I carry it everywhere with me including Church

Yes,,, everywhere including church - I have two great bible apps that save time and space.... because of the leather cover it looks like a book which is great. I have to admit it gets a lot of attention... and in two months I havent seen anyone else with one...

I've only "seen" one. I was on a plane Monday April 5 (2 days after launch). I pulled mine out to watch a movie and the guy behind me leaned forward and said "Hey, I have one too. You think we're the only ones on this plane with iPads?" His pointing out that both of us had iPads didn't annoy me, but the snotty way he made the exclusivity comment did so I responded with a "they sold a bunch of them so I doubt we're the only ones." The reason I put "seen" in quotes on the first line is that I never actually saw the other guy's iPad... he just told me he had one.

2 weeks ago I stopped by a Starbucks for about an hour to kill some time while my family was otherwise occupied. I pulled my iPad out to read and I had two people stop by and ask me if I liked it. I don't mind at all that people ask about it. I'm teacher at heart so I love to explain why I like it and find it useful while also demoing some of the features, but I don't think people realize how rude it is to walk around behind me to look at the screen before saying anything to me at all (both people did that).

All of this to say I've "seen" one in public and I wonder if the way people responded to mine indicates that there aren't that many being used in the wild.

The irony is, I saw this thread and clicked on it to say "Yes, I take mine everywhere" and then realized that today's the first day I've forgotten it at home in the weeks since I've owned it.

But ordinarily, yes, it comes with me everywhere. However, I am very reluctant to open it in public places, so you guys would hardly see me using it.

Its with me pretty much every minute of the day unless I'm going out on the town.
I've not seen any out in the wild, but i do live in a S**T hole town full of dole bludgers and criminals.

I take mine everywhere since its so light. I don't even notice the weight in my backpack. Used it at Starbucks yesterday and there were 2 other iPad users there. Saw 2 other passengers on the plane last week that had them too.

Mine mostly stays at home, I have an iPhone when I'm out. I will bring it with me to entertain my son if we have to wait anywhere (doc office for example), but I don't break it out in public areas too much and haven't seen any others in the wild either.

I've seen one on the train to NYC and one in the train station. I'm pretty sure it was the same person. I saw one at the Comic Convention in Philly so that's a total of 3 since launch. Not too impressive between my travels in Philly and NYC.

I carry mine in a netbook bag so it's not like anyone would necessarily know I have one. I pop it out to do stuff on the train so I'm probably the 2nd person anyone would see using one in my train travels. Hahaha.

I think a lot of people have them at home. The 3G is useful out and about but I'm not sure how many of them there are in the wild compared to the WiFi model. Of the 2 I've seen out, they were 3G models.

Mine goes just about everywhere with me but i have never seen another in the wild. They have been sold out in my town for a long time...then again, I live in a college town and many could have been purchased and taken home for the summer.

Mine mainly stays at home particularly as it's only a WiFi model (because I don't know how to open my wallet properly).

I've only seen two others here in London. One in my usual cafe and one guy using Maps to navigate along Regent Street.

Bwahahahaha...... thanks for the laugh! :D

I'd be happy to come use mine in London for you to look at if you'd buy me a plane ticket! Same for anyone else... in fact, you could start a collection for me to travel around to all your towns so you can look at me use it! LOL!!

I don't. Only if I travel. I need to be mobile so I don't feel like lugging something like that around.

Mine goes almost everywhere with me

I take it to work, shopping (used it at Safeway the other day to check for ingredients for a recipe), etc. I use it invisibly on public transportation, listening to music or XM radio over my bluetooth headphones (the bus I usually have to ride is way to sketchy to take it out of my backpack).

As for others I've seen, I've only seen a couple. Usually at the Mall or coffee shop.

I carry mine a lot, but only to places where I think I might have an opportunity to use it. I've seen a few around, the most interesting place was next to the river in Cambridge while waiting for 4th of July fireworks.

I had been carrying mine everywhere, but now that I have my first iPhone (4) I don't really take it out much when I'm home in US. I spend about half my year in Korea and carry it with me everywhere when I'm there. I just came back from a trip there. The only other iPad I've ever seen in the wild, was a Korean pop star girl I was working with. That's actually not exactly true. My father-in-law has one too, but I've only seen it on iChat in his house.

I used to take it around with me but I hate the Apple case, it's so ugly on the iPad. When I find one that's got design to match the product I won't be ashamed to have it out :)

I've only noticed one other on the underground since launch.

I had to reply here, because it's not even out here yet (I'm in Ireland, which seems to be as far from the centre of the Apple universe as anywhere) and I see at least a half-dozen a day.

Can't afford one yet myself (thanks to the joys of a kid and another on the way, so I can't really complain too much ;)) but when I do, yes, I will carry it with me. I spend 4 hours a day on trains and have a short attention span, so being able to carry a choice of movies, music books and magazines (with the magazines and movies at a large enough size to enjoy) in a relatively light package is very appealing to me.

I was on the Acela from Trenton to NYC last week and there were 3 or 4 in every car (the Acela's have wifi).

My last trip to SF a couple of weeks ago there were an inordinate number in the airport and on the plane. Sitting at the Americano bar (lobby bar of the Hotel Vitale) there were several out at happy hour.

The funny thing is that alot of the people I see with them don't look like the Apple/gadget type of people. More like grandparents and such.

I do not see them much in the corporate environment though and I have actually had to curtail my use in client's offices because it causes too much of a distraction.

I was on the train recently and two people opposite me and one person sitting next to me were all using iPads - it was just such an odd sight! I don't normally get mine out in public, bit I did after seeing that. The whole carriage was staring at us! :D

Yes. I carry it in my giant handbag, though, so you are unlikely to see it unless I remove it for use.:)
