with play controls, its very convenient.

I use this manly bag grrrrrr for most of my small carrying needs and a proper laptop backpack when I need to carry a bit more. I figure it wouldn't look out of place on Indiana Jones or Jack Bauer so I'm not going to stress it. Always over the head mind, not just hanging off a shoulder.

I bought this case, and it's served me well so far. It's small enough that I don't have to overcompensate with extra space for a laptop with my messenger bag, but small enough that it fits my iPad and five star binder.
