HP to Acquire Palm in $1.2 Billion Deal

And yet the Palm Pre failed miserably. Aside from the Blackberry, I see more people with an iPhone and no one with a Palm Pre. I guess Apple's closed system doesn't bother people the way you make it seem.

But HP is a cheap, crap line. Their consumer computers have some of the most budget components you can get. They're budgetness is only surpassed by dell.
I bought my girlfriend a palm pre and I gotta say that the OS is very nice. Multi-tasking is done very well and the device itself is quite speedy. The Web OS Quick Install tool is handy as well. My girlfriend now has a boot screen that says her name
HP makes crappy laptops that are cheap and made to be sold at Walmart, you won't get anything decent unless you buy their premium line and even those aren't the greatest. They haven't even been able to create a Tablet that got people running to the stores to buy, Apple did though.
It's too bad that you shop only at Walmart. Otherwise you would know that HP produces excellent laptops like this HP EliteBook 8540w Mobile Workstation Quad Core ($5,549.00 with all options).
It has quad core i7, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA Quadro graphics card and many other features not available on MBPs (and I know - specs do not matter)
HP is a real computer company. They have computers that range in price from very cheap to very expensive (much more so than Apple computers). What's your point?
Sarcasm? Because the HP Envy line would kind of disagree with their pretty solid ATI gpu, and in the 15in model the option of a quad core cpu, heating issue on the quad core aside(the i5 doesn't face this issue).
A computer is so much more than just a CPU and GPU.
They all use bottom of the barrel Pegatron boards.

Yes actually. Foxconn makes some very good parts. They even go all the way up to gaming hugh end. They even make some of Pegatron's board.

Here look at the iMac, it has solid capacitors. (Which are most likely Japanese) A sign of an excellent quality board. They also appear to have some sort of ferrite chokes.

Palm was great. Loved my Treo. 10 years ago. Butler crashed it daily. Any Palm man that is not an iPhone man now is still waiting for new episodes of Seinfeld.

Amen, HP's preinstalled bloatware is horrible. My neighbor just bought a Windows 7 HP notebook and I've had to go to his house 4 times within a month because the webcam software kept saying, "No camera Installed" and then Internet Explorer had the jitters and wouldn't stop and we had to use Firefox and FF wouldn't allow Flash to be installed for some reason. HP is junk. Period. I love how some of the Mac haters are defending the HP elite line when most of HP's customers don't buy that line.
I was being kind at 300mb. Their printer drivers are 259mb on a Mac. iTunes is not small, but you get the point.
Lardass is an understatement with their driver and add on garbage.
