Now that skinny jeans and low rise pants have migrated over to men's fashion, this means tighter fit and shorter pockets, thus less space for ginormous phones. Less space means less free play and more pressure points -- more than enough pressure to bend metal.

So, I guess the solution is for cargo pants to come back in style.

I see two options. A, don't wear skinny jeans. B, don't wear skinny jeans while using the 6+.

How to stop 6 Plus bending?

One thing to consider: the temperature body has influence in aluminum flexibility and respectively the bent.

Since you dont use tight clothes, use it! And when you wear a coat or jacket, use its pockets since the iPhone will be secured there against acidental falls or thieves...

PS: The main thing to think is making yourself most confortable possible...

Your body heat isn't enough to increase the malleability of aluminum in any appreciable way.

Suit pants for 18 hours. He drove with it in his pants pocket, dancing at a wedding, etc. Who knows how it got bent. Did someone sit on his lap? Not enough details.

I get that, it's just that a lot of people were commenting about sitting on the phone in the back pants pocket or wearing tight jeans - neither of which reportedly happened. Maybe it was shipped to him bent and he just noticed it.

It's a really big phone. Don't put it in your pants pockets unless they're really big. How people didn't foresee this issue is beyond me.

Sitting on it is hardly normal usage. Of course, I don't go around sitting on laptops or TV screens either...

This is a silly thing to say. Agreed sitting on your phone is not all that smart, but you don't put a laptop or TV in your pocket.

I'll file this under: Terrible analogies

They make it out of aluminum, people bend them through thoughtless behavior and then complain. If they made them out of steel or something less likely to bend, these same people would complain about the weight. :apple: can't win.

You can call it whatever you want, but if you do something with any object that falls outside of what is considered normal usage for it, guess what? It may break. I know that may come as quite a shock to some people, but it doesn't change the fact that it's true.

please stop the non-issue threads. Good grief, what's next to show? Perhaps putting the iPhone 6+ in the freezer will stop it from working and this is a big issue because it's meant to be able to put stored in a freezer

This is ridiculous. Body heat will not measurably impact the metals malleability.

I'm hoping putting on a decent case like the Otterbox Communter will help the structural integrity of the phone.

I'll consider the Lifeproof if they can design it in a way that won't increase the dimensions too much.

I completely do not agree the idea that you have to change your life style for a phone. The simple solution would be return the 6+ and get a 6. I am not saying that would completely solve this matter, but it would be much better.
However, if you really like your 6+, buy a hard case might help.
Depends what your life style is really and how you usually use your phone

I wish they made a version of this case for the iphone 6.

I took the stupid screen out of it and put a screen protector on instead. If they'd make it similar, except thinner without the flaps on everything, I'd buy it.

Any stiff cases that you can recommend? This would help also.

I can't believe anyone sits with their phone in their rear pocket.

There is no case that is stiff enough to stop your phone from getting bent. Even the famous OtterBox is flexible and will allow your phone to bend with enough pressure applied to it.

Non-hipsters shouldn't have a problem. I have regular fit jeans and I don't feel any sort of pressure on the phone when I'm sitting. If you feel pressure, either get looser jeans, or a smaller phone.

Nope, it bends the moment you get into bucket seats on a sports car.

Common sense reveals it would have great battery life and structural rigidity had Apple made it thicker.

They'd also be able to brag.... Something they love doing, that they have this sturdy long lasting smartphone. And a real reason to be proud.

Yet I'm sure their vanity is pumped up over how skinny the Bendy Big iPhone is.

J. Ive can take credit for this unique free feature.

How to stop 6 Plus bending?

This will be interesting to watch. Is 6 plus bending like a shark attack, dramatic but very rare. Or is this a design flaw or production problem that occurs somewhat frequently or worse for users?

BTW, I think the idea that people need to somehow not put pluses in pockets and such is ridiculous. If you can't use the phone like other phones, larger or not, something is very wrong.

Loose fitting pants. More extreme options include a fanny pack, holster, or perhaps a lanyard. I could see entire fashion industries popping up to support this! :D

Just treat it like you paid 1000 dollars for it and use a goddamn case. Don't sit on it or put it in tight jeans. Why isn't this common sense.
