I personally think that Apple is making a mistake when not adressing a dual lens inside the iPhone 7 but instead focusing on the 7plus sized iPhone and put a dual sized lens in that phone.

While other, same sized models, smartphones from other companies are being installed with a dual lens the iPhone isn't, that is....if the rumors are correct.

I like the fact, again if the rumors are correct, that the new iPhone 7 will. Be made with less visible antenna band and most probably with even a better single sized camera then the iPhone 6S, bbut for me it's not that compelling IF aboven rumors are correct.

I probably going to wait until the iPhone 8 that will come ith some dramatically changes, a whole new design, oled screens, perhaps no more "physical" buttons, one big screen to all edges and maybe even a screen sized iPhone where both left and right borders will be a screen too...

But then again, those are just rumors too :)

I want quad cameras now, dual camera is for suckers.

What about 16 camera's then?

ha, i couldnt stand it anymore.. registered, so hi everyone))

i just wanna say.. APPLE **** YOU! The only thing that is left from the Iphone is the iOS..

love the apple products, got iMac, MacbookPro, iphone, ipad blablabla..

but man.. lately.. no innovations at all.. and the last couple of events.. its just like "Our people worked incredibly hard blablabla..", "The fastest apple product ever" (D'ohhh!! imagine if you created something slower than the previous version, although after the SE release, I wont be surprised if they do something stupid) only thing that matters is $$$$$$

frustrations are enormous from my side.. yes its still quality, but no innovations at all except for the innovative sick prices! my god.. buy a ticket to the USA, get a macbook pro and an iphone = free trip to USA!!! compared if buying those 2 items in europe!

still selling 16GB version of iphone = a freaking joke and pushing people to get the 64gb for 100 euro extra.

- The new macbook with a poor quality camera, but with a big phat price!
- ipad pro, "that could replace your laptop, according Tim", HELL NO! show me how!!! not running El Capitain.. apps aren't there yet.. keyboard 180 euro, pencil 100 euro etc.. so how the hell is this a pro?! big fail, apple big fail..
- SE should be an internal note like a few others said here, or a silent upgrade of iphone 5s

according the rumors iphone7 will not be redesigned, just a faster phone with a dual camera, and only 1 port.. oh wait, 1mm thinner! wowww!!.. where the hell is the innovation or redesign? ehm.. helloo??? battery life?! no? nothing?

im just soo pissed off, apple is ripping us off.. and we still buying their products.. once again.. only thing has left = their operating system that's freaking it!

I would agree, however, so far as I know every other phone that has a dual lens is also a big screen device, so the argument that it fits better in bigger phones could very well be legit at present. It's only a solution to the problem of focusing etc, I'm guessing the tech doesn't exist for optical zoom lenses in phones, not since Nokia did it with the N93 and every other phone that has done it since has been a huge brick. I read reports before that they were messing around with liquid lenses to solve the problem, guess that didn't work either.

Not sure which is the more meaningless complaint...the camera bump, or bezels.
Both of those are valid complaints. The bump makes the phone not sit flat on surfaces and can damage the camera when not in a case and many people don't use cases. The extra bezels leave less room for more screen real estate. I think what's meaningless is ignoring issues and having some weird belief that there's no room for improvement in a product.

The big story here is the F/1.1 lens. That means the lens is 8x bigger than the iPhone's, which allows 8x more light in dark scenes, or 8x faster shutter speed for reduced motion blur. Also, it should result in sharper pictures because of the smaller diffraction-limited Airy disk on the sensor.

Phone cameras really need these larger lenses because you can still tell when an image is taken with a phone camera.

Edit:

Actually I'm not sure if it really is a bigger F/1.1 lens, or some "equivalent" F/1.1 lens based on dual-cameras.

It is actually f:2.2 . Look at their website. Macrumors got it all wrong.

what about the battery life?

- battery life
- camera bump (for apple, big fail!)
- bezels, my god.. apple please..

perhaps some innovations? 360 pano's would be cool if they would have something for it
ultra wide angle lens feature as well

Yes I seriously want you to find a flagship smartphone that used a Gold case before the 5s.

Yeah, that was a challenge:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/unlocked-Nokia-6700-Classic-Gold-With-16GB-card/262267817771
http://www.phonearena.com/news/We-d...ones-that-can-say-that-for-themselves_id74035
https://www.mobilegazette.com/motorola-razr-v3i-gold-0512x10.htm

That took 2 minutes of googling.
God, Apple fanboys are soooo tiresome.

Apple invented almost nothing during it's 40 years. It has excelled in making stuff useful and available, not in being first.

I think we are quite a few around here who still remember the sad times when Apples OS were decades behind. Remember that it's not even 15 years ago we still ran Mac OS 9 and had to manually assign memory to each application.
When Mac OS came out 30 years ago, it was ahead of the competition, but it stagnated over the next 15 years and all the competition was miles ahead by the time Apple finally got Mac OS X through the doors. It feels a little bit we're going down that path once more...

Talking about hardware and innovation in the days of binned parts and monolithic factories churning out multiple companies' lines of products to fit the entire market range seems ludicrous. Why do we do this with every phone release. OMG THEY USE THE SAME BINNED PARTS! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING.

Dual cameras on a smartphone....
A gimmick in April, magical in September.

True; but on the other hand, it's all about the software behind those dual cameras. Apple traditionally has done some pretty cool things with software that end up putting them a step or two back in front of the competition in the fall. We'll see what happens later this year...

Do you actively use all those phones or are you just dragging out the ol' software line?

That's a flip phone. I said FLAGSHIP SMARTPHONE.

I said FLAGSHIP SMARTPHONE. I don't care about flip phones and limited release phones.

The iPhone 5s was the first flagship smartphone in gold that was a mass market item (there were special edition gold phones since the beginning of time)

People have short memories. Historically, Apple has rarely been first to the market with new hardware like this. Many manufacturers rush to put the 'latest' hardware and technology into their devices just to say they were first without actually thinking about how to best use it.

Apple has always taken a little longer to develop the best, or most useful way of implementing modern technologies. Want examples? Look at pretty much every successful product and service launch from the Mac, iPod, iPhone, iPad right up to Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Watch. Apple were rarely first, but were often the most successful because what they delivered wasn't just "new", it was actually useful.

Apple will use this technology at a later time brand it as their own a la retina, and call it revolutionary.

The dual camera strikes me the same way smartwatches did: when there is a rumour Apple is doing something, within months competitors roll out whatever the rumour said.

If there was a rumour iPhone 7 is going to be ****-coloured, we'd be seeing Tasteful Brown option in this Huawei phone (and all others within three months). The only company that doesn't copy others' colours is Sony... or was, because Xperia X is coming in gold, rose gold and black. I wonder how they came up with this idea? (Z5 comes in black, gross, disgusting and eww. And I own a Sony phone.)

Do you actively use all those phones or are you just dragging out the ol' software line?

No, I don't use all those phones. My generalized statement was based on past reviews from people who review smartphones for a living.

In 1840, British scientist Warren de la Rue developed an efficiently designed light bulb. That was DECADES before Thomas Edison created a practical light bulb.

Edison is remember as the inventor of the light bulb because he was the first one to make a practical application that actually worked.

I'll let you connect the dots who is Edison and who is Warren de la Rue in regards to Apple/Huawei.
