I Ordered My Retina iMac High End What did you get?

I didn't think so for what I'm using it for as a student, hence I went with the i5.

Do it's worth perhaps ringing apple tomorrow if nothing has changed during the day to possibly get faster delivery? So you reckon they could ship it in less than 3 days, say by Tuesday taking into account I ordered on Friday? Any advice?

Most users won't notice the difference at all. People who use the right software will notice a massive difference though. The cache is bigger 6-8mb, i7 support hyper threading (8 virtual cores rather than 4), and the i7 is clocked almost 15% faster. Only the clock speed will make a difference to those who don't use highly threaded software that can fill the cache though (almost all consumer software), so for the average joe, it's at most a 14% difference. Most likely less however. Those who really use it will see substantial differences though.

If you don't see any movement by tomorrow morning and it still says In Processing.. by all means give Apple a jingle on the phone and see if they will allow you to do Express Shipping and if they do, and it ships like on Tuesday with Express shipping you have a good chance of getting it by Friday. So far mine is still in Prepared for shipment nothing.... more..

If you are doing any photo or Video work there is a huge difference in rendering speeds and more. I maxed mine out as far as I could. I even went with the Apple Memory even though it is over priced, I did not want to mess with trying to get some memory for it and I had the money so I went for it all. Can't wait to get my hands on the new iMac with Retina Display. It will be so Awesome.

i was in prepared for shipment since last night at 10 pm PST so we might be on the same plane but not sure yet. I expect mine to ship by tonight or tomorrow morning hopefully. Did you also order Express shipping like I did? The Race is on!!!!

I know the feeling... I just did it for 2 iPhone 6 pluses and i just bought a iMac as you know and also I got the new iPad Air 2 with 128gb too which is still in processing. But the iPad is due in Oct 23-26th sooner than my iMac yet it is not prepared for shipment yet. So I am waiting for 2 shipments that I will be tracking.

Mine was ordered on Oct 16th 11:30 am PST, and said it was available for shipment 3-5 days well i got the prepared for shipment on the 2nd day and it should ship between 3-5 days which in real time is Sunday night around 10 pm all the way to Tuesday at 10 pm PST and with express shipping i can still get it Friday. Possibly Thursday with luck. I am excited!!!

Just got a text and email that mine has shipped!! Due to be delivered October 22nd. Hopefully no significant goings on at work so I can either take the day off or work from home.

You are correct. I forgot about being the weekend, they did state business days but I am still betting on shipment by Monday night pst.
