No 4k, no 32gb, no longer battery life, no pencil support, low end graphics, awful keyboard, no HDMI/SD/magsafe, and far more expensive.

Not impressed.

I'm with you. Not impressed at all. Plus, I'd have to sell my first born to buy one! LOL.

Overall I give it a solid "meh."

The trackpad intrigues me, but I have never once thought "I wish my fairly good sized trackpad was even bigger." But hey, maybe it's awesome. I'll have to try one out next time I'm at the Apple store.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I'm going to hate the new keyboard.

That was always the case for years now.

I have reached the edge of my track pad many times.

Now... NO MORE LIMITS!

I'm not sure where you're getting this information about how the price hasn't changed. The new models are about $200-300 more expensive than comparable 2015 units(based on low end 2015 compared to low end 2016, etc).

Then I'm glad Apple makes an expensive new computer for you. I don't think it's something I'll need.

When youre spending 2.5-3k the difference in 200$ doesnt make it buyable or not buyable.

You couldn't afford it the last 3 years either. What is the point you are making?

In the last three years if you wanted a 512/16GB machine (256 not usable) it was always gonna be way over 2K no matter what.

I agree with the OP that this is the best Apple has done in a while regarding innovation, however, this is a no go for me. The lack of USB and SD card slot baffles me. I use SD cards almost daily to transfer media to my MBP. Having an external reader is a pitta. The lack of magsafe baffles me as well. I settled with the iPhone 7 and no headphone jack, not sure if I can settle without these ports on my MBP.

This has been true for almost 10 years now.

Macbook pro is a dongle based computing solution.

Its everything and nothing.

Some people want to charge it over night and just use it wirelessly all day, some people want to dock it to 4 screens and a dozen peripherals.

You can do both. I would never complain about a dongle.

Every port you want you have it. Just get the right adapters. Its different for everyone.

But it works for everyone.

I guess I was under the impression that the Kaby lake processors were ready to go. I was wrong then.

Not to be a dick, and that's not my intention. But.. if you didn't even know they were out yet, how could you have possibly known they were the " best " and that it was sad they weren't in the MacBook. It sounds to me like you're hoping on a bandwagon and actually know very little about the CPUs in these things. Just because it's newer, doesn't mean it's the best, in fact, the KL line is actually underpowered compared to skylake. Not to mention, you're running an operating system that is just better than windows, more efficient, and down right faster.

The new high end models are about the same price as my current 2015 high end model when I bought it last year, a bit over $3K.

I can't tell whether this is a serious thread or a piss-take.

It's a thread from Bobby. After seeing him in PRSI, it's difficult to ascertain where his mind is.

So you're changing your argument now? You stated that the price didn't go up. It did, and that's a fact.

You couldn't afford it the last 3 years either. What is the point you are making?

And you know that for a fact? Good to know. I'll make sure to get rid of the rMBP I have at home that I apparently didn't have the money to buy.

In the last three years if you wanted a 512/16GB machine (256 not usable) it was always gonna be way over 2K no matter what.

The price went up. That is my point.

Yeah, same guy who thinks Hillary no longer has a chance to win the election and thinks Donald Trump will actually make a good president. That Bobby. MR's local idiot. But there are times I do laugh and agree with a few things he said.

You should agree with him on the example you provided ;)

Better than thinking Hillary will actually make a good president.
