All these devices with "notches" makes me sick, yet I have a feeling in the very near future I may not have an option. There is a solution to this, however Cook & Co. don't seem to consider thinking logically. Who cares how many devices you sold with the "notch" it is in very poor design, Jobs is rolling in his grave.

And the Oscar goes TO?.....

How does make a difference which regions of the world ironically one of them being where the iPhone is manufactured. The excuses the apologists face the fact. The iPhone has competition.

Plenty of opportunity it seems when it comes to lower priced Android phones. I would imagine this worries Samsung quite a bit. Still wild to me how many people don't care about privacy though, Huawei has one of the worst privacy policies I have seen - everything on their phones, financial info, personal contacts, employment info, is all available to them.

So what? Why do I care if Huawei gets all the info? There is no guarantees that if I use iPhone, NSA won't have all my info.

All you financial info, employment info are all available to someone else all the time.

Well duh. How on earth can our products compete in markets that tariff the crap out of American goods? The same iPhone 8 64GB sells for 790$US in China vs $699 in the US.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro was $800 when it was released, what are you talking about.

Just like they were suppose to have a fingerprint sensor beneath the display.
Haha I love the idiots that were so wrong about that under display fingerprint,
Maybe Samsung can figure it out in 2020 when everyone will be using face id

They likely are yes
How do you know,

How do you know,

Yup, Samsung was caught flat footed.
And bought the wrong technology.

So much for driving the industry forward.

How do you know,
It's already been done, the FPS under screen so if samsung want to do it next year the technology is already there.

I tired it, barely works, So bad,
That’s why no major phone maker uses it, so no it hasn’t been really done correctly, it is horrendous,
[doublepost=1533150002][/doublepost]
That's Apple being cute.
Don’t be silly,
[doublepost=1533150058][/doublepost]
Maybe Cook can remove another port and try to see how badly he can piss off more customers
Apple deserves a beat down
They are getting more and more customers they aren’t losing any, good try though,
Facts only please
[doublepost=1533150137][/doublepost]
*cough* says you *cough* :D

And watch sales go up? Apple obviously isn't getting a beat down, and there is no spin that can be made to that effect.
Yea lots of people make up stuff,
Most likely the peeps that can’t afford iPhone, just jealous that’s all
[doublepost=1533150363][/doublepost]
Shouldn't a sale of a Huawei phone credit Apple with another 2/5 ths of a phone sale?
What are you trying to say?

Really? You're really playing the victim in the tariffs game.

Don't forget, there are 200+ other countries in this world. The US is just one.

It’s amazing how ignorant people are, I think they just say whatever and expect people to believe them? Just odd to make stuff up.

Let's not forget that Huawei sells TONS of models. I count 34 different models here:

Let's also not forget that Huawei phones have an average selling price around $200. And considering they have a few premium models above $600... imagine how many units they must sell that are below $200 to get that average.

In short... it's no surprise that Huawei can move a lot of units. Cheap phones tend to sell in crazy volumes. They always have. Look at the Android market in general.

But if you look at the chart in this article... there were actually fewer smartphones sold last quarter than a year ago. Apple actually went up a little bit... but Samsung and others went down by a lot more.

So Huawei's increase in smartphones took sales away from Samsung and others. That's where the battle is.

I don't know why everyone is so freaked out that Apple has dropped to the #3 spot on the chart. In truth... the position doesn't matter. Apple is still the only company selling iOS phones... a platform that is huge in its own right.

Price isn't the only factor. It's the features of said iPhone SE ... it's VERY limited beyond basic App Store, Safari, HomeKit etc. Users will ALWAYS want the latest and greatest once they've tasted it. The SE needs to get both chipset, screen, and hardware design.

Such a silly statement

The 'new features' unfortunately WILL hold back the bezel-less models for at least another year.
- why is FaceID slower in seconds than TouchID? holding the screen at arms length away from your face, FaceID will not work. I LOVE the security enhancements of FaceID - ensuring that you're looking at the phone.

I'd personally like to see full iOS layout rotation in core apps, for now seems only the iPad is getting the love, with partial love to the "plus" models. Gimping the X on this is sad. Also why is iOS 11.4 still forcing iPhone X users to tap+hold the app in App Switching before an app can be fully closed?! Grrr.

Older models will begin to feel the pain of lack of features:
6, 6S, and SE. The potentially bad thing is that users may 'expect' brand new features to trickle down even though those aging Apple iPhones, and when they don't get it ... could loose those users. I'd like to see Apple offer slightly more for aging phones being brought back for credit towards newer models.

Samsung sales tanked, and according to a wsj article dated today, the s9 sales are abysmal and is due in part “to less costly rivals wooing more budge conscious users”. What that means is the competition is taking business from Samsung, not Apple.

This is essentially it. So whilst these adverts were funny Samsung need to take the fight elsewhere.

The amount of salt and tears in this thread.
These android/Samsung freaks, should go on android central, but all they do is talk about Apple, must be because they can’t buy one

It is an illusion be be viewed as a luxury brand. What ever happened to the iPhone C the casing that was over engineered. I guarantee if iOS was permitted on third-party hardware, Apple sales will tank. This is a slippery slow as the illusion that iOS is more secure than AndroidOS may or may not be warranted, and allowing other parties to install it leave less control for Apple.
[doublepost=1533151609][/doublepost]Why would Apple lower the prices,
Some people forget that it’s a business,
I think it’s the unemployed people that call for Apple to lower their prices.
