That has nothing to do with the thread topic.
The S3 doesn't run iOS and is not an iPhone.
Actually in some ways it does. (Regarding people potentially switching). You made reference to wanting Apple to spin the new design in such a way that made you feel warm and fuzzy about what was being released. Others have stated they don't need the spin and will take matters into their own hands if what is rumoured is what is in the end delivered.
Fortunately, you don't have to sign a two year contract for Dijon Mustard!
Haha !! I had to laugh at this!!
I believe that Apple tries to make the best products possible.
If they are making the screen that size, it sends the message that they believe a bigger screen is not better than a 4" screen, otherwise they would have made it bigger.
So if they are trying to make the best balance, then that is the conclusion.
It's true though, a bigger screen is still a small screen and watching videos or surfing the web is still going to be happening on a relatively small phone screen.
Slightly bigger is still not big enough to give tradeoffs like comfort in the hand and pocket.
They can make any size they want. But they chose to make it 4".
I am curious to see what they say and find out why they chose that.

I also hope the speakerphone for music gets louder.
I used to think the way you do too Bobby, well, not quite that simplistically, but noting how (yes it' is a very green practice and is good for the money aspect) how Apple keeps recycling old parts from units they are no longer selling into new products with small incremental upgrades, kinda really depressed me. If there are stronger chips, processors etc on the market, why not just release a bloody phone or laptop that has ALL of the current goodies in it so people don't HAVE to upgrade in a couple of years to Apple's version of the newest and best tech.
Now I feel that it is all about business and profit. How can we maximize the profit on our old tech and on our newly released tech? How can we milk and cater to the profit we are making on apps with our developers. I mean, we can't have them all stressed out by having to design new app updates that caters to a different dimension of screen? People will start screaming FRAGMENTATION!!! Also, it would likely cost them more to keep balance on iOS updates between old tech that no longer would be compatible with the newer and larger screen devices and things like LTE that have to be driven by more powerful chipsets. Heaven forbid that they have to have 2 different versions of the same app for the older models like the 3GS and the newer models if the screen was 4.3+? It seems they are trapped themselves within the eco system they have created. Also, I can understand them wanting to release a product that is great and not have issues, which is likely why they are waiting on LTE, to have a chipset that saves enough energy to work within the new/old tech combination they use for their phones.
Any data to support this claim?
(regarding Samsung beating on Apple) I suggest with great concern, the massive hit that Samsung's company will take if Apple does with the current patent lawsuit that is currently ongoing.....
Lol I live in West LA so I see 5 Rolls Royces like every day. Sometimes 2 at the same intersection. I also see way more iPhones vs any other phone.
There's nothing to be embarrassed about unless you're a judgemental person. I am only reporting the realities of what I see in society. All the cool people use the iPhone, locally, internationally.. Everywhere. Thats just science.
It doesn't matter. When the new iPhone comes out it will be the best selling phone of all time and will shatter all records.
Keep bragging in the calm before the storm.
I too, see more iphones than I do see Samsung/Android devices. The realities that YOU see, are often different than what others see. I have a friend who has a VASTLY different outlook on life than what I do. Perception is everything.
As far as all of the cool people using iPhone, wow, just wow.....how very delightfully grade school of you Bobby. Thank god we have you to judge accurately coolness factor of all humans within your field of site and perhaps the world based on what smartphone they use!! I am relieved that I can now eliminate the worry of talking to uncool people if I see them using a Windows or Android phone!!! Phew!!!
Science my ***.... Have you considered that perhaps not all people of the world are as privileged as you and can afford paying a $45+ cell plan on top of a $600.00+ phone? Perhaps you missed that small detail in your analysis of the world's cool people?
Yes, iPhone will sell well. It is like a juggernaut that is out of control, but something to reflect on. RIM was sitting on the throne of cell phones a few short years ago and look what happened to them? Apple may never go down that hard because they diversify, but I suspect over time that since Android has made and continues to make leaps and bounds that Apple will continue to lose market share, unless they win massive lawsuits that ensure they have a monopoly on all of the features that make smartphones fun and easy to use.
