This is what I'm thinking.

Can you pin chats and keep going back to it?

For example on Chat GPT I have a pinned chat where I have asked it to list the nutritional values in the order that My Fitness Pal lists them, and to estimate any values that a label doesn't show. I just go to that pinned chat, show a nutritional label and it does it all in seconds.

I just tried iPadOS 27 and you can pin chats

While waiting, I smoked some ribs, a pork butt and some Guinness jerky. Might as well do a brisket too since this could take a while.

All of that looks AMAZING! 😋

Never thought I’d be discussing/looking at literal smoked meats on the MacRumors Forums.

Closing in on 48 hours on the wait list… this is torturous for my ADHD brain.
I'm at 36 hours....I think they put all iCloud accounts into a random lottery system 🙂

I just tried playing with it on my Mac, and I can confirm this is amazing. This is exactly what I was expecting: a chatGPT / Claude / Gemini that can pick up the data on my Mac to answer anything personal.

Can't wait to be out of the waiting list to have it on my phone and to have it in French. But it should be quick, it actually already speaks French if you ask him

I was able to enable new Siri AI and bypassed the waitlist by following this Reddit post. It works. My M1 Max 32GB is firing up all it's cores (I can see the temperature rising as it's doing what I asked 🙂). Anything it requires internet access for does not currently work;only local tasks.

I'm not impressed so far. Asked Siri to call someone tonight while driving. "Are you ready?" WTH would I not be ready when I just asked Siri to call? At one point, it asked me to unlock my iPhone in order to make a phone call (I have it set in settings to not require iPhone to be unlocked for Siri).

Did this also speed you up on getting off the waitlist at the account level?

I just realized that this was the forum for iOS/iPadOS, oops. I did not upgrade to iOS 27 beta on my iPhone so I wouldn't know the answer to that. However, seems like people from that Reddit thread are reporting that it doesn't speed it up at the account level.

Yes, you can pin chats. As long as you have it set up to auto-delete, you should be able to keep going back.

I’ve started to have conversations with google AI search. If I search somethign specific the AI reponse might give enough information and then I’ll follow up directly. I’d love that level of coverage from siri AI

It’s definitely better but personally I still think it’s crap still gets stuff wrong but it’s beta 1 so hopefully it gets better

I just gained access to the new Siri this morning, and so far the only thing I'm blown away by is how terrible it is. Super sluggish, just stops responding. Pretty pathetic so far. Sure hope it gets a lot better.

Heres a few interesting comparisons:

Clearly Google is ahead in terms of generative results but the others are pretty much like for like.

I won't post the images here because its a public forum but I also tried asking both of them to add some uploaded MP3s to an Apple/YT Music playlist which Gemini couldn't do but Siri accomplished straight away. Perhaps the most amazing thing was Gemini was unable and unwilling to delve into my Gmail to provide historical context for a query yet Siri had no trouble using a common pub from my Photos location data as a suggestion. Both were able to pull up the England World Cup fixtures and add them to my Calendar.

Search summaries are still utterly wrong though!

Has anyone been able to get Siri to tell them where someone is based off their location in Find My? Previously I could ask it where X was and it would tell me, now it just says it doesn't understand.

I said “what’s so and so’s location?” And it worked.
