Mine did work for a while, then stopped randomly... I never had to call anyone, I just updated my carrier file then entered the information in cellular data, restarted and it worked... then after trying to get tethering to work it disappeared, so something caught it and disabled it... either the network or the phone, I don't know...

Try turning off tethering. That seemed to bring it back for me.

Tried that... I gave up on tethering after it made the option to use MMS go away... I wanted to see if it worked but I would never really use it much, since everywhere I go has wifi, mostly... :( Thanks for the help tho

Negative on the updated ipcc.

This has been interesting for me, as I've sifted through both threads and just can't get it to work. My experience so far:

-I haven't been able to make mms work... The closest I get is up to 95% sent, then red exclamation point.

-Lost visual voicemail for about six hours, tried the fix in another thread, but didn't immediately work so I started to panic. Left it alone for a couple of hours and visual voicemail is back.

-Tried tethering over bluetooth, but the very second I connected, it disappeared and I haven't seen that option since.

I don't know what's going on with the tethering, but since I have netshare I'm not going to sweat it. I'm sure MMS is possible right now but I believe it's being restricted through our "iPhone data plans" by AT&T. Aaleck's screenshot proves that it works so it makes me think AT&T has finally figured us out in what we're trying to do.

There is certainly something at work against us. The only thing I don't know is what. I honestly don't think it has something to do with the network (I don't have any opt-out on my messaging plan) because once I do it once and it works, I then restart my phone and goes away. I then RE-DO everything and I've got it to work again, then restart my phone and it'll go away again.

I've tried everything minus that T-Mobile suggestion, and nothing works. I don't know what changed after Beta 2, but I haven't gotten MMS to work since then. I'm also on an unlimited family messaging plan.

I did what everyone else did except the calling ATT for the opt-out because my 3g is still on the old iPhone Data+200 Texts plan (all for 20 bucks!) and don't want to risk them switching me over.:p It still doesn't work, tried sending MMS to someone on an iPhone 3g and on a N95 and neither went through, just get the red exclamation point. Tethering over USB and Bluetooth work very well though! :apple:

This whole thing boggles my mind. After giving up to watch some TV, I turned on my wifi to surf the app store... I then, for whatever reason, thought... "hey, maybe it'll work with wifi" and tried sending a MMS. It worked. I was dumbfounded. I then turned wifi off, and it kept working.

I haven't changed my phone in any way, I was trying earlier and it didn't work and I never restarted my phone or changed anything... I just added a hour or two to the time that the device has been on.

So, to test this out, I restarted the phone and tried to send a MMS. Nope. I then turned on wifi and tried it again. Nope. Moral of the story? This is seriously messed up. Haha. I included screenshots of my settings and of the MMS action....

Odd.

Wifi is a no go with me. I noticed you're on EDGE, so I turned 3G off and tried... Still a no go. But I have yet to successfully send a MMS... You've done it several times now.

Hmm...

anyone help I can only get one to work. Im new on the mac. I not sure about renaming it or zipping it.

Try using the "Reset Settings" under carrier info, then try... I did that once and it worked.

If you can actually select the ipcc file but it errors out, when you're applying it, I have no idea... have you tried a different ipcc file? There is plenty of them to choose from, but I think they're all the same...

and when you're trying to upload it, make sure it looks like this in finder...

NOT this...

I did that. Its right. I did another one but it was called something else before I renamed it. I installed 3.0 and itunes and still no go.

Ok this is what i did and now i have MMS back on Iphone final OS 3.0. It's Leaked encase you haven't found out.

I first downloaded iPhone1,2_3.0_7A280f_Restore.ipsw, search it on your fav tor site.

I click shift+ restore and chose the upgrade, and as expected MMS was not working. Went on youtube and downloaded the ipcc file on this video

youtube.com/watch?v=zEjpeogDGpM

Then using iTunes 8.2.0.10 i upgraded the ipcc using the file i downloaded on the link of that video. Finally i rebooted the phone by shutting it off and back on and it worked. Just tested it by sending a pic to another phone and it worked.

Give it a Try!

That's strange...... I found this one..... iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

i have downloaded 10 dif ipcc files tongith i think some were similar, cant get MMS working, got tethering working. im giving up befor i break my voicmail or something.

Didn't work for me.

After the reset, of course I lost the MMS option. But because my primary concern is visual voicemail, I tested that out under "wap.cingular" and worked fine while eight hours ago I needed the "acds.voicemail" fix (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/716133/).

Turned wifi and 3G off and tested visual voicemail... No notification.

Turned 3G back on and got notification. Wifi still off.

Restarting iPhone for MMS test...

I still can't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a couple of screen shots......

Thanks for the guide. I mostly just wanted to have some fun with tethering and I got it to work. I'll probably end up calling AT&T and asking about MMS enabling thing in the morning.

By the way, I'm posting this via my phones 3G connection on my HP laptop. ;)

Mine has been working for a couple days now. What I did was put my sim card into my old nokia at&t phone. I still couldn't send mms or connect to medianet. then i did a tech chat with att and told him i have an iphone but i have to switch my sim card out because we aren't allowed to have them at work, and i can't connect to medianet or send mms. So he fixed that I switched my sim card back to my iphone and have been able to send mms since.

What the H! okay here is what is going on with mine. When ever I try to load up the "IPCC" file it is grayed out. I tried downgrading Itunes, and it still does not work. any ideas why this would be?

You need to use the PRE-RELEASE version of iTunes 8.2, the one that came with Beta 5, I think. You can't use any version after that, because they blocked the use of the updating the carrier file with iTunes after that.
